Nothing More
As I sit to find some words for the page it’s nearly ten o’clock in Lower Alabama. The first day of 2015 is nearly spent! It has been a pleasure! I hope your introduction to your new year has been equally pleasing.
For inspiration I took a peek at the devotion for January 2 in my Journey Magazine. As one might expect it’s about time and our good use of it, or our not so good use of it. However, a particular sentence leaped from the page for me. Perhaps it will you too.
“God doesn’t expect us to do everything; He expects us to do what He has called us to.”
That is settling sweet on my soul right about now.
One more nugget comes to mind before I put this post to press.
Recently JT and I watched a movie: Mercy Rule. We liked it! A lot!
Here’s the line that stays with me: “This life ain’t perfect but it’s yours, loving it is the best way of living it.”
Whatever day in 2015 I spend fussing about time, I won’t be loving my life. So here’s to me learning to refuse the suggestion that I have EVERYTHING to do – I have what HE has called me to do. Nothing more!
