Tippy-Toes

Out with the old, in with the new. You have heard the saying, right?

Today seems to be a good day to bring it up – the last day of 2025.
Out with the old and in with the new. Not to be a party pooper, but it’s just another day, isn’t it? And yet it’s my favorite.
To be done with the old, wide-eyed, stretching tippy toes for that new beginning just hours away. A new canvas to paint a new landscape, better, brighter, bolder than the one finishing up today.
And, of course, there’s the food.
Black-eyed peas, collards or cabbage, and cornbread. Eat like that all year, and we’d all be healthier in body and finances by year’s end.

Have I always been this enthusiastic about a new year? Actually, no.
It took time with JESUS to get here. He had to give me a new nature and a Biblical worldview to bring me here. It’s good to be here.
I expect if He gives me all the days of 2026, when I arrive here again, I will again be on tippy toes looking to the next horizon. How about you?

17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come!
18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation
19 that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting men’s trespasses against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation.
20 Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ: Be reconciled to God.

21 God made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.  2 Corinthians 5

Happy New Year, Friends!

Shall we spend our days looking for open windows of harmony and encouragement one to another? Yes, I think that would please The LORD, don’t you?

Jars of Clay

Scripture reading always brings thoughts to me.
The line of reasoning that I’m about to present began with jars of clay in 2 Corinthians 4:7; however, to understand this, ‘Treasure in our jars of clay’ we must go back to verse 6 to identify the Treasure.

Of course, our Treasure is JESUS, and because of Him, we have a message to proclaim to the world and encouragement to give to one another.

With that groundwork laid, I’m here to say, The Gospel of JESUS CHRIST is not given to us to beat people up with. We are not to take Scripture to prove ourselves right and others wrong.

Again, the Gospel is not to beat people up with it, but rather to show them the way out of their misery.
Now, if they don’t see themselves in misery, they are not yet ready to receive The Good News — but by GOD’s grace and our prayers, they will get there.

So, Scripture is not to push people down; it’s to lift them up and out.
Please don’t miss the out part.
JESUS’ Gospel doesn’t condemn people; people are condemned already.
Remember John 3:16 and 17?
So, Scripture is a weapon, but it is not a weapon to be used against one another, but rather against our enemy (and that’s a whole other post).

Wrapping up here, we must not use the Gospel (The Scriptures) to put people in their place. I’ve been guilty of trying to do this. I repent!
Instead, by His grace and in His Love, we shall be conduits, seeing the power of the Scripture set captives all around us free of sin and misery!
Let me phrase this way: Scripture is not for us to prove a point; it is to POINT — Point People to JESUS.

I want to do this! You too?
