IDOK DEVOTION FOR MONDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2009

It has been a full ‘Sweetheart’ weekend; I over slept and am way, way off schedule this morning. So lets count our blessings, pray over some folks and win this day.
This comes from Emma: Please ask everyone to pray for little Jackson and his mother, Jacqueline who is mentally and physically exhausted, along with a lot of other things going on in her life. She called me and ask that we pray for him. He was a “preemie” and has had more health problems than a little boy should have to have. He had to fight to live from the “beginning”. He has been diagnosed with Cornelia Delange Syndrone which is so rare that we had to look it up! This is a very sad situation. She is a young Christian and struggles every day. It seems the devil stays at her heels!
This Comes from Daphne and I am paraphrasing: The name of the lady is being withheld. She will be in court on March 9 and it will be a heart rending time for her. She does not profess Christian Faith. She has much sadness in her life. She has many needs. The greatest of her needs is to KNOW Jesus as Savior and Lord. However, to get her to the place that her heart can say YES to Jesus may take time and more encounters with Christians who are willing to love on her in His Name. So that is for what I would like us to pray. Daphne says: As the trial date fast approaches March 9, I would ask that we remember her in prayer.
Psalm 145:
17 The Lord is [rigidly] righteous in all His ways and gracious and merciful in all His works.
18 The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him sincerely and in truth.
Father God, thank You that You have heard our prayers already this morning. Thank You for dear ones offering them. Thank You for redemption. And Holy Spirit, we pray for wisdom and motivation to win this day in Jesus name. And in His Name and Merits we pray for Jacqueline and her sons, particularly Jackson, this request is too deep and too wide for us to fathom it. Too much to get our words around to adequately describe the anguish she must be experiencing and all the details that goes along with this, including medical expenses and just day to day living. So LORD we pray for physical strength and renewing of her mind and spirit. And we pray for practical helps to come in from sources all around to meet needs of food, shelter, laundry, transportation, whatever she and the boys need bring provisions to her we pray.
And for this woman of sadness who as far as we know has not met You LORD, we pray for Your Saints to step into her life with ‘bread’ that will feed her Your Truth and that she will see You and love You. We pray that You will be all over this March 9 court appearance and it too will be a healing place for her.
And we pray for each other, for each IDOK and our families; for sick babies that we ask You to make well; for families traveling, asking for their safe returns home; for friends and family living through illness and disease; for Christian churches to be well lighted lamps in communities all over the world; for our IDOK Troops to be protected in mind and body and spirit; for Bible studies and prayer times to be sweet and precious today; for meetings to be productive and seeds of LIFE to be planted in soil being made fertile by You Holy Spirit; for spouses and children to be healed and parents and grandparents to be encouraged and wise in their words and actions; for children to be honest and repentant; and anything in the lives of any one of these that we have missed LORD, bring it on for Your Glory and their good. Thank You for loving us, redeeming us, correcting us and growing us up. Amen and amen. Unspoken Requests – situations so close you can only speak to Father about. Woman of Sadness. Jeanette. Holy Pedicure

IDOK DEVOTION FOR FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2009

On a day certain, I said to my beloved, “let me get my shoes and I will walk with you.” And as soon as those words reached my ears, Scripture came to mind. This one: 15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Do you recognize the Scripture? Yes, it’s found in Ephesians 6. That is the passage we often refer to as our command to put on the armor of God. The Amplified Bible states it this way: 15And having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace.

On that day certain I put on my shoes so as I walked with Jerry, my feet would be protected from injury and filth. Without shoes my feet are susceptible to cuts, parasites, stubbed toes, dirt, grim and etc. And with shoes, clean up is easier. Can you make the spiritual application here? Are there cuts, bruises, stubbed toes, parasites, dirt, and grim in the spiritual realm from which you need to be protected today? If you walk a day’s journey without having your spiritual feet shod, does grim and dirt collect on your feet? If you walk all day without your spiritual shoes or if you do not stop periodically during the day for Jesus to wash your sandaled feet, how’s the clean up when you finally do stop to be washed? I enjoy getting a physical pedicure. Any gunk I missed under the nails gets soaked away, the cuticles get trimmed, conditioners and even polish get applied. Oh! It feels good. Can we see ourselves getting a spiritual pedicure? Can you picture it? All the gunk and grim soaked away, the sins that so easily besets us trimmed away, moisturizers and conditioners applied to make our hearts supple and tender to His Voice, polish to make our testimony gleam with His glory. Oh my! I want that! Don’t you? Will I, will you submit to a Jesus Pedicure today? Imagine it. Experience it.

Dear Ones, there are enough (spiritual) sticks, stones, potholes, ditches, ravines, parasites, filth and grim out there waiting to attack, attach and afflict us that we should be deathly afraid to set our feet on enemy territory without first submitting to a Holy Pedicure and every other Heavenly Spa Treatment The LORD wants to give us. And THEN be heavenly determined to take not a step in this world without putting on not only proper footwear but ALL the armor of God. What does ABBA want to protect you from today? If we don’t put on His Armor, we may find out, the hard way.

Psalm 145:

17 The Lord is [rigidly] righteous in all His ways and gracious and merciful in all His works.

18 The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him sincerely and in truth.

Holy Pedicure. It almost sounds irreverent but I don’t mean to be Father. More and more I want to reverence You. More and more I want to be in awe of You; submitted to You, honoring You with every thought, word and deed. And this morning I pray You will take this Holy Pedicure IDOK and use it to encourage and correct us; to cause us to sit and learn from You; to cause us to desire intimacy with You more than we have before. And we pray for our IDOK Troops for their protection. We ask that You keep them safe today against all enemies of mind, body and spirit. And we pray specifically this morning for Lukas and Captain Tran as they continue with rehab. We would like for them to be fully restored and we trust You with their recovery. We pray for family and friends standing by for wisdom and grace and peace. We pray today for our President and his family, for their protection and for their repentance. We pray that You LORD will put up roadblocks to the evil legislation that Washington wants to enact. And we pray for every America that has been born again into Your Kingdom will pray for America. We pray You will give us grace and space to repent, LORD. We pray for Your protection and promotion of Israel according to Your Word. And Father, for these listed here we pray for Your Help in each soul and situation. You know exactly what they need and how to supply it to them and we pray that for them. And Father, if You desire for any one of us to minister to any one of these, move us; reveal how and by Your Grace, we will do it in Jesus Name and for His Glory alone. Amen and amen.
