I Don’t Want To Be Nice Anymore!

I’m late; I’m late for a very important date with you all. Thank you for being such a forgiving group.

Our weekend was full of blessings and we hope yours was as well.  I am still digesting Beth’s (Moore) message on Saturday.  The Torah of Kindness. Proverbs 31:26 She opens her mouth with wisdom and on her tongue is the law of kindness. Since we are going to open our mouths for sure, then may it be that we speak in and with wisdom and be kind about it.

And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32

She gave us eight points.  Eight tastes of kindness from Scripture.  Here are the eight points.

1. Kindness is not weakness.

2. Kindness is not an action; it’s a disposition.

3. Kindness wears down when we do.

4. Kindness looks pain in the face.

5. Kindness is a Savior.

6. Kindness has good memory.

7. Kindness craves an outlet.

8. Kindness leaves a legacy.

Number 5.  Kindness is a Savior.  And there is only ONE Savior and His name is JESUS. You and I are not ‘saviors’ to anyone and if we in the name of ‘kindness’ are trying to be anyone’s savior, Beth said STOP IT TODAY!  Kindness does not call us to be saviors.  Kindness calls us to point others to the Savior who is the KINDNESS of God made flesh to dwell among us, die for us, rise from the dead and save us.

Ephesians 2:7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

Beth also made us very aware that kindness and niceness are worlds apart.  I missed taking it down in my notes but we learned that nice in its early meaning was a word that meant ignorant, not knowing; and who wants to be that?! Beth was so Beth when she told us she did not want to be nice. She wanted to be KIND.  You see KIND can give a hard word in love and in the anointing of the Holy Spirit; nice will lie. (nice will lie …. my word not Beth’s.  Let me be clear about that.)

Nice is fine but Kindness is divine!

Okay. I got to wrap this up here!  We must today petition and set ourselves to hear God and allow Him to train us to be KIND not NICE. He is the SAVIOR, not us.  No more saying the NICE thing to SAVE someone’s feelings.  Tell them the truth in and with the KINDNESS of the Savior.  And if we are not there yet with that person as our Mamas have told us, ‘If you can’t say something KIND don’t say anything at all.’  :)  That would be the KIND thing to do.

ABBA, I am late late late with this.  I ask You in Your Grace and Mercy and in the Name of our Blessed and Holy Savior JESUS to minister this message to our IDOKs.  And thank You, thank You so much for Beth and that You gave it to her to deliver to us.  I pray for a heart to practice it now and all the days I am here.   You know the people on our hearts, our IDOK Troops, our list of names at Praying For These, the November elections, revival in Christian Churches, the salvation of America; all these things we bring as Your sons and daughters purchased by the BLOOD OF JESUS; praying only for You to be glorified and Your will to be done on earth even as it is in Heaven. Amen and amen.

Quick Word of Praise

My brother is home from the hospital!  And I am grateful, grateful, grateful!!

Thank you all for your love and prayers!!

And Beth Moore’s message today was KIND!!

Proverbs 31:26 She opens her mouth with wisdom and on her tongue is the law of kindness.

That was our Text and she ministered it like no other teacher I know.  Oh our GOD is good!!

Good night sweet friends!  Sunday morning comes early!

Holy hugs, kt

Hallelujah!

My brother is resting well after his heart cath today which revealed the blood clot had dissolved; a new stint was put in place and it is expected that he will go home tomorrow.

This is one little sister who is praising the LORD!  Thank you. Thank you for every prayer you prayed; in the days ahead if the Holy Spirit prompts you to pray for him again, please do.

You all have a wonderful weekend — mine just got a WHOLE LOT BETTER!! And there’s more to come —  We’ve got GRANDS coming for a couple hours this evening and I have a Beth Moore Simulcast conference in the morning at Bay Community Church.   Wahoo!

Holy hugs, kt.

Sustaining

Friday, September 17, 2010 — IDOK Devotion

Just a quick hello and thank you for your prayers for my brother, William. We all are resting easier tonight and with all our hearts want to be resting even easier tomorrow night – with the blood clot gone, the stint textbook perfectly replaced and William going home on Saturday morning to gloriously recuperate. Your prayers in that direction are truly coveted.

Between praying, pacing, phone calls and blog posting and blog reading, I watched some Christian television programming today and heard some good stuff — too bad my thoughts are too foggy to share right now!   :)

But this I do remember –  Scripture sustains my soul.

What Scriptures have given you strength lately? Here are a few of mine.

This one particularly: My grace is sufficient for you.  Say it, believe it and the mind does find rest.

2 Corinthians 12 NKJV: 9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.   source

Psalm 145: (New American Standard Bible)17The LORD is righteous in all His ways and kind in all His deeds. 18The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth.  source

Philippians 4: (New American Standard Bible) 13I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.  source

In Mark 6:31 the LORD gave the Disciples an invitation to Come away – to rest.   I shall heed it shortly.

This day is far spent; bodies are tired and minds too; and, Father, You have been faithful.  Thank You.  Holy Spirit, I ask You to minister these Scriptures and others to our IDOKs in JESUS’ NAME. Amen and amen.

Holy hugs, kt.
