Gifts, eager to receive

The Preacher said today that all Christians have Spiritual Gifts, at least two. Then he explained. Salvation. It was our first gift.  And then, according to Scripture, we have been gifted with at least another Spiritual Gift.  (1 Corinthians 12:4-11)

Then he said, and it spoke so clearly to me that I am here to share with you, when we received salvation, we also received forgiveness, grace, and mercy (and more).  Oh, I left out something. The Spiritual Gifts we received are not ours to tuck away. No, they are given to us to help, encourage, and build up our brothers and sisters in the Faith.  Which means the forgiveness we received, we are expected to pass it on — forgive others.  The same with mercy and grace.  Which we can do. We can do this with the help of HOLY SPIRIT. Not only does He give the gifts, He also provides the Power to USE them!

Something to think about, isn’t it?

And then I thought of something else. May I share?
Conviction, Repentance, and Faith.
These are gifts too.  I treasure them!
I am eager for conviction when needed. I am eager for the gift of repentance (to see, acknowledge, and agree with GOD about sin, and turn from it), and I am eternally grateful for the gift of Faith that enables me to believe Him!

This is good to ponder.  I hope you will.

Holy Hugs, Kathie
