IDOK DEVOTION FOR THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2009

Hope you will be able to listen.

As I begin, this Wednesday afternoon is far spent; a short time remains to be prepared for Wednesday night services. I have enjoyed Joyce Myers, Beth Moore and I just heard a delightful story as told by John Hagee. He was preaching that we must ask and keep on asking until we receive. He said when his daughter was 4 she asked that her birthday present be an inside dog. He said no. He said no again when she was 5 and 6 and 7 and 8. But when she was 8, he preached a Sunday morning sermon that God gives us the desires of your heart. So on their way home, she asked him if he believed that sermon. Of course he said yes. She told him the desire of her heart was to have a dog. He again told her no. But in curiosity he asked her what type of dog she wanted. She said a Pomeranian. And as he recalled Pomeranians were priced at $500. So he felt quiet comfortable when he told her he would not buy her a Pomeranian but if someone GAVE her one she could surely have it. She was delighted and she began to draw pictures of herself walking and feeding and playing with her dog. Monday morning he went to work and midmorning his wife called him and said guess what. She then gave him the delightful news that Mrs. So And So just called and said she would really like to give their daughter a Pomeranian for her birthday. At that point he was certain he had been ‘set up’ but a few phone calls revealed Mrs. So And So just felt impressed to bless the child with one of her puppies. So they brought the dog home and his daughter said, “Daddy, what are you getting me for my birthday?” To which he replied, “the dog”. She quickly said, “Oh no Daddy. The Dog is my present from GOD. So what are you getting me?” For the next 12 years that dog blessed the Hagee family and most all ‘Daddy’ Hagee.

Let me give you one more story about being persistent. This one comes from Matthew 15. 22And behold, a woman who was a Canaanite from that district came out and, with a [loud, troublesomely urgent] cry, begged, Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is miserably and distressingly and cruelly possessed by a demon!

23But He did not answer her a word. And His disciples came and implored Him, saying, Send her away, for she is crying out after us.

24He answered, I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

25But she came and, kneeling, worshiped Him and kept praying, Lord, help me!

26And He answered, It is not right (proper, becoming, or fair) to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.

27She said, Yes, Lord, yet even the little pups (little whelps) eat the crumbs that fall from their [young] masters’ table.

28Then Jesus answered her, O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you wish. And her daughter was cured from that moment.

Here is a woman who by tradition and custom should not have received anything from Jesus but she kept on asking and He gave her what she asked. How could it be that she had such great faith? Romans 10:17 tells us faith comes by hearing the Word of God. I think this Canaanite Woman had heard the Word on the street about Jesus, the testimonies about His kindness and His mercy and she chose to believe. She chose to believe all the way through to receiving. I wonder if sometimes we give up before we receive because we don’t really believe He is good and He is kind. Whatcha think?

Psalm 145:

17 The Lord is [rigidly] righteous in all His ways and gracious and merciful in all His works.

18 The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him sincerely and in truth.

Father God, You promised Your Word would not return void so we open ourselves to hear and receive Your individual messages to us. I am grateful for each soul who reads these words and who prays along with us. Holy Spirit take our petitions and make them acceptable; make them prayers that will be heard and answered according to Father’s will. Protect our IDOK Troops. Forgive America’s People; forgive our leaders and please give this nation space and grace to repent. Give Israel Your favor and make Her victorious over all Her enemies. Comfort, heal, save and rescue each one listed here according to Your Will. Amen and amen. Unspoken Requests – situations so close you can only speak to Father about. Natalie. Tommy and Raye. IDOK DEVOTION FOR WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 2009

I received my EWomen e-mail devotion by Julie Clinton, today and it complimented our Tuesday IDOK. This is what she said: “Living in such a confusing world, we can easily miss how beautiful we are to God and how much He really does love us. Learn to long for the love of God. His love for you is unconditional and free. It comes as a gift from the ultimate Giver of all Gifts. All you need to do is open your heart and say, “Yes, Lord.” Those simple words will yield you to God’s love.

But evil hates the fact that you are loved. All hell is trying to get you to believe God doesn’t care about you or doesn’t love you. Evil wants you to believe that you mean nothing to Him. But the truth is that God created you, chose you and loves you with a love that will last forever (Jeremiah 31:3). Fight off your fears and claim God’s love. Reach out, open your heart, and ask Him to tangibly show you His love for you. Let Him fill you with His endless and abounding love. Resting secure in God’s love is an essential element of handling whatever comes your way.”

Jeremiah 31:3 The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying: “ Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.

My comment to add is Reach out, open your heart and BELIEVE His tangible love demonstrated in the life, death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus, and His gift of faith delivered to us by the Holy Spirit. That my sisters and brothers is tangible love! And we are foolish in deed to refuse to believe. And that is what we have to do, you know. In order to NOT believe Him we have to REFUSE to believe Him. In order to NOT know that we are loved by Him, we have to refuse to be believe we are loved by Him. In order for us to be faithless we have to refuse the gift of faith that is given to every soul. Romans 12:3 . . . According as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. Can you imagine the impact upon this world if every child had a mom or dad or grandma or grandpa or aunt or uncle or friend, just somebody to encourage them, pray with them and pray for them to accept that gift of faith the first time the Holy Spirit reveals to them He is offering it? So! How important is it for you and me to sing and live Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so to our children and grandchildren? Wow! I didn’t know we were coming here at the opening sentence; but I like it!! I love it!! We CAN believe. It is fore-ordained for us to believe the Gospel; to believe all the Scripture and if we will refuse to refuse, we will believe! Maybe not all of it today but step by step from glory to glory we will believe.

Look at this way, Dear One. If you are struggling, you are not struggling to believe, you are struggling to disbelieve. You have the GIFT to believe. Open it!

2 Corinthians 3: 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (emancipation from bondage, freedom).

18 And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.

Happy Wednesday to you!!

Psalm 145:

17 The Lord is [rigidly] righteous in all His ways and gracious and merciful in all His works.

18 The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him sincerely and in truth.

Abba, again this morning I pray for our IDOKs. Thank You for them. Thank You for the good plans You have for them today. I pray that we all will receive and open the gift of faith You have given us. I pray we will receive and open all the gifts of love and mercy and grace and provisions and healing and helps, all those things You have given us to enable us to do this thing today. Thank You for the protection You have given our IDOK Troops and we ask You to continue to protect them today in mind and body and spirit. Again, we present these for healing and helps of various sorts. You know each one perfectly and we rest them in Your perfect love. Amen and amen.
