Why?

IDOK DEVOTION for Thursday, September 27, 2007

Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen. Revelation 1: 7
And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life. I John 2:25

I think Wednesdays are one of my favorite days of the week; I get to see Beth Moore! And today was no exception. Today’s thesis was We Get to Ask Why! We get to ask why when that ‘cup’ we prayed NOT to drink, must be drank. She said it’s okay when the mini blinds are closed and the house is empty of all others, only you and God are home, to let out that groan from the depths of your gut, “Why, God, Why”? Drop to the carpet, prostrate if you will, pound the floor with your hands, weep and scream as loud as you may, kick your feet and cry out ‘Why, Lord, why’?
Matthew 26:
42 Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done.”
44 So He left them, went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.
Mark 15:
33 Now when the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.
34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which is translated, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”
Psalm 22:
1 My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? Why are You so far from helping Me, And from the words of My groaning?
2 O My God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not hear; And in the night season, and am not silent.
3 But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel.
And before we leave the carpet, let us also confess: ‘But You are holy! And I will praise You even in this’!
When we have a heart like this for our God Who does not make mistakes, we CAN ask WHY!
Beth told of a time when she did this – she dropped to the floor, she screamed, she pounded her fists, she kicked her feet and she cried, ‘WHY’? Father did not tell her why but when she arose from the carpet she felt better.
And then she gave us this nugget that Father gave her: even though her sorrow and her grief were so deep, so vast, it had come with the privilege of knowing and loving that little girl.
Loving someone deeply, loving someone more than your own breathing is a privilege; and yet with that privilege may come immense sorrow; sorrow so deep that we in our humanity, even as Our Lord, may ask WHY? You see we can only be moved so profoundly to ask Why, Lord, Why, when we have experienced a love that we wouldn’t have missed for the world – not even gut wrenching sorrow! And when we experience this, we don’t have to know why, but asking sure seems to help!

Pray for the Peace of Israel
Father, thank You for Beth; thank You that in You Jesus I can call her my sister. And more than that thank You that I can call You Father. Comfort those who have loved so deeply that asking Why is acceptable to You. You know Kevin and the children are in our hearts and on our lips and we lift them to You and we praise You for the legacy that Jennifer has given them. Thank You for the holy goodness that You are working in her Home Going. Bring alongside abundant people to bless them in these many pending months. And there are others grieving too; three other families that were told to me just hours ago, and for them we pray for peace and comfort too.
And thank You for our kinship with Israel and we pray for Her as a Sister and we pray for Her to soon embrace You as Her Messiah. Guide this Blessed Nation, give Her victory over all Her enemies and bring Her to peace.
And for America, we pray for Holy Ghost conviction of sin and righteousness and judgment to come; revive us Lord and when You have revived us, send us with Holy Spirit power to evangelize the world and our next door neighbors and Lord, I confess I need You more for this than anyone I know.
And now we call these names to You and we entrust their well being, their needs, their wants, their cries of Why, and everything in between – thank You for hearing us, thank Your for caring, thank You for supplying every need according to You riches in Christ Jesus.

IDOK DEVOTION for Wednesday, September 19, 2007

Pray for the Peace of Israel

I would like to remind you again of the Eastern Shore Women’s Ministry Conference – our 4th Annual – to be held on November 3, 2007. Please pray, ask Father God if He has a message for you to receive at this conference. I would like to see you there. This link will give you all the information: http://www.easternshorewomensministry.com/news.html

Just in case you have been wondering about the $1 coin, I have read the Federal Mint admits that some of the $ coins were released without the words, “In God We Trust”. However, except for the miss-minted coins, we can find “In God We Trust” on the EDGE of the coin! And as my beloved husband says, “with use that will wear off!” We cannot pray too much for this Nation.
The first verse that comes to my mind in this regard is: The fool hath said there is no God. We find that verse in Psalm 14, verse 1: The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.
But that is not where the verse ends. Lets read on. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. 2 The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. 3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
You know for a ‘Being’ that does not exist (as some say), He sure has nailed us, hasn’t He? What an accurate description of fallen mankind! But these are not all the verses.
Psalm 53: 1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good. 2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. 3 Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
Proverbs 10: 8 The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.
Proverbs 11: 29 He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.
I think we can expand this to he who troubles this Nation, shall inherit the wind as it says in Hosea 8: 7 For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk; the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.

Proverbs 12: 22 Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight. 23 A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.
Proverbs 15: 14 The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.
And the way I see it many here have fed on foolishness; many have spewed out (proclaimed) foolishness.
I am saying in advance that I make no apology of this statement: Based on the Word of my Father, it is a fool who says there is no God and it takes a fool to remove from U. S. Coins or Currency or edifices – In God We Trust. But the greatest fool of all says: ‘for me there is no God.’
Romans 1:20
For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

In God We Trust – Lets keep praying that one day This Nation as a whole will cease to proclaim herself a fool. More than ever we need to Pray: God Bless America. And when we ask Him to bless we are asking Him to Intervene, Get all up in the business of America, Put up Roadblocks, Spread out Obstacles, Whatever it takes to bring American to repentance; to again bring Her to a Nation that is Humbly Proud to say IN GOD WE TRUST!

Father, we Your people ask You to forgive and have mercy on America; bless her with conviction, Holy Spirit come in power and convince us of sin and lostness and build a desire to be saved in the people of America; expose the lies of Satan; expose the evil he intends for this people and give us vision and hope. And Father, if IDOK can be a part of this, please make it so.
And we call these people in particular to You this morning for Your Blessing, for every need in each individual life.

HIS MINISTRY TO YOU

Gecky

IDOK DEVOTION for Thursday, September 13, 2007

Pray for the Peace of Israel

I’m not attempting to sell you ‘insurance’; besides I figure that you already have the greatest of all policies – Eternal Life. I’ve been taking pictures again and of a surprising subject. Surprising because it is my custom to squeal, shiver and run when the little green guy comes near me. Yes, I am speaking of a gecko, or commonly referred to as a lizard. But this little guy held me nearly spell-bound today in his ‘tattered white coat’. I learned from Internet sources that his ‘white coat’ is due to the natural process of shedding. I must tell you though, I am SO grateful for a ZOOM lens! And as I have studied the many pictures I took of ‘Gecky’, I have marveled at our God. How could any of us look at any piece of creation, plant or animal, and not know He IS!
Scripture tells us in Psalm 139:14 that we are fearfully and wonderfully made and I am not comparing us to Gecky as ‘man’ according to Psalm 8 is made only a little lower than the angels which means to me that among the creatures of earth, we excel them all.
So I am offering you a ‘safe’ way to study and marvel at the incredible design and creativity of our God, even His sense of humor, if you will. If you were aware of just how squeamish I am about lizards, you would certainly appreciate Father’s sense of humor.
Let me give you a little exercise, every chance you get with your children or your grandchildren study, either up close and personal or in photography, a giraffe, a hippo, a butterfly, ants, frogs, swans, sea gulls, a rose, clouds and on and on. Pray with your little ones (and not so little ones) and ask Father to reveal to you the intricate design He wove into each of His creations. Marvel at Him and applaud Him!! He is AWESOME. Everything He created was for a purpose and one of those purposes was to REVEAL Himself to us. Look for Him in every creature you see and even Gecky won’t look so creepy anymore!!

Psalm 8:
1 O LORD, our Lord,

How excellent is Your name in all the earth,
Who have set Your glory above the heavens!
2 Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants
You have ordained strength,
Because of Your enemies,
That You may silence the enemy and the avenger.
3 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
The moon and the stars, which You have ordained,
4 What is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him?
5 For You have made him a little lower than the angels,
And You have crowned him with glory and honor.
6 You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands;
You have put all things under his feet,
7 All sheep and oxen—
Even the beasts of the field,
8 The birds of the air,
And the fish of the sea
That pass through the paths of the seas.
9 O LORD, our Lord,
How excellent is Your name in all the earth!
Father, You tickle me so. You are AWESOME and certainly not in the least of ways is that You could get ME to see lizards in a new light – I still don’t want them in the house — okay? You are so much fun! Thank You. Thank You for all creatures that You have made, small and great. Thank You for teaching us about You through them. And now I pray for each and every IDOK that we will look for You in everything we behold and will applaud and praise You more and more. And we pray for these that You love and we anticipate Your provisions to them – whatever they need today. And for our IDOK Troops we pray for heart and mind peace and safety of body and we ask You to bring them home to us safe and sound and we pray that daily they will come to love you more and this we ask for Jesus sake. Amen and Amen.

Fairhope-Satsuma Ginger Lilies

IDOK DEVOTION for Wednesday, September 12, 2007

Pray for the Peace of Israel

On a Fairhope balcony in the years 2002 and 2003, a single pot of greenery bloomed, the blossoms were delicate, fragrant and wedding day white. Lack of attention – down right neglect – in 2004 and the little pot gave no blossoms. Yet in 2005, the little pot would not be left behind, she came to Satsuma and there she sat and she sat. But in time the meager stalks, by then reduced to bulbs, found a permanent home and her greenery flourished and flourished, but only the greenery – no blossoms, no fragrance, no wedding day white.
And this year, 2007, again the greenery flourished and even though the bed of ginger lilies had more than tripled in size and number, we wondered will the blossoms ever return.

Galatians 6: 9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Yesterday I digitally captured My First Satsuma Ginger Lily. I hope you can open and enjoy the picture. The Fragrance is back!!

Is there something in your life that you have been laboring over, praying over, hoping it would yield? Keep on tiling, keep on praying, keep on giving God time. Galatians 6: 9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

And if you have been transplanted from a place, a situation and you seem to be doing okay, the greenery is there, but the ‘fragrance’ is missing – give God time. You can bloom anywhere He has you – in His Time.
Galatians 6: 9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Father, thank You. Thank You for Ginger Lilies that bloom and thank You for Your Divine Lessons in the lilies. And I pray for any soul who reads today that feels out of place, transplanted from one place to another and who is still waiting to feel at home, give that one courage and hope today. I ask You to give Your People the will to be encouraged today, the will to trust You, the will to believe You, the will to wait upon You. And for these Zela. Janie B. W.C. The Ellis Family. Bev. HIS MINISTRY TO YOU

We are glad you are here; stay a while, look around, and be encouraged. We estimate there to be over 3,000 posts here at The White Stone Blog. Please know my hope is ALWAYS to help and NEVER harm. I have voiced many opinions and thoughts here since 2007 and by now I MAY NOT EVEN AGREE with all of them and some of my grammar and punctuation likely needs editing. But this is changeless: JESUS is our ONLY Savior and Hope. Do you KNOW Him?
