Wonder No More

Do you ever wonder if JESUS would turn you away?
Do you ever wonder if He will forgive you?
Do you ever wonder if He will really, truly, save YOU?

Well, wonder no more!

37 Everyone the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will certainly not turn away. source 

Of course, there are a couple of conditions.

1. The Father must give you the invitation to come to Him. He does this by Holy Spirit convicting you of your sin and your need to repent to be forgiven and He confirms to you that JESUS is indeed the Messiah – Savior of the World, including YOU.
This chapter of John 6 makes it clear that it is the will of the Father for you, for all of us, to TRUST JESUS. I encourage you to read the chapter. A link is provided herein.

Condition 2 is that you accept His invitation and follow through by repenting of your sinful state and by trusting His Son, JESUS, forever and ever Amen. 

Are you convicted? Are you convinced? Then by all means say YES,  I Do before the invitation is withdrawn.

And then YOU will have to wonder — NO MORE.

There is much more in John 6 that I wondered about.  Like how did Andrew know a young lad had 5 loaves of barley bread and 2 fish?
Perhaps that’s silly or trivial but I did wonder — just being honest here.

And I also wondered if people are still as put off today as they were when John 6 happened when JESUS told them they had to eat His flesh and drink His blood to have eternal life in them?
I wonder if this word picture He gave depicts how distasteful it is for people to confess they are hell-deserving sinners in need of The Only Savior?shutterstock_187826798
I wonder if He used these very words to bring reality to their very faces?
You see His very FLESH had to be torn to pieces and His very BLOOD spilled out for YOU and ME to be saved from the eternal death we were born into.
Do you remember some years ago songs from hymn books about the BLOOD of JESUS were removed?
Why? Because it was so distasteful. Some folks didn’t want to sing those words.

Do you ever wonder if there really is a Last Day?
Well, Yeshua spoke of the Last Day, three times in this one chapter.

There is a Last Day.

Should we not be asking people if they know if they will be raised up on that Last Day?
Do you know for sure YOU will be raised up at the Last Day?
I had to ask.
I can’t suggest you ask others and me not ask others, can I?

I am mindful that more than not my posts these days are somber; not easy reads, not funny, and not rose-colored, but neither are the days in which we live and neither is a future without JESUS.
Somebody has got to give the bad news AND the Greatest News EVER!  — it might as well be me!

That’s Blunt!

The home of the righteous is a storehouse of treasure, but the earnings of the wicked bring trouble.

The home of the righteous.

Is a home the same as a house?
I suppose for the context of the Text it is but the word is home and home does paint a different color on the walls of our mind, doesn’t it? The home is painted in shades of warmth, a glow that invites. And house could be shades of warmth but it might just as easily be cold and unfamiliar, but then the Text does say the home of the righteous. And that for sure would be colors of warmth, acceptance, love, comfort, peace, joy, and refuge, … . And such a home is what? A storehouse of treasure.

A source of abundant supplies.

The home of the righteous is a source of abundant supplies.

What is supplied abundantly in the home of the righteous?
Well, whatever it is it is a treasure; the LORD says so!

Treasure: 2. a thing or person that is highly prized or valued via treasure – definition of treasure by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia..

How much highly prizing and valuing is going on in our domiciles?
What are our treasures? Perhaps identifying our treasures will confirm to us whether our residences are homes or houses and whether they are righteous or wicked.

Righteous or wicked? That’s blunt!

This I know. Positionally, this home is righteous based solely on the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF JESUS CHRIST imparted here by faith. In practice, this home needs some improvement and Proverbs 15:6 is helping!

Do the Math

36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

via Mark 8:35-37 KJV;CJB – For whosoever will save his life shall – Bible Gateway.

What shall it profit a man, a woman, a family if they gain everything they desire in this life and lose their eternal souls to hell?

What shall it profit a man, a woman, a family if they get every material thing they desire in this present life and yet they have no peace, no joy, nor wholeness of being?

What shall it profit a man, a woman, a family if they have all the trinkets the media flashes before them but they forget, reject, turn away from the GIFT of Eternity – JESUS, the CHRIST?

And what is profit anyway?  This was interesting:

Profit (accounting), the difference between the purchase price and the costs of bringing to market via Profit – Ask.com Encyclopedia.

And this one:

d. The amount received for a commodity or service in excess of the original cost. via profit – definition of profit by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia..

Perhaps we are asked to ‘do the math’. Perhaps ABBA is asking me to do the math today; not so much for myself in regards to my eternal destination – that has been settled – but for others? How much are they worth to me? How much are they worth to you? And who is they? Any soul the HOLY SPIRIT brings into our sphere of influence today? Any soul HE opens a door of utterance to whom we can speak a word of encouragement, a word of warning, a word of hope.

I’m glad I woke up this morning with ‘what shall it profit’ calling to me.

Thank You, ABBA, I need this. I pray HOLY SPIRIT that I do not allow this message to be unprofitable to Your Kingdom work today or my own soul.

A Grand Start

I am returning to a verse of Scripture I read yesterday to share with you this morning.

7 For God gave us a Spirit who produces not timidity, but power, love and self-discipline.

via 2 Timothy 1 KJV;CJB – Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the – Bible Gateway.

He, the Holy Spirit, produces not timidity but power. Power to do what? To love and to discipline myself.  Discipline myself in what way? Every way that does not line up with Love; His love.  What am I doing that does not demonstrate God’s love? Love for JESUS, love for others, even love for myself? Then that is what I have the power from the Holy Spirit to stop doing. That’s what it says. And that’s my mission today. Perhaps you will consider taking on this mission as well. Disciplining myself to cease even just ONE of those things would be a grand start. I like that! A grand start this Monday morning.

I’m Smiling ~ ~ ~   🙂

Thank You, ABBA. Thank You for a Grand Start to this day and thank You, HOLY SPIRIT, for the power to continue to love and disciple today in JESUS name.  We remember now to You Jamie and I ask You to heal her, to restore her to health and give her the privilege of serving You more. Collectively as Your people we bring ourselves and those we love for You to regenerate and revive.  Amen and amen.

Cracks

I miss you all when I am deterred from coming here and yet life often keeps me away; but for today a quick hello and some encouragement to you to keep a journal – a diary if you will.  Cozi is a great tool – portable even – 🙂 with phone apps. Cozi lets you take your calendar, journal, shopping list with you wherever you go.  And it is that ability that has prompted my quick note here today.

You see I have not been faithful with my portable diary (shame on me!) but I made some entries today:

Lemon verbena soft soap batch cooling now. Got Vitacost ordered.
Got pineapple potted yesterday! Teacup flower-pot. Got it a Wal-Mart. So cute!

And while I was making those entries I noticed the last one I made. It was Saturday, September 7, and we were in Mentone, Alabama at the Wildflower Cafe and without my portable diary I would not have made the note nor would I have such a sweet memory triggered today. There was a plaque on the wall of the cafe. It read:

There is a crack in every thing. That’s how the light gets in.

Will that preach or what?

21 ‘And it shall be that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’

12 Yeshua spoke to them again: “I am the light of the world; whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light which gives life.”

We are all cracked pots; and JESUS gives us LIGHT and LIFE. So I hope you will take a hint and keep a diary;  Just short quick notes will keep memories accessible and who knows might even give you a springboard to share the GOOD NEWS with someone. Blessings my Friends~~~

ABBA, thank You for modern tools that You, HOLY SPIRIT, can use to help us; help us serve others and help us remember to praise You. You are so AWESOME. Thank You for loving us continually.  And I am thinking of someone who I want You to heal, Carolyn. She is dear and precious to me and I pray You will heal her and restore her to us; we miss her in Bible Class. And I am confident there are Readers who come here that have someone dear they too are asking that You heal. And it is not just Carolyn; faces and names are on my mind right now: pending surgery, unresolved health issues, financial needs, estranged relationships, wounded children, enslaved people of every kind, the government shut down, the blindness of people, cruelty,  the ministry of reconciliation-raise up people to bring it to others; all this and more, ABBA. We are a needy people and I am certain YOU are our answer and our help; I pray, HOLY SPIRIT, You will help us receive Your help. Amen and amen in the Mighty and Holy Name of Yeshua.
