IDOK DEVOTION FOR MONDAY, JULY 28, 2008
I played all weekend, even on Friday and you know what that means – late today. Oh am I late!!
Last night Jerry and I and some others were at Tillman’s Corner Baptist Church. Travis Cottrell was there in concert and Our Sweet Lord came for the worship!! Oh it was GOOD!! AND if that were not enough this coming weekend there will be two area churches hosting the Beth Moore Simulcast – Faith Family Fellowship in Spanish Fort and I believe Day Spring Baptist Church in West Mobile. I have my ticket for Faith Family. Any of you who want to meet me there, I am sure you can still get a ticket. I opened an email this morning that said the sender was a ‘Kept Woman’. As I recall a ‘kept woman’ has had some less than favorable connotations over the years. However, this morning I think you will agree IDOKs are ‘kept woman’. But not just us women, there are some ‘kept men’ out there too. Read and see what I mean.
I Am a “Kept” Woman?
You see, there were a few times when I thought I would lose my mind,
But GOD kept me sane. (Isa. 26:3) You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
There were times when I thought I could go no longer,
But the LORD kept me moving. (Gen 28:15) Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.”
At times, I’ve wanted to lash out at those whom I felt had done me wrong,

Sometimes, I think the money just isn’t enough,
But GOD has helped me to keep the lights on, the water on, the car paid, the house paid, etc.., (Matt. 6:25 -34)
When I thought I would fall, HE kept me up.
When I thought I was weak, HE kept me strong! (I Pet. 5:7, Matt. 11:28-30)
7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
And the lady said: I could go on and on and on, but I’m sure you hear me! I’m blessed to be “kept.”
Me too! You too? Enjoy your Monday; it will be Monday all day long. And all day long you will be kept!!
Abba, I am pushing me to get this in the mail, pushing myself to get it posted to The White Stone. I may not be the only one pushing herself/himself this morning; others may be doing it too. Help us rather to breathe in Your Peace and Your Pace. Lord, Your Pace is so perfect. Bless us with learning to walk in Your Steps, in Your Pace. Thank You for what You are doing in the lives of each of us. Thank You that we are Kept by You. Thank You for being the AWESOME God You are. Father, I pray for Joanne; today she buries the body of her son; she is grieving hard, Lord, and I pray she will find her comfort in You. Help us who stand along-side to be strength and support for her and not just today but for many days to come. I especially ask wisdom and strength for Bethany as she stands so near. Thank You for walking with Bernie and Linda; thank You for how well the treatments are progressing. Again we pray You will heal Bernie. And again we pray that Steve will hear perfectly well when the recovery days are passed. Take us this day, mold us and mature us for Your Glory. Comfort, give strength and keep safe our IDOK Troops and these listed here we entrust to You because we boldly declare You, Lord, do ALL things well. Amen and amen. Tye B. Joann.
