IDOK DEVOTION FOR TUESDAY, JULY 14, 2009

I am still working in my workbook, Me, Myself & Lies and the Holy Spirit is still using it to speak Truth to me and I am so very grateful! On page 69 this is what His servant Jennifer wrote: “The Holy Spirit will not shout down the noise of our busy world to counsel you. He won’t try to silence all the racket in your thought closet to be heard. To hear His counsel, we have to quiet ourselves and truly listen.”

Quiet ourselves. What does that say to you? To me it says I am responsible to bring myself to stillness and quietness (or at least be willing to allow Him to do it) long enough to hear Him. I am responsible to tell the racket in my thought closet and on the ‘page’ of my schedule to HUSH long enough to hear Him. And I am certain if I will quiet myself, He will speak; aren’t you?

Isaiah 32:

17 And the effect of righteousness will be peace [internal and external], and the result of righteousness will be quietness and confident trust forever.

18 My people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, in safe dwellings, and in quiet resting-places.

These are ‘telling’ verses. They tell us why it is we lack quietness – a failure to practice righteousness.

ABBA, this is not one of those feel good messages; except that hearing You speak strong and direct is far, far better than not hearing You at all. Thank You, and I pray for quietness for all our IDOKs and families. We continue to pray for these listed here, asking for quietness and peace for every soul. ABBA, I am posting this here in prayer as a daily prayer and I am praying as pure in motive as I know how today, asking that You by whatever ways and means You choose, see to the removal from office of every elected Official in Washington and all 50 States that is not sensitive to and is not inclined to work to preserve Judaeo-Christian values and the Constitution of this Nation in its Original Intent. Lord, I am so sorry that many (and thank You not all) offices of this Nation are filled with corrupt, reprobate-minded people who have no regard for You or Your Word and if I have done anything that has contributed to the election of these people, please forgive me and stop me from any further actions that will damage and bring this Nation to complete ruin. I pray Holy Spirit that You will stir the hearts and prayers of enough people to bring this Nation to repentance and will clean and cleanse the offices and the Officials of this Nation. Father God, please have mercy on us. Lord Jesus, clean Washington even as You did the Temple if need be. And Lord some weeks later since this prayer began we have word from one of those Alabama officials that he wants our prayers, that he is mindful of You, that he does love You and obviously he is well acquainted with Your Word. And ABBA I am so delighted and grateful for this man and for others like him, so for each of them (and You know who they are, Lord) we pray that You will anoint and empower them to stand firm and holy in these places of service You have given them and Lord please bring others alongside to stand with them and help them. And as he suggested move us to be involved in the political process with more than just our prayers according to the individual will You have for each of us. IDOK DEVOTION FOR MONDAY, JULY 13, 2009

Due to my neglect all weekend to sit before the Lord for the purpose of writing an IDOK (not to say I did not commune with Him all weekend – how horrible for me that would be) and due to the lateness of this hour, I have this brief word – a lesson for us all.

Hebrews 2:1 Since all this is true, we ought to pay much closer attention than ever to the truths that we have heard, lest in any way we drift past [them] and slip away.

We can only speculate who it was that ABBA allowed the privilege to pen these words. Some theologians think it was Paul and others think another. Truth is it does not matter for the Author is surely our God and He is speaking to us. May we in these days pay much closer attention, lest in this time of rampant carnality we drift past and slip away. May that not be so of any of us! A Happy, Holy and Blessed MONDAY to you all.

This, in part, is from Marzelle’s daughter: She has thallium stress test Tues & that

will determine whether she can have the surgery. Thank you for your prayers. We have seen and experienced many miracles. Mother is encouraged and has new hope.

The earliest date my brother, Donald, can get an appointment with his Oncologist is August 4th. Then the doctor will schedule his surgery to remove the lymph node(s). Then we will have to wait several days to get the pathology report on the lymph nodes. Please pray for the Lord to give Donald His perfect peace while he is waiting for these procedures and also pray that no cancer cells will be found in the lymph nodes, if it be God’s will. ABBA, it is our desire to pay more attention to You, to Your Word, to the Truth You have given us by which we live. Thank You for this Word this morning. It is plenty, more than plenty for us to meditation upon today. We thank You for the good report thus far for Marzelle and for Donald and we pray for more to come. We pray for good reports for each of these listed here below as time comes and goes. We pray for safety and protection for our IDOK Troops and safe returns home for all of them. Thank You that Chad in particular is home safely and now that he is we pray he will find a renewed niche and serve here even more faithfully in Your Army, ABBA. IDOK DEVOTION FOR FRIDAY, JULY 10, 2009

Maybe now that it is after 8:30 PM on Thursday and I have blogged a ‘hissing’ at Kat’s Meows, I can settle down enough to write something helpful to you all and to myself. This has been a day from (for Jerry’s benefit) h e double hockey sticks and I have no one to blame but ME! I’ll spare you the details, sufficient to say it would have been wise of me to have practiced the teachings found in Me, Myself & Lies. But I didn’t — until now. How it is that ABBA even puts up with me, is amazing grace!!

Hebrews 1 (21st Century King James Version)

1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spoke in times past unto the fathers by the prophets,

2 hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He hath appointed Heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds,

3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

I began reading Hebrews 1, this excellent portion of God’s Word to us and was thinking surely something will hit me to write, right away. And so I read verse 1, okay; verse 2, okay. Hmmm, this is powerful stuff but nothing is ‘highlighted’. Then verse 3, there it is – highlighted and soothing to a needy heart! “When He had by Himself purged our sins”; Purged our sins, He Himself, by Himself. Jesus alone purges the sin from sinners. No one else, only Jesus; and the text reads past-tense. That is so important, especially today – my sins ARE purged; every stinking last one of them – purged! But, hey, what does this word purge mean? Free Dictionary.com says:

a. To free from impurities; purify.

b. To remove (impurities and other elements) by or as if by cleansing.

2. To rid of sin, guilt, or defilement.

3. Law To clear (a person) of a charge or an imputation. Often used with respect to contempt of court.

Is that good or what?! Purified. Free. Cleansed. All charges dropped, dismissed!! Oh I needed that! Maybe right now you don’t, but give it some time and you will and when you do I hope you will remember Hebrews 1:3.

Dear Friends, My brother just received his pathology report. The Stage 3 Melanoma cancer was thicker than 1 millimeter, so he has been referred to an Oncologist for further treatment. The doctor will remove a lymph node to see if the cancer has spread. PLEASE pray that it has not spread to his lymph system. Thank you, La Juanna

LORD GOD, only love could cause You to do what You do, keep us clean, keep us free from the defilement and penalty of sin. Thank You. And Holy Spirit only You can highlight this passage of Scripture and cause it to bring forth fruit in us and that is what I am asking You to do in our IDOKs, including me. We can certainly agree with LaJuanna’s heart’s desire that her brother’s lymph nodes be free of cancer. You can speak this into being and we pray You have. In this moment and other times this day Katie B has come to mind and we pray that You will heal this precious little girl. We pray for all these listed here; it’s hard to even consider all the cancer and other bodily malfunctions represented on this page in all these names. Without You to console and speak comfort and strength and peace over us and into us we would despair living. Our hope is built on You alone and we are glad about that. So for Steve and Janet and Mollie B and Doug, WC, Brian, all of these, every one of them, Father, just do Your Thing for them; and our IDOK Troops, Israel, just anything and everything on our hearts, all of it; mold us, shape us and fix us for Your Glory. IDOK DEVOTION FOR THURSDAY, JULY 9, 2009

I heard Joyce Meyer say, “some folks want enough of Jesus to get them out of hell but they don’t want enough of Him to live in victory.” You know what I say? Some folks want enough of Jesus to get them out of hell but they don’t want enough of Him to get the hell out of them.

Coiling and Curling

Did you know when you are coiling up the cord to your iron or hair dryer if you will start as close to the base of the appliance as you can get with your first coil (especially if the appliance cord is made longer with an extension cord) and then work to the plug, the cord will be less kinked when you unwind it the next time? And that got me to thinking ‘spiritually’ while I was coiling today. Our messes (all kinds of messes, family or friend relationships, money, possessions, dreams, hopes – all kinds of stuff) can best be un-kinked if we begin closest to the base (that is our own hearts before God) and start curling up right close, right there on His Lap and as we do we will notice those near and those long distance kinks will eventually loosen up. But if I insist on starting the coil at the plug, that cord gets more and more twisted; so kinked and twisted it has in time passed become just a tad frustrating. And spiritually speaking, if I start trying to un-kink others before I allow Jesus to un-kink me, well things tend to get just a tad frustrating. Just an observation, for what it’s worth.

Luke 6:

46Why do you call Me, Lord, Lord, and do not [practice] what I tell you?

47 For everyone who comes to Me and listens to My words [in order to heed their teaching] and does them, I will show you what he is like:

48 He is like a man building a house, who dug and went down deep and laid a foundation upon the rock; and when a flood arose, the torrent broke against that house and could not shake or move it, because it had been securely built or founded on a rock.

49 But he who merely hears and does not practice doing My words is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation, against which the torrent burst, and immediately it collapsed and fell, and the breaking and ruin of that house was great.

Kathie, Please send out a special prayer request for my brother, Donald. He had a stage 3 melanoma cancer removed Monday. He should get the test results back tomorrow (Thursday). If the thickness of the cancer exceeds 1 millimeter at any point, he will need further procedures. The doctor did not elaborate on what those would be. Thank you, La Juanna

ABBA, I don’t know what You can or will do with this coiling observation but this I do know it is so much better if I curl up with You and know Your heart before I give a ‘piece of my mind’ to anyone else. Curling up on Your Lap with my head on Your Chest hearing Your Heart is the safest and most wonderful place on earth to be. Teach me, train me to be so positioned more and more often. And I pray that too for our IDOKs.

And we pray for Donald and Doug; both men are much loved by family and friends, so many hearts want them to be made well and we are trusting Your heart for them, Lord. And we are privileged to bring these others listed here for healing and help too. Thank You for allowing us to pray for these; thank You for allowing us to be a part of the work You are doing in them and through them for Your own glory and for their good and well being. Thank You for Your eternal plans and purposes for these and for those who loved them enough to request that we pray. We commit all this to You, our IDOK Troops, the Peace of Israel, the cleansing of America, the economy, the unrest in leaders and lands, and the Spreading of Your Gospel into all the world and however You can work through us in any of this we want to serve, Lord. And Lord some weeks later since this prayer began we have word from one of those Alabama officials that he wants our prayers, that he is mindful of You, that he does love You and obviously he is well acquainted with Your Word. And ABBA I am so delighted and grateful for this man and for others like him, so for each of them (and You know who they are, Lord) we pray that You will anoint and empower them to stand firm and holy in these places of service You have given them and Lord please bring others alongside to stand with them and help them. And as he suggested move us to be involved in the political process with more than just our prayers according to the individual will You have for each of us. Again, Lord, thank You for this news, thank You for what You are doing. Amen and amen.
