A Little Taking Apart

Have you considered that  taking Scripture apart word (or phrase) by word can put you together?  I think it is a good spiritual exercise and I am encouraging you to make it a habit.

John 14:16 I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; 17 that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.

The Speaker here is JESUS.  He is speaking to the Disciples and to you and me.  At the time He voiced this The Helper had not come for JESUS had not returned to Heaven.  So for you and me, for every person who has received the Gift of Eternal Salvation provided ONLY in CHRIST JESUS, this verse means this (at least this is what I see):

I have a Helper.  Not may be; not hope so. I do!

He never leaves me. This is one of the times NEVER is appropriate to use.  I like it! More than like it I am DEPENDING on that ‘never’ to be EVER. :)

He is the Spirit of Truth.  He recognizes ALL lies and He is in me to reveal truth to me; to expose all lies so I can choose to reject them.

The world (all lost ones) does not have Him.  They do not recognize Him. They do not experience Him within them.  :(

But I do! :)

He lives within me!!!

Lets try another one.

Isaiah 1:16 Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your deeds from My sight, cease to do evil,  17 learn to do good; seek justice, reprove the ruthless, defend the orphan, plead for the widow.

Now, obviously since our eternal salvation does not come by our works, this must be a Word to us after we have been Washed in the BLOOD of the LORD JESUS.  It must mean we have a responsibility to look in the mirror and see when we have a dirty face, dirty hands, feet, mind, lips.  And when we find that dirt we must take the initiative to come to Him to have that dirt washed away.  This looks serious to me . . . ABBA is dead-serious about sin.  He does not want to see us practicing it at all! I am so glad He knows it’s a process.

Do you know how I know it’s a process?  Verse 17.

He said LEARN to do good.  That’s my job.  To learn to do good.  And that’s not all.  He also expects me to SEEK justice.  That means when I see wrong, I am to seek a means to make it right.  Perhaps that means I only need to pray about, and perhaps not.  Perhaps I am to roll up my sleeves and do something about it.

Reprove the ruthless.  At first I thought it said remove the ruthless and my next thought was VOTE THEM OUT OF OFFICE.  Reprove – remove, I still think it fits. And if I needed a verse of Scripture to tell me as a citizen that DADDY GOD expects me to VOTE, well, I got it now!  You too?

Defend the orphan and plead for the widow.  People slapped down with grief and hard times  — in a word: HELP them!

I hope this little ‘Taking Apart’ helps in ‘Putting us Together’.

I like this exercise, ABBA.  Your Word is alive and it is life to us! And when this lesson  gets to the screens of our IDOKs I pray HOLY SPIRIT that You will direct the warm light of courage and encouragement upon us and even the hand of correction as we need it. I pray for visions and practical steps how we can reprove the ruthless and defend the orphans and plead for the widows.  I pray not one of us will believe the lie that we have no calling, no ministry; but know if we are still breathing here on this planet, You are not done with us — we can still build in Your Kingdom. You know our prayer concerns; we entrust them to You and thank You in advance for Your Mighty Hand that is moving on our behalf and all on our Praying for These list and our IDOK Troops. Amen and amen in JESUS NAME.

Holy hugs, kt
