Follower of Yeshua. Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother. Some call me a teacher. Some say I'm a prayer warrior. A few accredit me with some writing skills. Me? I say I'm a work in slow progress, looking for perfection in eternity and until then having all the holy fun I know how.

Got Bread?

They left the House of Bread because there was no bread.

Book of Ruth

Bethlehem means House of Bread.
How appropriate as the BREAD of Life John 6:35 Bread of Life. would be born in Bethlehem numerous generations after Naomi returned home with her daughter-in-law Ruth.
People purported to be more learned than I say Naomi left Bethlehem for Moab in 1294 BC.  And that she returned along with Ruth in 1284 BC.  (source)
That’s numerous generations before Joseph and Mary journeyed to Bethlehem for the census, making sure the prophecy would be fulfilled. Yeshua was born in Bethlehem.

I hope you are encouraged today to know ALL the prophecies of GOD come to be, always have, and always will.

Boaz.
Their Kinsman Redeemer. A man of honor.  Read a portion of what he said to Ruth that day she came to his field.

11 Boaz replied, “I have been made fully aware of all you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband, how you left your father and mother and the land of your birth, and how you came to a people you did not know before. 12 May the LORD repay your work, and may you receive a rich reward from the LORD, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have taken refuge.”  source

I see him as a gentle, thoughtful, resourceful man; not prone to rash decisions, but rather one who investigates matters thoroughly and then takes action.
Do you see that about him in these verses?

Cut-Off

I made it to Ruth — for tomorrow!

Judges ended this way: 25 In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.

Judges 19 was a hard chapter to read. We have had such heinous happenings in America.
Wednesday’s post defined sin as evil; Judges 19 fleshes it out for us.

I did see some hope in Judges, chapter 21:  6 And the Israelites grieved for their brothers, the Benjamites, and said, “Today a tribe is cut off from Israel.
I think their grieving was that without intervention the tribe of Benjamin would cease, would be no more. They would be 11 tribes, not 12.
I wanted it to be ‘spiritual’ and I want to pursue it that way.
I want us to see that people are cut off from GOD and care enough to pursue them with The Gospel.  I want us to pray and take action as directed by HOLY SPIRIT to proclaim the GOOD NEWS to them.  I’m concerned about our lack of grieving the Lost, the Cut-Off people of this world.
I am urgently mindful that people are dying without getting off their road to destruction and yet I am painfully aware it is easy to get distracted and occupied with day-to-day living matters. We need to change in JESUS’ name.
Prayer is the first step.
