Presently I am involved in two Bible Study groups; one meeting on Wednesday night and one on Friday morning. It’s a lot of ‘homework’. And a portion of the homework that I did today was to read Romans 8:38 and 39 and answer this question: What are those things that cannot separate you from God and His love? *
Romans 8: 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,
39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
This is the way I answered: death or life; angels or demons; nothing happening today or tomorrow; nothing above me or below me; nothing too small to see or too large to comprehend; NOTHING CREATED.
Death – 2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
Life – Philippians 1: 20 according to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death. 21 For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 22 But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell.
Angels – Hebrews 1: 13 But to which of the angels has He ever said: “ Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool”? 14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?
Demons – Colossians 2: 14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.
Today or Tomorrow: Hebrews 13: 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Above or Below: Psalm 139:7 Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? 8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, 10 Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me.
Small – Matthew 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. 30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
31 Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
Large – I Samuel 17: 49 Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth. 50 So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of David. 51 Therefore David ran and stood over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him, and cut off his head with it.
Nothing Created – Isaiah 42: 5 Thus says God the LORD, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread forth the earth and that which comes from it, Who gives breath to the people on it, And spirit to those who walk on it: 6 “ I, the LORD, have called You in righteousness, And will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, As a light to the Gentiles, 7 To open blind eyes, To bring out prisoners from the prison, Those who sit in darkness from the prison house. 16 I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, And crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, And not forsake them.
What more do we need to hear to convince us? Happy Pondering today and have a great weekend remembering and resting in the fact that NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, not even YOU, can separate you from ABBA in CHRIST JESUS.
ABBA Your Word is more than we can comprehend but we do believe – never have You nor shall You ever forsake us; nothing in all the universe is able to prevent You from loving us and keeping our best interest at the center of Your heart. Nothing has or ever shall over power You. You are forever supreme. Thank You. LORD I pray You will make these passages of Scripture alive in us. Thank You that we can again bring this list of names; that You have more than ample strength to give them today; abundant blessings of mercy, grace, and forgiveness. We confidently and happily intercede for our IDOK Troops today; for their safety, for inner peace and tranquility, for wisdom and discernment, for Scriptures promises to come to mind at just the right time and added to this we pray each will love You more today. We pray for their families and friends here at home to rest easy in You today. We are acutely aware of the economy crisis and we pray for viable solutions to be made plain and implemented timely. Our hope and our trust is in You LORD. We continue to pray for truth to be proclaimed and lies to be exposed, more and more as November 4 approaches. You know our hearts, you know our desires; we pray for voters with courage to vote Your Word, to vote LIFE in this election. We pray for allies and peace for Israel. At Sunday evening worship service, we were privileged to hear a message in song. You may have heard the song sung in a service somewhere too – On Time God. If you haven’t; here’s a link. And so prior to sitting to start this IDOK I was reading I Samuel 15. When I read verse 2, I made this note: Sometimes justice seems like a long time coming; but it does come.
So whether we are waiting on justice or waiting for something even sweeter – He’s an on time God.
Verse 2 Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘I will punish Amalek for what he did to Israel, how he ambushed him on the way when he came up from Egypt.
Now I don’t know how long a time from when Israel was in the wilderness having left Egypt until the time of Samuel and Saul; but I think it was a ‘pretty long time’ as it was Exodus 17:14 that God made His promise to Israel concerning the Amalekites. 14 And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven. However, my Reese Chronological Bible may help us figure it out. The promise was purportedly given to Moses on May 26, 1462 BC. And I Samuel 15 seems to have occurred circa 1050 BC. And the math says that is somewhere in the neighborhood of 412 years! Do you think it is safe to say that even if what you are waiting on does not come until Heaven, it ain’t gonna be that long?!!
But lets look back at verse 14. Look at ABBA’s instruction to Moses: Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears. Is that a recipe for success or what? When we are waiting for the manifestation of a promise, this is what we do: we find the applicable promise in THE BOOK and we rehearse it as often as needed until it happens. When it has been 12 days or 12 weeks, or 12 months or 12 years and we get weary of waiting and we begin to doubt, go to the promise and rehearse it again and again. Faith arises when we hear and believe. Romans 10:17. And we cannot believe unless we hear. So, are you waiting? Do you have a promise? Keep that promise before you and keep rehearsing! He’s an on time God, yes He is! Sing it, Girls! You too, Brothers!
I like this Lord. This is good. Life really is so much better when we respond to YOU on time; when we act and react on time. ABBA how loving and patient You are with us. Here we grip and complain about Your Timing when our timing is more often than not, late! Until we get some real maturity on us we are consistently late coming or responding to You and it seems the more immature we are the more we complain that You are taking too long. Thank You for this gentle, sweet lesson. YOU are so AWESOME and we love You DADDY GOD. And now because You have commanded and because we have come to realize the value of obedience and the privilege of prayer, we bring IDOKs list of names. Some of them have been here what seems to us like a long time and by Your Grace we are not weary of asking and we are not weary of waiting, we trust You Lord to do in Your Time and Your Way what is needed for each of these. And we again today thank you for and entrust our IDOK Troops to You. We pray for their protection in all ways Lord, mind, body and spirit. We pray for adequate and even abundant provisions for them when that is appropriate and good for them. Thank You for the good they are doing and we pray we will hear of more of this good and we pray for accelerated success so they can come home. We pray for Israel for Peace and security. Holy Spirit teach us the power of prayer; teach us the power of harmony in prayer; empower Your Bride to work in these last days. Not only these last days before the presidential election but these last days as the dispensation of Grace closes. ABBA I believe I sense that You are not finished with us and You still desire to manifest Yourself and draw sinners to repentance. Oh LORD shape us so we can work with You in this greatest of all works. We want to see You move in mighty power upon the hearts of men and women boys and girls and see them transformed into the image of Jesus. We want to see that in the mirror too Lord.
