Wishful Thinking?

Well, let me share.

I was standing in the back yard and I said: “I love this place.” And no voice did I hear but gently on the screen of mind came this: “If you think you love this place, just wait till you get home.”

1 Corinthians 2:9 (NKJV) But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” source

Did the Holy Spirit of GOD speak those words to me this morning or was it just me – wishful thinking? The day will come that I will know but until then Scripture says it’s true.

John 14:2 (TLV) In My Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? source

Perhaps you would take a moment or two and allow Him to reveal from His Word what He has prepared for you.

We have the Right to do Right in this Wrong World,  Kathie

Troubled?

Does death ever trouble you? I mean that last breath of earthly oxygen? I mean you have not died before, right?  Do you know with certainty what to expect when you die?

The passages we are sharing today are found in John 14 and it begins this way:

“Do not let your heart be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in Me. SOURCE

So what were they troubled about? Perhaps many things but particularly separation from JESUS.  At this setting, they were in the Upper Room. They had finished their last Passover meal with JESUS, He had washed their feet and He was continuing to prepare them for His imminent death.

And He tells them to let not their hearts be troubled. And the way to do that was and is TRUST. Trust the FATHER. Trust JESUS. Trust the HOLY SPIRIT. Trust the ONE GOD of the Bible.

Heaven.

How do you know there is a Heaven? I mean do you really know there is a heaven – we have not been there yet?  Do such questions ever sneak into your thoughts? Even just briefly?

This is how I send them packing!

In My Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to Myself, so that where I am you may also be.  SOURCE

Simple! JESUS said so. What more do I need?

Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people. This makes my soul smile!

Milk Bottles

Today.

I walked passed our bed; it was unmade; ah it’s 2:45 just leave it. No, not going to do it; beds sleep better when the wrinkles of the night before have been smoothed away. So I did. img_7042

And now I’m here, telling on myself. 🙂

I started my day earlier than usual. A good thing. Then I derailed myself. Dreaming. VRBO.com  I started out with a valid purpose looking for away from home lodgings and then my looking went AWOL! That’s how the bed was still unmade at 2:45. At first I was discouraged, telling myself look at all that time you wasted dreaming about stuff that’s not gonna happen. Nope! Not going there. ABBA, You can do anything! And if You will these dreams can be and will be real. And if not all is still well.

Earlier it was raining. Now the sun is shining. The house is mostly quiet except for the sound of the washer; late but not too late to start a load of towels.

So what’s all this rambling?

Start where you are. The milk is spilled. We can’t put it back in the bottle but we can clean it up and pour a new glass whatever time of day it is!

21 But in my mind I keep returning to something,
something that gives me hope —
22 that the grace of Adonai is not exhausted,
that his compassion has not ended.
23 [On the contrary,] they are new every morning!
How great your faithfulness!
24 Adonai is all I have,” I say;
“therefore I will put my hope in him.  [source Lamentations 3 CJB]

Again I say start where you are. The milk is spilled. We can’t put it back in the bottle but we can clean it up and pour a new glass whatever time of day it is!

. . .  Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation. [source 2 Corinthians 6:2 NLT]

To paraphrase: right now is the time to save this day! Fret not about what was but start right now to redeem what is!

Perhaps I’m not the only one who really likes this! I am helped. I am smiling! Big! 🙂

You should too. JESUS loves you. And you can start again right now!

Pass the milk please! 🙂

Assurance

Sunday 5:00 ish PM

This morning assured me again that my practice of consistently listening only to Christian music is a good choice for me. Lyrics often drift gently through my mind as I am stirring in the mornings. This morning a song came barging its way; it was a song I had heard a week earlier as I was traveling with others (not a sin glamorizing tune, just not one on my steady diet list) even so I quickly shewed it away countering it with Blessed Assurance Jesus is mine oh what a foretaste of glory divine.  Ah so much better. 🙂

Here, take a listen! It just might make your day. 🙂

Precious Souls

Day 39
327 days remaining after today.

Okay. I want to think this through with you. It comes from Matthew Henry ministering from the Text of Matthew 9.

Precious souls faint when duty is to be done,
 temptations to be resisted,
afflictions to be borne,
being not nourished up with the word of truth.

Henry, M. (1994). Matthew Henry’s commentary on the whole Bible: Complete and unabridged in one volume (1658). Peabody: Hendrickson.

Let me unpack this with you the way it has spoken to me. First all souls are precious to our GOD and all us souls have duty(ties) to do; day in and day out, morning till night and beyond there are tasks and chores and work and stuff to get done. With me? And all us souls while we are pushing through these tasks and chores and stuff, we are going to be tempted to do them just to get it done, any ol way will do, or non-ethically, or by some means other than the righteous way. Added to that, afflictions will come and we are expected to bear up under them, to take them in stride, to deal with them. This is the lot of all souls on this planet since the beginning of time. Well, since the fall of man in the garden, actually. So all of us we get this. This is life. Right?

Now we get to the best part of what I think Matthew Henry saw in Matthew 9. Something has been provided. Because without it, all us precious souls will faint!

With the nourishment of THIS WORD – HIS WORD we live! And we live well!

I’ll tell ya, this precious soul feels loved and instructed and comforted and  flat-out happy about this little nugget of truth. I am a precious soul. You are a precious soul!  ♥

Here’s our takeaway for the day: He has given us His Word to nourish us and keep us from fainting in this world that is often hard on us, precious souls. 🙂

ABBA, thank You. Thank You for men of old that loved You and gave themselves to the study and teaching of Your Word; thank You for teaching them and for the recordings of those teachings and thank You HOLY SPIRIT that You continue to teach all us precious souls. Thank You. Thank You for loving us. Thank You for providing every nourishment we need to live well in YESHUA’s mighty name.
