Nerds

Christmas Song # 9 *** White Christmas ***

Yes, a White Christmas is possible even in Lower Alabama.

Isaiah 1:18 (King James Version) 18Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Now that makes a White Christmas! Doesn’t it?

May all our Christmases be white! Gives you a new appreciation for the song too, huh?

Another nerd.  And another and another. And negative words formed and began to slip from my tongue but the Wisdom of the HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD stepped in and praises began to roll instead.

Praise You, LORD, that I have sight to see those little nerds on the floor.

Praise You, JESUS, that I have strength to bend and pick them up and rise to walk and put them in the trash.

Praise You, LORD, that I have a comfortable home with warm floors on which to find these little nerds.

Praise You, LORD, that I have GRANDS to come from time to time to fill this home with their love and voices and energy and even these little nerds.  🙂

And that just begins the praises that can be spoken when negatives dare to prick my tongue. And I’m thinking the principle will work with ‘nerds’ of whatever description that come to grace our days – even those that are not sweet little pieces of candy left behind by an eight year old and an eleven year old that you love more than life itself.

Psalm 30: (New International Version, ©2010) 12 that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. LORD my God, I will praise you forever.

Psalm 69: (New International Version, ©2010)30 I will praise God’s name in song and glorify Him with thanksgiving.

When I give thanks in all things, I give Him glory!

1 Thessalonians 5: (New American Standard Bible)18in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Amen and Amen!

A little news since we last met here. Do you remember the baby we all prayed to wait and not arrive too soon? She waited. And then she arrived, right on time! She’s beautiful and she and Mom and ‘Mammy’ are doing well. Bev said:

Please thank everyone for all of their prayers. Our God is an AWESOME God indeed.

ABBA, thank You for this wonderful news of Allie’s safe delivery and that Mom and all the family are rejoicing and praising You.  I pray again for Allie that all her life she will honor You; that Dixie and Bob will lean hard upon You for wisdom to nurture her to love You.  And as we praise You for Allie’s birth we praise You that Chris did not die. We praise You for the plans You have for this young man and we pray to hear of Your plans coming to be in him and through him. And we pray for the families of those soldiers that did not live through this war on terrorism.  We pray for peace for the families and practical helps to come to them that will assure them that You love them and that this Nation appreciates the sacrifices they have given.  And we pray now too for all our loved ones. Thank You for loving them, thank You for hearing our prayers and meeting their needs. Thank You for today’s lesson. Keep it on the forefront of our minds until it is fully rooted into our practices in JESUS Name and for His sake we ask. Amen and amen.

White Christmases and holy hugs to you,  kt

  1. I was reading the devotional this morning and thinking of my children and grandchildren. I was praying for them before I read this and it just went along perfectly with what I was praying. We have to keep picking up the pieces of whatever is there…bit by bit…until our place is cleaned. (heart, mind, soul)
I love my little ones to come to my house too and they love to clean! My two year old and four year old will get the swifer duster out first thing instead of toys. They pick up toys and put them away for me too. They are a joy to have here. If a few sticky cups of milk or drops of cookie crumbs remain…it just makes me think of them and smile. I usually call the name of the child that left it behind and Grady says “Who are you talking to?” He doesn’t understand. I know you do though. love you sweet friend and thank you, thank you for your devotion to Him and to IDOK.

  2. White Christmas is available to all! What a joyful announcement during this Christmas season. Just love it and it makes me smile even now and I think I will just keep it up this entire cold day. (:
