IDOK DEVOTION FOR THURSDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2008

This is still Thursday, right? I am hoping to put a quick word on this page and get it to you. Yesterday I finally got around to obliging AT&T to update my DSL account. And due to that update when I came to the computer this morning — I had NO Internet service! I wonder where my customer service tech lived??? I wonder if she tired of repeating herself because all her words seemed to run together for me and I could not distinguish one from the other? Do I have to tell you all this gave rise to a golden opportunity to put down my ‘flesh’? And admittedly I did better than I have done at other such opportunities but I suspect not well enough that I will not have that ‘test’ again. But all that is behind me now, I am here with you on the other side of this screen.

ABBA, it has been a frustrating morning and I am sorely tempted to allow it to ruin the rest of this day but in this moment I confess how foolish, even stupid, that would be. It would certainly not glorify You. This reminds me of what I heard last night. Your Power is a display of what You do and Your Glory is a display of Who You are. I certainly do not want to ‘glory’ in my flesh today and that is why I am coming to sit before You now to avoid and triumph over such now and for this day. Maybe some of our other IDOKs have had a similar morning and if so I pray for them too that we will PRAISE You now and redeem this day. We learned last night in our Heart Like His session that praising You even when we don’t feel like it is the way to come into Your Presence and find the help we need. So Lord, we praise You. We praise You for loving us, for Eternal Salvation. We praise You for cool and crisp air; we praise You for Techs to help us and Lord, whatever the need of her heart is today I pray You will get Your Message of hope and help to her. We praise You for comfort and help in every test, trial and temptation today. We praise You for jobs and challenges. We praise You for obstacles and obstructions that You allow to grow us and shows us that You are mightier than anything that Satan, our own flesh and the world can throw up in front of us. Thank You for the honor and the privilege to stand in faith for Your Name Sake. Thank You that You have not nor will You ever abdicate Your Throne. Thank You that You are the Sovereign Lord and You shall ever be. Thank You that NO ONE can de-throne You. No ONE can over power You. No ONE can keep You from attending to me and to all my brothers and sisters today and forever. You are AWESOME ABBA and we praise You and thank You for being You. And ABBA we ask You to show us Your Glory. We ask You for the will to subdue of flesh today, not grudgingly but with humble pride, knowing it is an honor and a privilege to walk in Your Spirit. We trust You to love on our IDOK Troops today; to keep them in Your Watchful Care in mind, body and spirit. We trust You to raise up Your Army against the rampant ‘hell-raising’ that we see going on around us. We refuse to be dismayed Lord, we refuse to feel defeated; we refuse to cower and say there is no hope. You are our God and Your are our Hope and our Stay now and forever. We thank You for Your Glory we will see today and we thank You for the holy and beautiful changes You will make in us today for Jesus sake. And Father, we added Carolyn to the list this morning – You know the reason and we are expecting a great outcome and quick healing as a testimony to Who You Are. Amen and amen.
