I don’t mind telling you with this one, I shouted, cried and clapped sitting right here before you and this computer screen. O Hallelujah THE SAVIOR HAS COME!!

The SON of DAVID, legal and HOLY heir to the Throne of David, is JESUS CHRIST THE LORD!!  (Matthew 1:1-18)

I’ve been studying for Sunday School this morning in chapters 1 and 2 of Matthew and I’m about to give away part of my preparing for class ’cause for sure at least one faithful IDOK (and Reader)  is a member of the class.

Per chance any one of us should be waiting and praying and waiting for ABBA to bring something to fruition I want us to ‘take heart’ today. Our ABBA, GOD and KING takes His Word, His Promises S E R I O U S L Y! Not one thing He ever says He will do, does He not do!

Just in two chapters alone in the book of Matthew is recorded by Him for us these words:

Chapter 1, verse 22: “Now all this took place TO FULFILL what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet.”

Chapter 2, verse 15: “He remained there until the death of Herod. This was TO FULFILL what had been spoken by the Lord through the prophet: “OUT OF EGYPT I CALLED MY SON.”

Verse 17: “Then what had been spoken through Jeremiah the prophet WAS FULFILLED:”

Verse 23: “and came and lived in a city called Nazareth. This was TO FULFILL what was spoken through the prophets: “He shall be called a Nazarene.”

Our AWESOME, LOVING GOD means what He says and says what He means and He makes sure it comes to be. So if you have come to the Word of God and He has spoken His Word over you and confirmed in your Spirit by His Spirit that He will do such and such; Honey, you can take that PROMISE NOTE to the BANK of HEAVEN and you will be rewarded the full face value written thereon!  You MUST hold onto it until MATURITY, and based upon the Character and the Word of our HOLY GOD and FATHER it will be so!! (If you don’t mind, let me point you to another [IDOK] post for more encouragement, Did You Check the Attic? ).

Oh, ABBA, this is so GOOD. Thank You. Thank You. And HOLY SPIRIT, I pray right now with my sisters and brothers that You will anoint me to minister Your Word and serve Your People on Sunday Morning; but not just Sunday Morning in Sunday School but anywhere and everywhere You will privilege me to do so. I pray to be accurate and filled with love for You and People always.

And as it has come to mind, I pray for Jessica, the young woman in Walmart last night and her beau, Joshua, that was so fun – thank You – I pray for them now; for strength and courage to do right, to trust, to wait and lean hard upon You as they seek to know what You have for them.  And not just for them but for these too – Praying for These – I am honored for the privilege of bringing each name before You this day. I know You love them, I know Your heart is for them, to do good for them and even through them for others and so I and we are entrusting them and their needs and even their wants to You and as always we include our IDOK Troops too for safety and protection and wisdom and right decisions and safe and sound homecomings. And there are other matters no doubt, many that are represented by every precious one who comes to read and pray at this screen.  I ask You, ABBA, in the Name and through the BLOOD and RIGHTEOUSNESS of JESUS to tend them, to encourage them and bring them up a step higher in fellowship with You today. And in particular Elaine comes to mind, comfort and bless and heal her I pray in JESUS NAME. Amen and amen.

Did You Check The Attic?

Friday is such a good day!

Luke 11:13 “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?”

The chapter is encouraging us to believe that we can ask God and He will hear and He will answer; that He will even give us what we ask.   In verses 11 and 12 He paints a contrast for us; a contrast to help us understand His nature and care for us.

An imperfect father, a man with the nature of sin coursing his veins, even he when his child asks, responds.  And does he respond with hurtful gifts?  Of course not! SO if sinful man can give what is beneficial, what is kind and helpful; how is it that we doubt that the Perfect, Holy God who is LOVE would give less than what is perfectly suited and spilling over with love to His children?

But you know what I noticed when I read verse 13?  JESUS only speaks of ONE Gift.  He does not use the plural here.  And the Gift is not a thing, but a PERSON, The Holy Spirit.  Is JESUS saying to us that when the Father gives us the  Gift of the HOLY SPIRIT, He has given us HIMSELF and in HIM is the answer to our every request, our every need, our every want?  I think that is exactly what He has said to us!

Every soul who has indeed received this GIFT from the Father, already has the answer to every request we have asked or ever will ask.  I am reminded in this moment of a much loved evangelistic (and I’m unsure who; was it Vance Havner or Manley Beasley?) who would say (my paraphrase, of course), ‘The bicycle is already in the attic, you just got to pray it down’; or something like that.

The point is  there is NOTHING that you and I need that we don’t already have ‘title’ to; but we may need to pray it down from the attic in order to lay our hands on it and ride it around the block.

Why does DADDY GOD do it this way?  I think it’s because He loves us and the only way we are going to get to KNOW Him (which is what HE really wants) is to ‘work’ with Him for the things we need and want in the here and now.  Anybody with me on this?

Well, DADDY GOD, we are about ready to rest another one for posting.  I pray it will bless, encourage and even bring a smile to the faces of those who read it.  And I pray as it is read the Reader will hear You speaking to them and that they will experience Your love for them a bit more than before. Holy Spirit, thank You for coming to live within us and for revealing ABBA to us and for applying to us the BLOOD of JESUS that has washed us clean.  I pray You will give peace and rest to all our IDOKS.  I have some folks on my mind, I don’t like the season they are having to live in right now and I’d very much like for You to heal and relieve their pain and until You do I am asking for grace and strength and peace and comfort and  every other good thing that I can’t think to name. And, of course, there’s the IDOK Troops, they are daily with us, daily asking for safety and protection; but more than that I really want those men and women to be just crazy in love with You. I really want all of us to be that way.  And there are all those precious people represented by names on our Praying for These list.  It’s sobering to ponder all their situations and circumstances; we cannot even comprehend it all; but You know and You are so good and faithful, so we just commend them to You again for their ‘daily bread’. And Jackson. I can’t even get words around that, ABBA.  What Ashley and Steve and Melinda and the others must be inhaling and exhaling through.  I couldn’t do it without You and I pray they are experiencing You holding and loving and caring for them.  And Jackson.  I’m just gonna ask You to save him; to heal him and make him whole.  And with all these I know the only reason we can bring them to You is because of JESUS and so in Him we offer these prayers and petitions.  Amen and amen.
