This comes from October 1, 2003
Good Morning! Have you read the Word lately just for the sheer joy of reading it? Have you allowed the Word to pour over you and comfort you; to just love on you today? Please do. I ask you to make a decision to give the Scriptures a place of priority, a place of honor, make them a royal treasure in your heart and allow them to govern your thoughts and deeds. I am poignantly aware these days how blessed I am to have and hold and read and BELIEVE the Bible. I am so grateful that it is not a dead book to me but a living one; so grateful that when I read it, I do believe it. And when I read it and heed it, God actually lives in and works His Life through me to others. What a gift! And yes, I do mean gift! It is a wondrous Gift from God that we BELIEVE the Scripture; a gift that I had taken for granted. I am grateful for His reminder that BELIEVING and HEEDING the Word is a priceless treasure!
So let me tell you what I read this morning in Luke 18. You may recall that beginning in verse 1 of 18, Jesus is telling a parable; He is giving a earthly example with a spiritual message. It’s the one about the woman who had a need and she pestered the Judge to defend and protect her from the one who was opposing her. But the Judge paid her no mind at first BUT she kept on and on until he determined he would do as she asked just so she would leave Him alone. No doubt you have heard it preached that we are to be just so when praying, to be just so persistent and that is so. But be very careful here. We do not want to get the wrong impression of Our Father. Some have you know! Our God is not one that we have to “pester” to get Him to do what we want Him to do. The parable is to encourage us by CONTRAST; if a man who has no regard, no respect for God or man, will be swayed to do what is asked of him simply by persistence, CAN YOU IMAGINE WHAT OUR LOVING FATHER WILL DO WHEN WE, HIS CHILDREN, CONSISTENLY COME TO HIM WITH OUR DESIRES AND CRIES OF OUR HEART?
Verses 8 and 9: And will not [Our Just] God defend and protect and avenge His elect (His Chosen Ones), who cry to Him day and night? Will He defer them and delay help on their behalf? I tell you, He will defend and protect and avenge them speedily. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find [persistence in] faith on the earth?
Do you see that promise from Jesus Himself? Father is attentive to your every word and you can be assured that He will defend you, protect you and He will deal with all your adverse situations; He will not put your needs on the back burner and say I will get to it, when I get around to it. No! Even before you pray, even before you travail with that burden, He has the answer already in the works BUT if you want the FULL EFFECT, the full joy of the answer when it comes, KEEP ON PRAYING, not because He forgets or does not care BUT BECAUSE WE FORGET AND BECOME CARE-LESS unless we continue to pray. Is that good or what?!
Father, thank you that you hear every word of our hearts and minds; thank you that you know us perfectly and that you not only know us but that you care for us like a Good Shepherd cares for His Sheep. Thank you that we are Sheep of Your Pasture and we are well cared for; that there is food and water and shelter and protection in abundance in Your Pasture, My Lord. And I ask you to keep me praying; to keep me persistent, not because You need it BUT because I do. And Father, you know what is on my heart, you know exactly what is there and you know exactly what I desire, please keep me faithful in it until you have removed all the obstacles to faith and you give birth here on earth to what I know is Your desire as well because Your Word says so. And Father, no doubt in this circle of my email family there are sisters (and brothers) who have such prayers as well; keep us faithful so we will appreciate in fullness your answers when we receive them for Jesus sake. Field Duty

IDOK DEVOTION FOR MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2008
Four of twenty five – a Great Recipe:
4- Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants, and eat less foods manufactured in plants.

Have you ever while traveling to church on Sunday morning, glanced out your window to see someone in your neighborhood mowing their lawn? What went through your mind in that moment? Was it there they are mowing their yard on Sunday, they should be going to church? Or maybe you have been walking in the mall and there was a youngster across the isle dressed rather revealingly. What were your first thoughts then? Did you think her attire was shameful and therefore she must be a heathen? Then did you corral your thinking and say to yourself that sounded rather critical? Then did you silently voice a please forgive me ABBA and Lord Jesus help me see people as You see them? Did the Holy Spirit then give you a passage of Scripture? Did He show you on the screen of your mind how The Lord saw/sees people? Did He remind you: Mark 6:34 And Jesus, when He came out, saw a great multitude and was moved with compassion for them, because they were like sheep not having a shepherd. So He began to teach them many things.
Matthew 9:36 But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. 37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”
I Peter 2: 25 For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
What if rather than criticizing our neighbors and the coming up generation, we began to pray. Not first for them but first for ourselves; asking The Holy Spirit to fill us with the compassion of the Lord Jesus so we could see these as sheep with no Shepherd. Sheep without THE SHEPHERD. Then no doubt we would be ready for ‘field duty’.
ABBA, thank You. There is no doubt You are calling us into the fields. What a privilege that is for us. Thank You for calling us. Thank You for this season of equipping that You are doing within us. Thank You for opening our eyes and our hearts to the people. Lord, we need and we ask for Your Compassion and for Your Eyes to see the people and You the Shepherd. ABBA, we have two particular unspoken requests. You know, Lord. You know the strength that is needed in each one. You know what needs to happen and it is for this we ask. And we bring our IDOK names, each listed one by one. And one by one, we see You the GREAT Shepherd seeking and looking and caring for these sheep. Thank You Lord. Amen and amen. Not A Thing

IDOK DEVOTION FOR FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 2008
Three of twenty five – a Great Recipe:
3- When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement,
My purpose is to __________ today. I am thankful for ___________.

Presently I am involved in two Bible Study groups; one meeting on Wednesday night and one on Friday morning. It’s a lot of ‘homework’. And a portion of the homework that I did today was to read Romans 8:38 and 39 and answer this question: What are those things that cannot separate you from God and His love? *
Romans 8: 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,
39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
This is the way I answered: death or life; angels or demons; nothing happening today or tomorrow; nothing above me or below me; nothing too small to see or too large to comprehend; NOTHING CREATED.
Death – 2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
Life – Philippians 1: 20 according to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death. 21 For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 22 But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell.
Angels – Hebrews 1: 13 But to which of the angels has He ever said: “ Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool”? 14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?
Demons – Colossians 2: 14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.
Today or Tomorrow: Hebrews 13: 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Above or Below: Psalm 139:7 Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? 8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, 10 Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me.
Small – Matthew 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. 30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
31 Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
Large – I Samuel 17: 49 Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth. 50 So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of David. 51 Therefore David ran and stood over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him, and cut off his head with it.
Nothing Created – Isaiah 42: 5 Thus says God the LORD, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread forth the earth and that which comes from it, Who gives breath to the people on it, And spirit to those who walk on it: 6 “ I, the LORD, have called You in righteousness, And will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, As a light to the Gentiles, 7 To open blind eyes, To bring out prisoners from the prison, Those who sit in darkness from the prison house. 16 I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, And crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, And not forsake them.
What more do we need to hear to convince us? Happy Pondering today and have a great weekend remembering and resting in the fact that NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, not even YOU, can separate you from ABBA in CHRIST JESUS.
ABBA Your Word is more than we can comprehend but we do believe – never have You nor shall You ever forsake us; nothing in all the universe is able to prevent You from loving us and keeping our best interest at the center of Your heart. Nothing has or ever shall over power You. You are forever supreme. Thank You. LORD I pray You will make these passages of Scripture alive in us. Thank You that we can again bring this list of names; that You have more than ample strength to give them today; abundant blessings of mercy, grace, and forgiveness. We confidently and happily intercede for our IDOK Troops today; for their safety, for inner peace and tranquility, for wisdom and discernment, for Scriptures promises to come to mind at just the right time and added to this we pray each will love You more today. We pray for their families and friends here at home to rest easy in You today. We are acutely aware of the economy crisis and we pray for viable solutions to be made plain and implemented timely. Our hope and our trust is in You LORD. We continue to pray for truth to be proclaimed and lies to be exposed, more and more as November 4 approaches. You know our hearts, you know our desires; we pray for voters with courage to vote Your Word, to vote LIFE in this election. We pray for allies and peace for Israel. We pray for repentance for America and for revival for Your Church. And again LORD, every name, situation and unspoken request, ABBA Thy will be done. Amen and amen. Jason A and his mother. Melinda H. Trisha. Patti’s Family. George. Brennan and his family. Joshua. Branson. The O’Brien family. Brooklyn. Families and communities hit by Gustav and Ike. Jacqueline and her boys, River and Jackson. Kim and her Fiancee. Jonathan. Mabel’s Aunt Lou. Heather and Brandon. Family from Olive Baptist. Bernie. Darlene. Edie G. Rachel. W C and family. His Ministry to You

We are glad you are here; stay a while, look around, and be encouraged. We estimate there to be over 3,000 posts here at The White Stone Blog. Please know my hope is ALWAYS to help and NEVER harm. I have voiced many opinions and thoughts here since 2007 and by now I MAY NOT EVEN AGREE with all of them and some of my grammar and punctuation likely needs editing. But this is changeless: JESUS is our ONLY Savior and Hope. Do you KNOW Him?
