IDOK DEVOTION FOR MONDAY, MARCH 31, 2008

Please allow me to give you a word from Beth (Moore) this morning. This comes from her Devotional Book Breaking Free Day by Day.
I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is going to be revealed to us. Romans 8:18
Remember the wedding feast in Cana of Galilee? The master of the banquet made a statement about Jesus that always touches my heart. It just describes Him so well: “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now: (John 2:10 NIV).
Jesus always seems to have something greater waiting up around the bend. I would never claim divine inspiration, but Christ has proven Himself true so often, I believe I can say with all confidence that He has greater things just ahead for you.
(end of quote).
I receive that today and I pray you will too.
Thank you for your continued prayers from my Momma. I spoke with her for a few moments yesterday; she’s weak, yet slowly improving. As you will, keep praying.
Father, thank You. Thank You that even when tiring activities, long days and short nights render us sluggish, You remain Almighty, You remain our Tower and we are coming to You this morning praising You that You are our God and You are Good and Right in all that You do. Thank You for this new morning and a new work week and we pray for freshness. Freshness to begin again at our places of employment and our places of service. We pray for our families for strength and courage and safety today. We pray for our IDOK Troops for their protection today in all aspects: mind, body and spirit. We pray for the families of our IDOK Troops and ask You to bless them and provide all their needs. We pray for these listed here, in all their needs, diverse and many, that each will look to You and receive Your Faithfulness to them. We continue to pray for the Peace of Israel, for this Nation to stand with Her and be an instrument in Your Hands to bless Israel. And we are concerned about America and the unfaithfulness that we see all around us; the sin and hatred, the hopelessness; the despair; the rising costs to buy food and shelter makes it so hard on so many and yet we KNOW You are providing for us; help us have faith and trust in Your Goodness. The Presidential race, we don’t even know what to say about all that is going with that except forgive us Lord, have mercy on us and raise up Your People in America. And Father Momma is on my mind continually – You know Lord, You know. Thank You for faithful IDOKs and I pray Holy Spirit You will continue to move and inspire prayer not only for my Mom but for everyone listed here and for each and every person who reads IDOK. Thank You for this ministry; I don’t know why You let me do this but thank You. Take the words of our sister Beth today and comfort and encourage everyone who reads them. And this we ask based solely upon the Righteousness of Jesus imputed to us in Him. Oh, Father, right standing with You is the greatest of all gifts You have given us. Thank You. Amen and amen.

Waiting

IDOK DEVOTION FOR FRIDAY, MARCH 28, 2008

Isaiah 30: 18 Therefore the LORD is waiting to show you mercy,
And is rising up to show you compassion,
For the LORD is a just God.
Happy are all who wait patiently for Him.

To this I can only add AMEN!
Again today (tonight) I say Our God is AWESOME. He is a Perfect and Devoted Father. We are foolish indeed if we do not trust Him!

It did not go with my Mom the way we had hoped. In pre-op her heart rate went too high; two physicians worked on her and tried to bring it down but could not. So they postponed the surgery in hopes of bringing it down this afternoon, evening and over night. At this writing, the rate has come down and we are hopeful for surgery in the morning. The surgery is crucial as well as the timing of the surgery. The doctor says its tomorrow (Friday) or its traction until she heals – 6 months to a year. I am interceding as fervently as I know how asking that she rest tonight (Thursday), the rate stay down to a normal beat and that the surgery be textbook perfect tomorrow. If you will, please join me in this prayer. Thank you so much for your love and support. My back discomfort continues to lessen; I expect to be back to normal soon. God is so good. Thank you for praying.
Father, You know the cry of my heart; You know the pain that my Mother is experiencing; You know her needs; You know our needs regarding her and I ask You to bring restful sleep to her tonight and a heart rate and blood pressure conducive to surgery in the morning and I pray that You will ensure the surgery repairs the hip and she recovers from this fracture. I ask You to comfort my Momma. I pray for Brenda and Gina to rest tonight too; they are weary, Lord. Thank You for hearing; thank You for answering. And Father, my Momma is not the only one suffering many others are too and we pray for them that they will find comfort and rest and restoration in You. That our IDOK Troops will be protected in mind and body and spirit; that they will know peace and safety in You; that their families will trust and rest easy in You until You bring each one home. Thank You for America; forgive her, give her grace and space to repent; protect Israel and bring Her the Peace You desire to give Her. Comfort each IDOK, draws us each closer to You and Father, thank You for them. Thank You for their love for You and for me and my family; render to them 100 fold for their love and devotion. Father, we commit this night, this day to You; not our will but Your Will be done in all that touches us for Jesus sake.

A Holy Hush

IDOK DEVOTION FOR THURSDAY MARCH 27 2008

Isaiah 30: 15 This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says:
“In repentance and rest is your salvation,
In quietness and trust is your strength,
But you would have none of it.

It is the in quietness and trust is your strength that jumped off the page for me this morning. The remainder of the verse says but you would have none of it; I am refusing to make that mistake today.
Quietness and Trust = strength.
This morning I believe I am experiencing a holy hush and it is comforting. Our God is a Devoted and Precious Father.
Thank you for your prayers for me – I am improving in record time; not without discomfort yet but it is subsiding quicker than in other episodes. I appreciate you. And this morning I need your prayers for my mother. She fell yesterday afternoon and the doctors say she shattered her right hip. The decision will be made this morning by her cardiologist if she will have hip repair surgery. Family in Tennessee reported to me last night that the doctors are keeping her medicated because the shattered hip hurts so much. My Mom is nearly 84. Please pray for her.
Father, thank You for a holy hush; Your shhhh is a tender, sweet blessing to me. Thank You. And I know it will be to each needy soul this morning. Thank You for taking care of me, of my Momma, of our IDOK Troops, of every soul named here, of all that concerns any of Your Children.
