Fat Hearts and All (again)

ABBA, Presently, I am praising You for Dori’s progress and trusting for much more recovery. And presently remembering also other saints who have received reports that are impossible to bear reports without Your goodness and grace poured out on them. Don comes to mind. Kerri and Diana too. Lily, oh ABBA, that precious little child – no way for her Mom and Dad to get their understanding around this. So I pray they will lean not to their own understanding but in all this acknowledge You and lean on You and allow You to lead and guide them through this. And Lily, still I pray for her full recovery and restoration to her family. And the specific unspokens, oh there are more than a few of those within this IDOK circle and I confess for all who are in agreement that we trust You to attend our specifics specifically as only You can. Thank You for every home into which this post will appear, I pray for the knowledge of You to increase in each place, and in each home and life as needed lavish them with grace, mercy, conviction, repentance, restoration, mending and healing, and a hunger and thirst for righteousness, on and on, LORD, You know the needs in detail. I am rejoicing that You are willing and I pray we shall be too. Amen and amen in Your Name, JESUS.

Fat Hearts And All  To read at its original post click here

I’m still off my beaten path this morning and I have my doubts that I am firing on all pistons (hmmm, that’s not much of an explanation; when am I ever firing on all pistons?)  But ABBA always is.
I read Psalm 17, among other passages, and one verse in particular I read over and over, but before I leave you with that one let us consider a portion of David’s Prayer recorded for us to see the heart of David here.
6 I have called upon You, for You will hear me, O God; Incline Your ear to me, and hear my speech.
7 Show Your marvelous lovingkindness by Your right hand, O You who save those who trust in You From those who rise up against them.
8 Keep me as the apple of Your eye; Hide me under the shadow of Your wings,
9 From the wicked who oppress me, From my deadly enemies who surround me.
10 They have closed up their fat hearts; With their mouths they speak proudly.
11 They have now surrounded us in our steps; They have set their eyes, crouching down to the earth,
12 As a lion is eager to tear his prey, And like a young lion lurking in secret places.
These should be comforting words to us whatever the source of opposition or pain.  Our God is well aware of the ‘fat hearts’ around us; He is well aware that the guns have been aimed and Christians are in the ‘site’ of the ungodly BUT
14 . . .   From men of the world who have their portion in this life,
Have their portion in this life; and then David said:
15 As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness.
As for me, I will.  As for you, you will Choose to see that our God is righteous in ALL that He allows and in ALL that He does and the more like Him we yield ourselves to be the more satisfied we are in the here and now AND one day when we AWAKEN at HOME we will be like HIM!

Remember our promise:

Deut 30:6 And the LORD your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.

Amen and Amen

A Sea of Faces
The original post was on my Blogspot blog – I no longer have that one.

Original post day: FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2009

A quick observation – standing in the park with not less than 3 bus loads of 2nd graders, watching them play as a group and finding it oh so difficult to keep my eyes on a certain one as she moved in and out amongst all the others, I was reminded of something.  I had difficulty knowing where Isabel was every second on the playground, but Father does not have that problem – He sees each one of us individually, and at all times He knows individually exactly where we are, where we have been, and where we will be; what we are thinking, what we have thought and what we will think; what we are doing, what we have done and what we will do.  He is that AWESOME!  And you and I; well, we may see ourselves as insignificant, less than a drop in the sea of humanity, but nothing could be further from the truth.  Your lovely face your Father beholds continually.  He NEVER loses sight of you and you are NEVER too far from Him that He is not with you.

Isaiah 49:15-17 (Amplified Bible)
15 [And the Lord answered] Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, they may forget, yet I will not forget you.16 Behold, I have indelibly imprinted (tattooed a picture of) you on the palm of each of My hands; [O Zion] your walls are continually before Me.
Father, thank You that we are individually a face You love, not one of us gets lost in the sea of faces.  You are SO AWESOME!  And we bring all these individual faces this morning for them to receive from You strength and hope and courage and enlightenment this day.  . . .  You have given us a huge ministry here in prayer.  That is the heart, the core of this ministry; it is amazing that You would entrust it to us and we want to be faithful.  Thank You for enabling us day by day to be faithful.
And as we daily do we pray for our IDOK Troops for their safety and protection.  Thank You for Your faithfulness to them and to us.   We pray they will each come home at the appointed times safe and sound to embrace and be embraced by loving families and friends.

And, Father, I pray for our IDOKS, each individual face, and ask You to shine upon them, to lift up their faces, lift up their countenances and give them peace, the peace that passes all our understandings and this I asked in the Lovely and Holy Name of Christ Jesus, our Savior, and Lord.  Amen and amen.

Old Fishing Holes (again)

Old Fishing Holes

I am continuing to read in John 21. And my first thought seems ‘out there’ but I’ll share it anyway. Look with me at verse 7.

7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it), and plunged into the sea.

Without doing some research and even then I am not certain I could ascertain how many days post the Resurrection, Peter and the Boys went fishing; but nevertheless, they were fishing. Maybe Peter was trying to get on with his life and the Others decided to follow him. (Makes me think we should be careful where we go, others may follow.) They had all seen Jesus since His Resurrection, but I think they were clueless at that moment as to what the Resurrection was to mean to them for the rest of their earthly lives. So they did what came naturally. They went fishing. And going fishing in and of itself may not be bad. But IF going fishing represents going back to doing things the OLD way because the NEW way seems impossible or at best, unclear; then ‘fishing’ isn’t a good plan. BUT GOD is sovereign even over our sojourns back into OLD WAYS. And by now you may be saying, “Kathie, how did you get this from verse 7”? As I said it’s ‘out there’ and getting more out there, I think. Verse 7 says that Peter had taken off his outer garment while fishing. And maybe there are times when that is okay. We do need proper work attire, don’t we? But when he saw Jesus he put his garment back on and plunged into the sea to get to Jesus as fast as he could. So I am thinking verse 7 is a picture of restoration. A picture of starting again. And as you read the rest of Chapter 21, that is what happened with Peter. Jesus had come to where Peter was to ‘restore’ him. Work with me here, this is good I think. I hope. Recall with me that Peter denied the Lord prior to His crucifixion. Lets phrase that this way. Peter took off his ‘garment of praise’. Peter was scared. Too scared to praise the Lord. Too scared to even admit he was a disciple.

So when I read verse 7 I thought you know when we go back to an old practice that is what we do in a way. We take off our ‘garment of praise’ and we practice our old ways of fear, doubt, griping, complaining, selfishness, etc. Etc. And while we are practicing our old ways, just as Peter and the Boys did not catch any fish, we are not catching any ‘fish’ for the Kingdom of God. But when we find ourselves or I should say when Jesus comes and finds us in our old fishing hole, if we will look up, focus on HIM, and put on again our ‘garment of praise’, we will be restored. We can then delve into deep water or maybe even ‘walk’ on it (I know that’s a different story) and begin again to fellowship with Jesus, catch a few fish and maybe even feed a few of His sheep. The point is if we keep on our garments of praise, we won’t go back to our same old fishing hole.

Abba, thank You for this lesson. Thank You for what You have done in these recent days and I ask You to continue to raise Yourself up in us. I pray for more and more insight into You and Your Ways, not just for the knowledge alone but so we can obey You more fully. . . .  Thank You for protecting our IDOK Troops and Families. Thank You for Your Hand upon Your People. And we continue to pray for America, for grace and space to repent. . . . Father, please forgive and save America. And Holy Spirit, revive and refresh Christian Churches to holy living both in voice and deed for Jesus sake. Amen and amen.
