IDOK DEVOTION FOR TUESDAY, JULY 22, 2008

Revisiting September 22, 2003

Good rainy Monday Morning. It’s a good day to stay home and enjoy a quiet morning with Jesus and we will for a bit and then it is off to work we go. If you can linger at home, do that and enjoy sweet communion with Him.I was involved in a discussion yesterday regarding that we shall know even as we are known and not knowing where in particular that verse was found, looked it up this morning. I Corinthians 13:12: For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face; now I know in part; but then shall if know even as also I am known. Don’t you look forward to that day when you (we) shall see JESUS face to face? That ONE Who perfectly knows you (me) now and still loves us anyway!! His love does so amaze me! Don’t you (we) look forward to the day that we will see Him and know Him as we only dimly know Him now… Yet we are learning!
And in my search this morning I also came across again another passage that I want to read with you today. You see for now we only know Him in part and yet we are learning and yet while learning we have “However, we possess this precious treasure [the divine LIGHT of THE GOSPEL] in [frail, human] vessels of earth, that the grandeur and exceeding greatness of the power may be shown to be from God and not from ourselves.” (II Corinthians 4: 7) Father has a plan when He pours Himself into us; He makes no mistakes and when He ministers through these frail, human vessels of ours, glory can only go to HIM and that is the only way it can be. To Him be all GLORY AND PRAISE.
And while our residency remains in these frail, human vessels: “We are hedged in (pressed) on every side [troubled and oppressed in every way], but not cramped or crushed; we suffer embarrassments and are perplexed and unable to find a way out, but not driven to despair; we are pursued (persecuted and hard driven), but not deserted [to stand alone]; we are struck down to the ground, but never struck out and destroyed; always carrying about in the body the liability and exposure to the same putting to death that the Lord Jesus suffered, so that the [resurrection] life of Jesus also may be shown forth by and in our bodies.” (II Corinthians 4: 8-10)
That’s our calling to show forth the RESSURRECTION … THAT JESUS IS IN DEED ALIVE. He is seated at the Right Hand of the Father and yet by HIS SPIRIT, He dwells in us so whatever hard pressed situation, or trouble comes He will deliver us so that His Glory will be seen and others will come to KNOW that OUR SAVIOUR LIVES!!
Father, thank you for what you are doing in our lives and in the lives of our loved ones and in the lives of all this circle of email sisters (and brothers). We ask for your Provisions today for all our needs and Lord particularly this morning protect and encourage our men and women who serve this nation on foreign soil and here at home for Jesus sake. IDOK DEVOTION FOR MONDAY, JULY 21, 2008

What I am about to do may not be one of the brightest things I have ever done for an IDOK Devotion. I say this with sincerity, apart from Jesus, I am not real smart. In fact left to myself I am down right dumb and more often than I like that natural dumbness comes out. I hope this is NOT one of those times. But anyway here goes!
At this writing, I have just come in from the porch. After that sweetheart of a man of mine goes to the office, I usually go to the front porch with my prayer journal and I did that today. Now, it is Friday morning (7/18/08) and if all goes as planned you will be reading this on Monday, the 21st. Let me set up for you this portion of my journal entry. It is common for me to have front porch guests as I write. Usually a ‘green’ lizard or two. And over these weeks, I have become a little less intimidated by them. However this morning and even smaller creature ‘graced’ me with his presence – a blue tailed, brown striped lizard, ever so tiny.
Now for the entry: It must be getting close to an hour out here. That little creature just keeps close – too close for my comfort. What are You telling me – MOVE? He seems to be enjoying the sun shine – such a busy little thing. So tiny. Here I am so huge compared to him and I shiver at the thought of him coming close to me. How rational is that? Why is that? Is he harmful to me? Does he have poison in him that could make me ill or kill me? Oh well. You really are a magnificent Creator. I would love to commune with You, a dialogue – this seems one sided in a way. I know You are hearing my questions but I don’t hear immediate answers. All in due time, huh? It will be great, so great – so ‘I have no words’ – to face to face see You and experience Your creation as You created it and intended for us. I do want that day. But You know what? I want to want that day more. I want to want You more. I want to long for You more. I want to be more homesick for Heaven. More than I am. Maybe that would inspire me to be a better servant here. Work on me – okay? I love you, Abba. I think I am going in now. I know You remember the ‘One Things’ for our daughters and our sons and grandchildren and family members. Thank You Lord. Thank You for this morning.
There’s a reason Prayer Journals are usually private (and most often should probably be kept that way). And there’s a reason I urge you to keep one. They help to teach you who you are. And just maybe a prayer journal will reveal in a unique way that God The Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit is ‘head over heels’ (I use that term reverently) in love with you.

Romans 8: 21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.
23 Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.
Father God and now a new day is here and a new week begun. I pray You will fellowship with us individually on our ‘front porches’. Help us discern the ‘front porch guests’ in our individual lives; to enjoy your creation and worship You today.
