IDOK DEVOTION FOR WEDNESDAY, APRIL 29, 2009

Some of you may remember this one from April 29, 2004. It’s entitled Shall We Dance? It’s still a valid question I think even today, 5 years later. There has surely been some Dancing in these five years. It was only days after writing this one that I met Jerry. Yes, there has been some dancing!! I hope you will give a look back over these five years and see how you have danced; see all the wonderful blessings you have experienced and maybe even more than that see all the hard, difficult, ‘how did we do it’ things that Father God has brought you through. This will give us strength for whatever comes to our ‘dance floor’ today. My love to you all. Here’s

Shall We Dance?

I read a statement last night that I really like: Life may not be the party we hope for, but while we are here we might as well dance! Don’t you love that? Life deals to us “stuff” — stuff that we would rather it did not but it comes anyway — So we might as well dance! I happened by I Timothy this morning and I think it fits with dancing.

1 Timothy 6:

7 For we brought nothing into the world, and obviously we cannot take anything out of the world;

8 But if we have food and clothing, with these we shall be content (satisfied).

9 But those who crave to be rich fall into temptation and a snare and into many foolish (useless, godless) and hurtful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction and miserable perishing.

10 For the love of money is a root of all evils; it is through this craving that some have been led astray and have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves through with many acute [mental] pangs.

I admit I may be stretching this a bit but bear with me, it just might fit. Obviously we brought nothing into this world and obviously we take nothing when we leave and while we are here stuff is going to happen, BUT we can still dance IF we are SATISFIED! Satisfied with the simple things, like food, clothing and shelter; Father feeds, clothes and shelters the birds, will He fail to do the same for you and me? So we have food, clothing and shelter BUT you won’t be DANCING with that food or clothing or shelter unless we are SATISFIED. But we have so much more than just food, clothing and shelter; we have sunsets, and gentle breezes, and butterflies and humming birds, and daises and buttercups and . . . . If we are satisfied with these things, we will DANCE! Now, if we are not dancing then we must be “craving” — craving something more, more than Father has already provided. What’s the matter with us?! What does the Word say about craving or shall we say “refusing to dance”? We fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and hurtful desires and become in danger of being plunged into ruin and destruction and miserable perishing. Whoa! You mean if I am not satisfied with what Father gives and ALLOWS (especially allows) into my life I am refusing to dance? I think so. Look back at the text it is through this craving that some have been led astray and have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves through with many acute [mental] pangs. Did we see that? Wandered from the faith, acute mental pangs!! Yep! I think Father knows what He is talking about. I better be satisfied; I better be DANCING where I am all the way to where He is taking me!!! Now, where are those dancing shoes?? I am not leaving this house without them!! How about you? Now lets see — I have The Eternal Father and Savior who forever loves me, food, clothing, shelter, family, friends, warm showers, a soft bed, butterflies and buttercups . . . . Oh, yeah! Lets DANCE!!

Father thank You, You are just too cool. You are AWESOME! And yes, My Lord I would love to dance with You today! Guide me step by step and by Your Grace, I will follow Your lead; yes My Lord lets dance! I love You; You are wonderful!! Thank You for my email family, thank You that they listen and they read and the heed Your Word and they love you. Thank You for providing for each and every one of them each and every thing they need this very day for Jesus sake. Amen and amen.

And today ABBA we are praising You for this wonderful news for Martha Mc. May she be up and dancing soon. Bless her husband and all the family. And today I amen this prayer of five years ago knowing it is still a good one and that You have not forgotten it and You continue to answer it. And today I renew my prayer for cleansing of Washington and all 50 States. It seems even more needful as I hear of the Bills contemplated even now. To us Lord they appear vile and designed to be just one more step toward a future of more and more restrictions on just the Christians. Father, we recognize more and more that this world is truly hostile to You and to us. Thank You that this is not our HOME, that You are. But since we are here, we want to DANCE with You and make the biggest impact on evil as we can for Your Glory. Cleanse us Lord so we can do this, cleanse us so You in us can do this. I ask You to love on our IDOK Soldiers today, to keep them safe and sound and to guard and protect them from the Evil One and those following him. I pray for the Peace of Israel and for the children around the world that are poor and in need of food, clothing, shelter, education, clean water and the GOSPEL. Lead us in this as You will. And we dare not forget to pray for each one listed here. You know their ‘dance floor’ and I am asking You to meet them on it. Amen and amen.

Prayer Report and Praise: My sister-in-law, Martha Mc had the heart thing done yesterday and they were able to “balloon and stint” the blockage – praise the Lord! She lives in Chattanooga, TN and I live in Memphis, TN so my brother called me to let me know that she was doing great. Thanks for your prayers! ABBA, I am posting this here in prayer as a daily prayer and I am praying as pure in motive as I know how today, asking that You by whatever ways and means You choose, see to the removal from office of every elected Official in Washington and all 50 States that is not sensitive to and is not inclined to work to preserve Judaeo-Christian values and the Constitution of this Nation in its Original Intent. Lord, I am so sorry that many (and thank You not all) offices of this Nation are filled with corrupt, reprobate-minded people who have no regard for You or Your Word and if I have done anything that has contributed to the election of these people, please forgive me and stop me from any further actions that will damage and bring this Nation to complete ruin. I pray Holy Spirit that You will stir the hearts and prayers of enough people to bring this Nation to repentance and will clean and cleanse the offices and the Officials of this Nation. Father God, please have mercy on us. Lord Jesus, clean Washington even as You did the Temple if need be. Amen and amen.
