IDOK DEVOTION FOR WEDNESDAY, MAY 13, 2009

Just a little note; don’t know if it will blossom into a full edition or not.

Luke 4:16 So He came to Nazareth, [that Nazareth] where He had been brought up, and He entered the synagogue, as was His custom on the Sabbath day. And He stood up to read.

As was His custom on the Sabbath day. If you are physically able and not consistently and faithfully worshipping with a local body of Christian believers (that is going to Church), you are not following in the steps of Jesus. That’s as simple and as blunt as it is. This is also addressed in another place in Scripture. Hebrews 10: 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

And THE DAY is approaching! Praise the Lord!!

Okay. I’ll get back to my journal now. ‘See’ you in a bit or longer.

It’s been longer than a bit and it has been a productive day as to household pleasures and the like. Even took the time to do some posting to Kat’s Meows. Okay enough of that.

Luke 4: Then He rolled up the book and gave it back to the attendant and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were gazing [attentively] at Him.

Wouldn’t you have loved to have seen that? If only we would gaze attentively at the Word today, how different would our lives, our homes, our churches, and Washington DC be today? We could find out. Do you think we will? I Peter 4: 17 For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?

This one I am adding just because I love Israel and this is God’s promise to them.

Ezekiel 28: 25 ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “When I have gathered the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and am hallowed in them in the sight of the Gentiles, then they will dwell in their own land which I gave to My servant Jacob. 26 And they will dwell safely there, build houses, and plant vineyards; yes, they will dwell securely, when I execute judgments on all those around them who despise them. Then they shall know that I am the LORD their God.”’” I think this time is coming quickly, don’t you? What should we be doing about it?

Father, these are questions that we will answer. We cannot ignore them, for ignoring them is an answer. Isn’t it? Would You have us do more as IDOKs than pray for Israel? We are waiting and by Your grace and will, we will do as You direct. And Lord that day in the temple, oh that must have been something to see You read that passage and proclaim to them that You were their Messiah. I am so glad that many of them believed. It will be good to meet them all one day. Thank You for making that a reality for me and for all who believe You. I pray now for any IDOKs that might not be as faithful in corporate worship as You were here on earth in Your going to the cross mission and I pray we will be more faithful in assembling with other Christian believers. I pray we will be more consistent in our building up and edifying one another. Claudia’s report on Doug is really good news. Thank You. And thank You for the improvement of others that we may not have even heard about yet. Please continue to improve Steve. Please continue to undergird and walk with Linda in this time of learning to live with Bernie there with You instead of here with her. And there are others in that process too, missing their loved ones, and so I pray for them to be in the center of Your will for them. And as daily when we come to pray we pray for our IDOK Troops. We are so grateful to be able to pray for them and so grateful at Your faithfulness to protect them and keep them safe. Thank You. And we pray again for the cleansing of Washington and all 50 States, we pray for the removal and replacement of those that are not willing to be at peace with Your Will and Ways. And we pray for each name written here. You know we don’t read every name every day but every day You see them and every day You are there for them, helping and loving and providing. Thank You Lord. ABBA, I am posting this here in prayer as a daily prayer and I am praying as pure in motive as I know how today, asking that You by whatever ways and means You choose, see to the removal from office of every elected Official in Washington and all 50 States that is not sensitive to and is not inclined to work to preserve Judaeo-Christian values and the Constitution of this Nation in its Original Intent. Lord, I am so sorry that many (and thank You not all) offices of this Nation are filled with corrupt, reprobate-minded people who have no regard for You or Your Word and if I have done anything that has contributed to the election of these people, please forgive me and stop me from any further actions that will damage and bring this Nation to complete ruin. I pray Holy Spirit that You will stir the hearts and prayers of enough people to bring this Nation to repentance and will clean and cleanse the offices and the Officials of this Nation. Father God, please have mercy on us. Lord Jesus, clean Washington even as You did the Temple if need be. Amen and amen.

IDOK DEVOTION FOR TUESDAY, MAY 12, 2009

I am still loving my 90 day journal; it is more than a 90 day journal to me for more than a couple reasons, but be that as it may, I want to share with you a portion of what Beth wrote (Jesus, 90 Days with The One and Only. Page 79. B&H Publishing Group. Nashville, Tennessee):

“In Conclusion, it’s clear that these were no ordinary temptations. They appear to be direct assaults on the messiahship of Christ. We can, however, draw a few applications from them:

Seasons of intense temptations are not indications of God’s displeasure.

Satan is tenacious. Don’t expect him to give up after one or two tries.

Scripture is the most powerful tool in our fight against temptations. Don’t fight back with your words. Fight back with God’s!”

As you may have figured out, my reading today is Luke 4:1-13 and is the account of Jesus’ 40 days in the wilderness and Satan coming to attack Him when He was physically weakened. Satan must have been hoping that Jesus’ physically weakened state meant that His Spiritual state was also weak. He was wrong!! Praise God, he was wrong! You and I would not be saved today, if Satan had had his way with Jesus that day. But he didn’t and we are rejoicing. Yet in my rejoicing I am reminded that another will come along (and he may already be on the scene) and Satan will make him the same deal; that man will say yes.

Luke 4:

5 Then the devil took Him up to a high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the habitable world in a moment of time [in the twinkling of an eye].

6 And he said to Him, To You I will give all this power and authority and their glory (all their magnificence, excellence, preeminence, dignity, and grace), for it has been turned over to me, and I give it to whomever I will.

7 Therefore if You will do homage to and worship me [just once], it shall all be Yours.

Sadly, tragically, damnably for all eternity, the Anti-Christ will say yes.

And Beth introduced a thought to me that bears pondering. On page 78, she asked me (and everyone else who reads the page) if I could imagine how Jesus must feel as He watches the state of the world under the influence of the Satan? So, can you imagine? What do you imagine He feels? And does imagining that help you understand Him more and love Him more? I think it does me. With all the corruption, oppression, and violence that fills this world that ABBA loves so much, she said: “Surely Christ is counting the days until He grabs the deed restriction to the world and reigns without rival in righteousness.” I think He is, don’t you?

So when folks ask us how it is that God can allow such evil to go on, tell them in His Righteousness and Justice He is biding His time and one day all evil will be over FOREVER!! And then we can ask that dear soul asking such an accusing question, “where will you be then?”

ABBA, I am thanking you again for the ministry You have given Beth Moore; for her faithfulness to Your Word. Thank You, Lord. But thank You more that You are the giver of that ministry and that You Holy Spirit quicken Your Word to us. Thank You. It comforts me that the day will come when we will be no more affected by evil; that Satan will be put away and You Lord Jesus will reign here. I can only imagine it but because of You it will be more than imagination it will be reality; so much so that we can count it has having already happened. You are that sure; that safe. Oh, that is good! Thank You. And in this moment I am now reminded that the school term is coming to a close and teachers and students need encouragement to finish this ‘race’ well and so I pray that for them and selfishly I especially pray it for the teachers in my family and those teachers affecting my family, like those who are teaching my grandchildren.

Again, thank You for Doug’s progress; we would love for him to be so improved he could go home today. And in addition to Doug we pray for the remaining ones listed here. We don’t know what it is specifically that each needs but whatever it is we believe, we know, You will give it, so we say thank You even now. And we pray for our IDOK Troops, for their safety and protection in spirit, soul and body. We pray for the cleansing of Washington and all 50 States. We thank You for those in office that love You and for them we pray for a stronger voice, a firmer platform and that they will cast only righteous votes at whatever the cost. We pray that You will convict and correct Leaders who sign bills without reading them. If You will DADDY make it impossible for them to sleep if they intend to vote without reading. Thank You for every heart that You are working in and I pray we will be willing to obey. Thank You for the freedoms we still have and I pray we get to keep them; show us what we can do to work with You to keep them. Amen and amen.

IDOK DEVOTION FOR MONDAY, MAY 11, 2009

It is Friday morning, May 8, 2009, and I am making some notes for Monday’s edition. It has been a busy morning. I did some housekeeping pleasures early so when I sat to read and write I would not be distracted by un-kept floors and the like. And as I was picking up and putting here and putting there, I found a sweet blessing from ABBA. I have a pencil that I like very much and some days ago I lost the cap over the eraser. And being the obsessive soul that I am I was sad about that and I mentioned it to DADDY GOD and then went on day to day. Occasionally the cap would cross my mind but I was resolved to not having it. Oh, me of little faith! This morning as I stepped to open the blinds I felt something tiny under my foot and you guessed it, there was my eraser cap. My journal entry reads: Thank You for Your goodness to me. Finding the cap for that pencil means much to me. Thank You. Nothing is ever lost with You. I love it! And I love You!!

Something so simple and yet that little something speaks to me in volumes of ‘sweet somethings’ whispered in my soul. Our God is the one and only AWESOME God.

Nothing is ever lost with Him. Not eraser caps. Not our tears; He keeps all those in a bottle. Have you ever wondered what He will do with them one day?

Psalm 56: 8 You number my wanderings;

Put my tears into Your bottle;

Are they not in Your book?

9 When I cry out to You,

Then my enemies will turn back;

This I know, because God is for me.

Do you know that today? Do you KNOW that God is for you?

Do you have some misplaced ‘eraser caps’? It may be that some are important, some trivial? Don’t worry. ABBA KNOWS where they are and when you least expect it they might show up right under your ‘foot’. You see I am just goofy enough (and I am SO GLAD I am) to believe that when I stepped on that eraser cap, picked it up and began to thank Him, that He smiled so Big. He may have even laughed out loud. I think He delights in delighting me. And while my bumper sticker says I’m His favorite. I know He is just as delighted to delight you as He is to delight me.

This came Saturday evening: Hi Kathie, I just heard from Melinda..she is home and doing much better. Her heart is better..she is off some of her meds and on some new ones..she has some blockages..but they are only 20 %. I was so worried about her. Just wanted to let you know how she was doing. Mabel

DADDY GOD, I am thinking that You can and will take this ‘silly’ devotion and apply it to some serious ‘eraser caps’ and give our IDOKs some encouragement. I am thinking that You will bring some smiles to faces. You sure have mine. And nothing would please me more than to give You reason to smile. So help me do that and not just me but all our IDOKs. Thank You for Melinda’s improving health; thank You for the improvement Doug began to experience today, please continue it and make him well again. Thank You for Mike. It seems there is some good news here and not so good news there; but in all of it, we know You love Mike and we trust You. We pray for Vickie’s continued strength too. And ABBA, I am thinking of Bev and the back pain. I would surely like for You to alleviate the pain and the cause of it. And Linda H, just love on her for me and give her a vision of what she can yet do in Your Kingdom. And please for Steve, no dizzy spells this week. And Cathy, I don’t know but just whatever she needs, Lord. And not just these specific names but all these listed here, whatever they need I pray they will seek You and receive from You all that You desire to give them. And our IDOK Troops, protect them and bring them home safe and sound when it’s time. Again I pray for the cleansing of Washington and all 50 States; for the Peace of Israel and the saving of the children. Amen and amen.
