IDOK DEVOTION FOR THURSDAY, OCTOBER 2, 2008
Seven of twenty five – a Great Recipe:
7- Don’t waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your Energy in the positive present moments.
A brief word this morning:
Philippians 1: 9 And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, 10 that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, 11 being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
This is Father’s will for us. And when we look at the enormity of the goal and where we are today He speaks this to us: 6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
And this: Galatians 6: 9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
And one more for the road: John 16: 33 I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]
Yes! He has conquered this day for us – it is ours to walk in with Him.
Thank You Lord that You have conquered ‘flesh’ so that we can think and talk and act in Your Spirit. Thank You LORD JESUS. Thank You. You know I have something on my heart this morning and I am confident that many others do too. Abba, I have been criticized for being too political on this screen. You know it is not my intent to be political only for politics sake. I want to be right with You. I want to be a woman of honor and holy practice even in my duty as an American. And I am grateful to be living here. I thank You that You have given me the rare privilege and the heavy responsibility of living in this place of wealth and abundance even in this time of economic – well, I’m not sure what to call this situation but You Father know perfectly. Abba, isn’t it so that wherever I am and whatever I do I am accountable to You even in my duty to be a responsible American? I hear so much talk about what is good for America; isn’t it of utmost importance for the good of America that truth be told? ABBA, I want to always be faithful with the truth and I need Your help to learn truth – help me be faithful in that gathering and sharing and if I have not been, I am committed to be even more diligent. I am praying again this morning Your Word for Sarah that she be as wise as a serpent and as harmless as a dove, not only tonight but following. I am concerned for this election, I am concerned for the blindness of people; it grieves me to see people planning to vote against Your Scripture. Lord Jesus, when You were here as the GodMan You were zealous for Father’s Word. Zealous to bring Truth to the people. Pack as much of Your Zeal in me as You can. If it is Your Will I pray You will use me to expose the lie that has been swallowed by more Americans than I want to number – this lie of separation of church and state. Forgive us Lord for being people of tolerance rather than righteousness and Lord please set us straight I pray. And Abba as we read this list we commit each to You and we trust You in Jesus name.
