IDOK DEVOTION FOR TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2008
Revelation 22:
20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.”
Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
It is late Monday evening as I begin our IDOK Devotional mailing for Tuesday, November 4, 2008 – Election Day. Twenty-four hours from this writing we may still not know who has enough votes to occupy the White House for the next four years. I would love to tell You that I have a word from the Lord and I know that McCain will be elected but I don’t. But this I know — the sun will come up in the morning and every Christian that still has a job to do for the Kingdom of God will still be breathing. Yes, if we are breathing here on planet earth when the sun comes up, we still have a job to do and that will not change whomever is elected.
If tomorrow we received that dreaded news that Obama has been elected, let us lift up our heads.
Psalm 121: 1 I will lift up my eyes to the hills—
From whence comes my help?
2 My help comes from the LORD,
Who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not allow your foot to be moved;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, He who keeps Israel
Shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD is your keeper;
The LORD is your shade at your right hand.
6 The sun shall not strike you by day,
Nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD shall preserve you from all evil;
He shall preserve your soul.
8 The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in
From this time forth, and even forevermore.
And as you can tell from the mailing time I retired for the evening before completing. I am preparing for another day of SUBBING but before that going to Vote.
DADDY GOD it maybe that this day is even more important than we know. Lift our heads, focus our gaze upon You. You are our helper, our shield, our defender. We have no KING but You. This morning we are reminded of Stan and Jowanna and that dear family as they grieve the death of their son. We pray for Your sustaining comfort and peace for them. And as we read the names of each following we pray for them. You know each name and love each one and we know You have all our best interest at Your Heart. ABBA, for each we pray Thy Will be done today. Position us to see Your Glory and humble us to worship You. Amen and amen. Economic conditions, especially the effects it has upon the minds and hearts of people. Unspoken Requests – situations so close you can only speak to Father about. Stan and Jowanna and Family.
