IDOK DEVOTION FOR THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2009
I am back at my Simulcast notes today. I have been thinking about a question Beth asked us. Where do you want to end up? If we have an end in mind, what’s stopping us from getting on the path to get there? I have decided I want to end being a godly, sweet, feisty, spry old woman. What about you? What do you want to find at the end of this life just before you close your eyes to awaken in Heaven? What can you do today toward that end?
Psalm 37
34 Wait on the LORD,
And keep His way,
And He shall exalt you to inherit the land;
When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.
35 I have seen the wicked in great power,
And spreading himself like a native green tree.
36 Yet he passed away, and behold, he was no more;
Indeed I sought him, but he could not be found.
37 Mark the blameless man, and observe the upright;
For the future of that man is peace.
Praise Reports and Prayer Requests
I added Jackie K to the prayer requests a few months ago because she has lung cancer. She has done chemo and it did not work. The cancer did not grow but it did not shrink. She is starting a new chemo today. Please pray this one works. Jodi.
Update on Sparky: Sparky is very aware of the things around him that he can see, of course that is limited. He recognizes the people who are visiting him. However, there is a matter that we ask your intense prayer for and that is his left side. The Dr., earlier said that he was not getting a lot from his left side. that was about 5:30PM. We have prayed that Sparky will gain more strength on the left side.
ABBA, It has been a long day and the late night is upon us and You have been more faithful to us today than we even know and when morning breaks You will be faithful still. If You determine to give me years enough here to be an old woman, I really do want to do now my part to ending this thing as a godly, sweet old woman with an even greater fire in my gut for loving and believing and sharing Your Goodness with others than I have today. Thank You for the progress so far.
And now we pray for Jackie, she wants this chemo to work, her family wants it to work, they want to keep her here and if You have more of Your Goodness to show forth through her, she will; we entrust her to You for Your Will, that is what is best for her. And Sparky, we’d like to see some more left side movement tomorrow, that will delight us so and we give You praise for it now. And Louise, we are praying again for her healing too. And someone dear is having test this week, make them good reports, high five shouting reports please and we praise You now for it. And Roy and Julee; I don’t even have words – get him through this and Julee too. And You see the names and their faces of every other person on this list and every situation and every need and we lift them up now asking You to touch them however and in whatever way will display Your Goodness. We pray for protection for our IDOK Troops too and for them to come home safe and sound. Protect, encourage and empower Your Missionaries to keep on keeping on. And, ABBA, someone dear’s back hurts, give her relief and give favor to her husband in his vocation, prosper them I pray. You know our hearts, You know our needs and we proclaim and declare that You are good and You do all things well. Amen and amen.
