IDOK DEVOTION FOR MONDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 2008
Revelation 22: 20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.”
Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

As I sit to write I just remembered I am SUBBING at the school on Monday. Prayers appreciated. 4th and 5th grades language. Won’t that be a hoot?!
Sheila Walsh. Thanks to email and Internet I was privileged to see a passed interview with her on the 700 Club. She was talking about prayer. She said Get Off Your Knees and Pray. By the way that is the title of her new book. I think I’d like to read it. Anyway. She said each morning she gets up goes outside looks up and says Father, wherever You are going today, I am going with You. She said I may not understand and it may not be the way I would choose but still I am going with You.
I like that so much!! And it prompted me to make this confession. Lord, where are You going today? Take me with You.
And then I thought you know, Kathie, it does not matter that you know where ABBA is going, only that you go with Him. And so I continued. Wherever You are going today in this life, take me with You. I remember what Moses said, Lord, if You are not going with us, we are not going. And I love that he said that. So Father, take me with You today. You will probably need to come back and find me many times in the course of the day; not that You do not know where I will be but I will have lost sight of You because my steps will have wandered. I will not have meant to wander but I am so prone to do so. Thank You for loving me anyway.
This sounds so good on paper and I want so much for it to be so but it is not easy, is it? And the impatient soul I am I want it to be just so right now. But the Scripture says the ‘steps’ of the righteous are ordered by the Lord, doesn’t it? And then I am reminded He said He leads me in the ‘paths’ of righteousness. Hmmm. I wonder if I have to learn to follow the steps, one by one – a few at a time before I am ready for Him to show me the ‘path’? I think that may be so, don’t you? Clearly Scripture teaches that ABBA can move whomever He chooses whenever and wherever. (Proverbs 21: 1 The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.) There must be a difference here. I think that difference is the being moved and the ‘choosing’ to walk. The righteous must choose to take the steps He orders and when we do, as we mature and when it is appropriate and in our best interest He shows us the ‘path’. So my dear ones, if you are taking steps that He is ordering and You do not see the path of the steps, it is because it is in YOUR best interest to not know yet. So relax and enjoy the walk. See and hold in your mind and heart this picture – The God of the Universe is ordering YOUR steps. You! You are walking this life with the LIVING GOD. What could we possibly have to complain about?!!
Psalm 37: 23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD,
And He delights in his way.
24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down;
For the LORD upholds him with His hand.

1 The LORD is my shepherd;
I shall not want.

He leads me beside the still waters.

He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.

Amen and amen even when we walk through the darkest valley, we have no reason to fear because You are with us. Thank You ABBA. Thank You for Your Rob and Staff, indeed when we see the purposes and experience Your use of them on our behalf, yes Lord, Your Rod and Staff are comfort to us. Teach us to go with You daily wherever You are going in our individual lives; oh, to be obedient sheep is our prayer. I pray for Your anointing of wisdom and grace as I meet with 4th and 5th grades for language classes. And I pray for teachers, especially here in Mobile and Baldwin counties; they have such an extraordinary task each day with the minds, attitudes and various home experiences in an enclosed classroom. They need Your help to keep order and to make learning a desirable endeavor. It is not easy Lord and I don’t see how any teacher copes without You as their Internal Guide. So I pray each will call upon You and find You faithful. And added to our concern for teaches and students we pray for these. There are many needs here; our IDOK Troops, grieving families, illness and disease, family stresses, financial pressures, major and minor decisions, tensions as a result of the election last week, ministries struggling, Pastors and staffs with full schedules, and the Eastern Shore Women’s Conference – only weeks away now. You know what You want to do with each and every situation and soul and it is for Your Will we pray in it all. And I pray too for each IDOK and all their families that each will abound in good works today and their love for You and Your Word will increase today. Amen and amen. Economic conditions, especially the effects it has upon the minds and hearts of people. Unspoken Requests – situations so close you can only speak to Father about. Stan and Jowanna and Family. Have you considered that the Internet is a phenomenal tool for either great good or unimaginable devastation? A few keystrokes and the click of a mouse can bring to the viewing and hearing of young and old messages of salvation, hope and comfort or become a noose to strangle the life from its captives. As with numerous other ‘things’ in life, the tool is neutral,  it is the operator that determines if it will be a force for good or evil. In these days let us rally all our gifts, voices, and tools of every sort to bring the message of Christ Jesus’ salvation and hope to the young and the old.

So you will know I am not the only one saying it, even those who are much brighter and more experienced than I have reported:
Persecution on the horizon?
Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, believes Senator Obama was elected, in large part, because the church in America has failed to address sin in its own ranks and also in society.
Perkins says Christians should pray for and return to a biblical model of holiness and righteousness. And believers in America, he adds, should prepare for persecution.
“We are going to see, I think, unprecedented attacks against our faith through measures like the hate crimes [legislation] to the Employment Non-Discrimination Act,” he says. “We’re going to see attacks on innocent human life through the Freedom of Choice Act, trying to erase all the gains that have been made in the pro-life movement. And I think even our freedoms are going to come under attack.”

Father, it has been a long day and You have been faithful every moment of it; thank You for Your forgiveness when I have not been faithful. And thank You for the progress that has been made today. I pray tomorrow will be more. I am reminded of Carolyn and the recovery I desire for her so that is my petition on her behalf today. Others come to mind too: Bernie and Linda, Mabel, Shay and the orphanage – supply that work with every penny they need, Lord. J.Lloyd, DeLois and Ray, and all these listed here – the deep needs of their hearts please position them to receive. We pray for courage for our IDOK Troops; we have heard the plans for them but we look not to any human, we look to You to care for and supply all their needs. Let them not feel abandoned, nor that their sacrifices have been in vain. Please continue to protect them. Father we have concerns for Israel and for Christians around the world who are being persecuted and murdered by the sons and daughters of Ishmael. I know not what to pray but for comfort, courage, protection, peace, repentance and Your soon return. For the abusers and murderers who hate You, we know, Lord, You love and die for them too and so we pray You will arrest their evil deeds and save their souls if at all possible. Comfort and restore to holy normality the McCains and the Palins; assist and comfort George and Laura as they embrace a new kind of normal and for the Obamas, Lord, thy will be done. I commend our IDOKs to You for courage, for determination to obey You, to memorize Scripture and share Your love and Your gospel with every soul You ordain for each of us. We wait upon You to reveal our ordered steps for Jesus sake. Thank You for peace in the storm. Please revive the saints and save the lost. Amen and amen. A Renewed Attitude!

Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

This is mid-day Wednesday and it has been thus far an emotional day. ABBA has washed my eyes and my heart with tears and He has provided me laughter with loved ones. I am blessed beyond measure and I am grateful.
Before I continue, I acknowledge to you that I am not the brightest bulb in Father’s Light Bulb Carton and neither am I coming to you as the voice of a prophet, only what I think is likely to happen.
Let me be clear, I do not envision Obama as the anti-Christ but I do believe we can in him see a foreshadowing of the One yet to come. I think it would be wise of us who know the Lord Jesus as Savior and King to walk these years of Obama’s presidency as a foreshadowing of the Tribulation that is to come when the real Anti-Christ appears.
This is what I expect and what I urge each of you to do. As in the Tribulation revealed in Scripture there will be a time of ‘peace’ and prosperity; likewise, I am expecting early on in Obama’s reign for there to be an upswing in the economy. I expect there to be such an improvement that those who voted for him will some openly and some silently gloat that they were right about him and we were wrong. I think such a season of prosperity will ‘endear’ him even more to those who voted for him and even deceive others who do not walk closely with the Holy Spirit. When the season of prosperity has done its work, Obama will crack his whip against the Christian Church and the economic picture will go even darker, for some, than we have thus far experienced. My ‘counsel’ to you is when the economic upswing begins, do not be fooled, rather be wise. Romans 13: 8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. Get out of debt as fast as you can – make no new debts; save in as safe a venue as you can every dollar you can; invest your money, your heart, your mind and your time in the Kingdom of God, invest your prayers and even your dollars (if the Lord leads) in the safety of Israel. Prepare for famine in the feast time. Speak every word of the Gospel of Jesus Christ you can to every soul you can before serious persecution comes – this will prepare you to be faithful when the going gets tough.
You think I am nuts? You would not be the first. I would think I am too if I did not know that I am not smart enough to come up with this on my own. Neither on my own would I be prepared to say this: the presidency of Barack Hussein Obama is God’s gift of mercy to America. Not because he is a King David. No, he is more like a King Saul – what you get when you demand you own way.
I am excited to see what Father will unfold in the next while. And I am excited to see what He can do with a ‘no body’ like me in these last days. Most assuredly, ABBA is dealing with America in mercy, that is what we asked Him to do. His lavish kindnesses did not bring America to her knees in worship, maybe sovereignly-controlled hardship will. And without a doubt persecution will purge the Christian Church. To Him be the Glory!
ABBA You are Awesome and I am delighted with You. Thank You for the great mercy You have poured out on us and the plans for good that You have for us. Thank You that I can now pray for Obama and Michelle. DADDY GOD have mercy and if at all possible bring them to the place they will receive Your Wisdom and will welcome You Holy Spirit within them to guide and empower them for Your Glory and the repentance of America. Whatever you want me to do for Israel, I am willing for you to empower me with the wisdom and resources to do it. I pray You will now motivate me and will lead me to and empower me to memorize the portions of Your Word I need to memorize and to heed and minister Your Word to as many others as You call me to do so. I pray You will overwhelm me with a love for You and others like I have never known. I pray You will motivate and empower my beloved and I to get the financial resources You have given and will give in the order You know we need. I pray You will rebuke the devourer from not only our monetary resources but our physical well being, as well as our minutes and hours. Prosper us O LORD in these day not for our comfort but for Your Glory and good of Your Kingdom. And Father, I pray that as many IDOKs as You will call will rise to meet You in this for Jesus sake. Amen and amen.
2 Corinthians 2:14 Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. 15 For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.
