Whatcha Think of You?

IDOK DEVOTION for Wednesday, October 3, 2007

Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen. Revelation 1: 7
And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life. I John 2:25

I would like to remind you again of the Eastern Shore Women’s Ministry Conference – our 4th Annual – to be held on November 3, 2007. Please pray, ask Father God if He has a message for you at this conference. I would like to see you there. This link will give you all the information: http://www.easternshorewomensministry.com/news.html

A revist to December 1, 2004:
Father, multiple thoughts are rolling around in this and You know I started to say empty head of mine and immediately the direction becomes clearer; thank You.
I wonder how often we sell ourselves short? That was a question posed to my mind this morning. You know what I mean? Don’t we all do that? Don’t we all often think we are … Well, not much? And you know what else we think? We think that is being humble. WRONG! I am told this morning that failing to see and recognize and yes even give honor to the qualities and the value and the character that Father has built in us as we have walked with Him is NOT humility. It is and this hurts… It is sin. Ouch! And we say well isn’t that better than being the other way and think we are “all that and a bag of chips”? Maybe; but either is not what Father intends for us. I think He wants us to know that
John 3
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
How much more valuable can we get? Now lets Amplify that —
16 For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.
17 For God did not send the Son into the world in order to judge (to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence on) the world, but that the world might find salvation and be made safe and sound through Him.

And we say but what about those verses that say:
Romans 3

23 Since all have sinned and are falling short of the honor and glory which God bestows and receives.
Isaiah 64
6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
And all this is TRUTH. If we are so foolish as to spurn the GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE THROUGH JESUS CHRIST and think we can by acts of our own righteousness obtain what only Jesus can give us… Well that is the most arrogant, most prideful, stupid thing a human can do — but you know what even then HE STILL LOVES US! Is that value or what?!!
But back to those qualities and values and character He is building in us as we walk with Him… We have to recognize those as good too or we have missed something important. Look at this
Romans 12
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Do we see what is here? If we have allow the Holy Spirit of God to work in us; if He is transforming us — if we are sinning less than we used to — acknowledge that! Read the next verse.
3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
We often see ‘the think not more highly’, but do we see the balance here? Think soberly? Don’t go off on yourself either way! Webster says Be earnestly thoughtful.
Recognize the great (what other kind would He do?!) work that Father has done in you and give Him praise and when someone says you did a good job: say THANK YOU! And if you add ANY thing to the thank you, add: I am grateful for the work Father has done in me; He has invested a lot in me and I appreciate that He has.

First and foremost in your praying this morning I ask you to pray for Bobby and his family. Bobby is a young teen with critically imbalanced blood counts; he is considered stable but critical and we want so much for him to recover.
Father, at times like these words fail us other than to ask Your help; that you balance Bobby’s blood count, that you stabilize him and restore him to health; that you eradicate the infection and give Bobby renewed strength and comfort his mother; give peace and a calmness in this storm as only you can; give the medical team wisdom and insight into this condition and cause them to be accurate in their treatment of Bobby. Father, please restore Bobby for Jesus sake.

==================================================================
I am thrilled to report to you this day on October 3, 2007, nearly 3 years since that prayer that Bobby is doing GREAT. He has a daily Rx he administers to himself and he is good to go — school, after school work, church activities and now even a beautiful girl friend!! God is so Good!!
Pray for the Peace of Israel
Please remember Jacob in your prayers. He will be having surgery at UAB Children’s Hospital on October 9. He will be admitted on the 8th and there will be special precautions taken because of his malignant hyperthermia. He is not thriving and gaining weight as he should and we are all very concerned with his health. Rachel N.
Reminder: today October 3 is Brenda’s surgery.

Father, thank You. Thank You for what You did and have done for Bobby and with this on our hearts we come interceding for Jacob and we pray for such a miracle for Jacob too. That You will raise up Jacob to live healthy, to go to school, to run and laugh and grow and love and bless You and his family. Help Rachel and the family. You know our hearts for them and it is for that we pray.
And Father, we pray for Brenda as she prepares for surgery, as the physicians and surgery team prepare; give peace to Brenda and to her family and for the surgeon and the medical team we ask for accuracy and skill to be text book perfect. Father, bring Brenda through this surgery and recovery beautifully – remove the cancer and set her on her feet again quickly to continue to serve You, we pray.
And we bring these others too. Lots of emotions, physical pain and suffering, spiritual pain and anguish, illness, sickness and disease and more are associated with these and we ask You to individually bless these today. We pray that each will be strengthened today to continue believing and continuing serving and continue receiving from You. And for our IDOK Troops we continue to ask that You protect them in mind and body and that You bring each of them home to us safe and sound and more in love with You than when they deployed. And especially for those who are now home, help them find their way and their place and this we ask in Jesus Name.

Listen, Who’s Talking?

IDOK DEVOTION for Tuesday, October 2, 2007

Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen. Revelation 1:7
And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life. I John 2:25

I just heard this phrase on Christian Television and it prompted me to come and begin today’s IDOK. The phrase was: ‘You are believing somebody right now.” That struck me strongly as truth. At this very moment, whatever thoughts are racing through my mind or yours, we are believing someone. Question is – who? Scripture tells me that my own flesh is untrustworthy.
Romans 7:
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find.
So maybe believing my flesh (my natural mind) is not good.
Further, Scripture says Satan is the father of lies.
John 8:
44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
So neither is believing him a good thing.
And Scripture says this about the world:
I John 2:
15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.
17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
So from this it is evident that we would be foolish if we were to believe what the ‘world’ tells us.
Who’s left? Only Our God. We cannot even begin to list all the Scripture to describe Him but for the purposes of this IDOK, lets look at

John 10:
10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
He desires to give us abundant life in the here and now.
As the phrase says, we are going to believe somebody – It might as well be HIM.
So whatever thoughts you are entertaining today, is it Father talking to you? If not, don’t you believe a word of it!

Jeremiah 29:
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Psalm 33:
11 The counsel of the LORD stands forever, The plans of His heart to all generations.
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance.
Psalm 40:
5 Many, O LORD my God, are Your wonderful works Which You have done; And Your thoughts toward us Cannot be recounted to You in order; If I would declare and speak of them,They are more than can be numbered.
Jeremiah 31:
3 The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying:“ Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.
4 Again I will build you, and you shall be rebuilt, O virgin of Israel! You shall again be adorned with your tambourines, And shall go forth in the dances of those who rejoice.
I Corinthians 2:
16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Pray for the Peace of Israel
Father, thank You for the thoughts You have for us and that they are all good; that You never think evil or hateful thoughts about us, nor do You send those thoughts to us for us to think and entertain. We know who does that; help us cease to believe ANYTHING he says. And thank You for new minds that You have given us – Your Very Own. Thank You and we pray for strength and desire to use them today. Thank You for each and every IDOK and I now collectively pray for each of them and I know You individually will answer for each of them. Thank You Father. You are AWESOME. You know our hearts for Brenda and Steve and Janet and Kevin and the family and Bay and her family and Grace and all these named here and especially Father those so close in heart they have not been named – Lord, we’d like a Word for these; a Word from You and You alone; for only Your Word can we trust and only Your Word do we desire to believe. Help us believe Lord. And while we are asking for You to enable and bring us to more believing You, help us be more fervent in praying too, help us carry on real and full of power conversations with You. Help us just dialogue with You continually for people we love and people we need to love and for circumstances that just maybe You would allow us the privilege to work with You in. And we dare not forget Israel and her Peace with You; protect her and deliver her from her enemies and America, bless us Lord with conviction and repentance and our IDOK Troops, protect them again today from all harm in mind and body and bring this war to a successful conclusion and bring our IDOK Troops home safe and sound and more in love with You than ever before we pray in Jesus Name. And Father, the conference is a month away, bring the women that need to hear from You, bring the women who want to hear from You and bring the women who hope to hear from You; Lord, I know You will be Present and I know You have a message don’t let Satan or the world or our own flesh keep any woman away from this conference that You want at this conference. Lord, open doors and provide everything needed to get them there – tickets, transportation and child care; whatever it takes Lord, don’t let them miss You and this we ask for Jesus sake. Brenda D. Rachel B. Kevin and the children. Lisa’ s Mother. Janie B. W.C. The Ellis Family. Bev. Ed Litton and family. Vickie. Lisa W. John Thomas. Cole. Taylor & family. Anita. Kathy. J Lloyd and family. Why?

IDOK DEVOTION for Thursday, September 27, 2007

Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen. Revelation 1: 7
And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life. I John 2:25

I think Wednesdays are one of my favorite days of the week; I get to see Beth Moore! And today was no exception. Today’s thesis was We Get to Ask Why! We get to ask why when that ‘cup’ we prayed NOT to drink, must be drank. She said it’s okay when the mini blinds are closed and the house is empty of all others, only you and God are home, to let out that groan from the depths of your gut, “Why, God, Why”? Drop to the carpet, prostrate if you will, pound the floor with your hands, weep and scream as loud as you may, kick your feet and cry out ‘Why, Lord, why’?
Matthew 26:
42 Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done.”
44 So He left them, went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.
Mark 15:
33 Now when the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.
34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which is translated, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”
Psalm 22:
1 My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? Why are You so far from helping Me, And from the words of My groaning?
2 O My God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not hear; And in the night season, and am not silent.
3 But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel.
And before we leave the carpet, let us also confess: ‘But You are holy! And I will praise You even in this’!
When we have a heart like this for our God Who does not make mistakes, we CAN ask WHY!
Beth told of a time when she did this – she dropped to the floor, she screamed, she pounded her fists, she kicked her feet and she cried, ‘WHY’? Father did not tell her why but when she arose from the carpet she felt better.
And then she gave us this nugget that Father gave her: even though her sorrow and her grief were so deep, so vast, it had come with the privilege of knowing and loving that little girl.
Loving someone deeply, loving someone more than your own breathing is a privilege; and yet with that privilege may come immense sorrow; sorrow so deep that we in our humanity, even as Our Lord, may ask WHY? You see we can only be moved so profoundly to ask Why, Lord, Why, when we have experienced a love that we wouldn’t have missed for the world – not even gut wrenching sorrow! And when we experience this, we don’t have to know why, but asking sure seems to help!

Pray for the Peace of Israel
Father, thank You for Beth; thank You that in You Jesus I can call her my sister. And more than that thank You that I can call You Father. Comfort those who have loved so deeply that asking Why is acceptable to You. You know Kevin and the children are in our hearts and on our lips and we lift them to You and we praise You for the legacy that Jennifer has given them. Thank You for the holy goodness that You are working in her Home Going. Bring alongside abundant people to bless them in these many pending months. And there are others grieving too; three other families that were told to me just hours ago, and for them we pray for peace and comfort too.
And thank You for our kinship with Israel and we pray for Her as a Sister and we pray for Her to soon embrace You as Her Messiah. Guide this Blessed Nation, give Her victory over all Her enemies and bring Her to peace.
And for America, we pray for Holy Ghost conviction of sin and righteousness and judgment to come; revive us Lord and when You have revived us, send us with Holy Spirit power to evangelize the world and our next door neighbors and Lord, I confess I need You more for this than anyone I know.
And now we call these names to You and we entrust their well being, their needs, their wants, their cries of Why, and everything in between – thank You for hearing us, thank Your for caring, thank You for supplying every need according to You riches in Christ Jesus.
Kevin and the children. Lisa’ s Mother. Janie B. W.C. The Ellis Family. Bev. Ed Litton and family. Vickie. Lisa W. John Thomas. Cole. Taylor & family. Anita. Kathy. J Lloyd and family. HIS MINISTRY TO YOU

We are glad you are here; stay a while, look around, and be encouraged. We estimate there to be over 3,000 posts here at The White Stone Blog. Please know my hope is ALWAYS to help and NEVER harm. I have voiced many opinions and thoughts here since 2007 and by now I MAY NOT EVEN AGREE with all of them and some of my grammar and punctuation likely needs editing. But this is changeless: JESUS is our ONLY Savior and Hope. Do you KNOW Him?
