Weakness

IDOK DEVOITON FOR TUESDAY, JULY 15, 2008

He’s BETTER! Too weak for the office but as he phrased it: much improved over yesterday. Thank you for your prayers. We appreciate you all.
2 Corinthians 12: 8 Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me.
9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

For Christ’s Sake we take pleasure in … . Not for the sake of the infirmity or the reproach or the need or the persecution or the distress – all these things in the mind of the sane are not pleasurable BUT when we have sweet communion and fellowship with our LORD JESUS; when we hear His Sweet Voice, when we know the Beauty of His Presence and sense His Hand of Comfort — just the pleasure of closeness to Him – then we have pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses. It is then we KNOW our flesh is WEAK and cannot perfect this pleasure but JESUS in us is MIGHTY and STRONG enough to do it; whatever the distress! HE is AWESOME!! And we are blessed beyond measure to have been invited to come and abide in HIM!
Father God, thank You for this Word from You. Thank You that You in us is strong and not weak. Thank You. Thank You for the marked improvement in Jerry’s health today. Thank You for Your Plan in this. And thank You for Your Plan in the health of others listed here. We do not know what it is and we do not understand why it is as it is but we do know You LOVE and You are Strong and Mighty and worthy of our trust and our love and as best we know how we give You both today on behalf of these listed here and ourselves and our IDOK Troops and Israel and America. Thank You for this IDOK Ministry – only You, Lord, could do this and I am grateful for the part You have given me. Thank You. Thank You for each IDOK and each reader. I know You are blessing them today and You are taking care of each need. I know You in us are STRONG. Amen and amen. Tye B. Joann. Sheri, Tyler, Hannah. Edie. Ann J. Bernie. Malpas Family. Darlene. An Unusual Morning in the Thompson House

IDOK DEVOTION FOR MONDAY, JULY 14, 2008

It’s an unusual morning in the Thompson House for a Monday morning; we still have a house-guest and my beloved who is rarely, rarely, sick is home this morning with a very upset stomach, so I have been hanging out with him rather than coming to the computer. But I am here for a few minutes. We know we will have your prayers today and we thank you in advance. We think it’s a stomach virus and should run its course in a few more hours.
Romans 8: 37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
In all these things we are more than conquerors – This is Father’s Word to us today. In ALL things, situations, circumstances, sickness and disease we are MORE than conquerors through JESUS who loves us. The key to life is remembering JESUS LOVES ME THIS I KNOW FOR THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO; this makes us MORE THAN CONQUERORS.
Abba, thank You that in ALL we are more than conquerors in You Lord Jesus. We live and abide in that today for this household and the households of each and every IDOK. We commend these to You today for all they need and more in Your Supreme Abundance. Thank You for taking care of our IDOK Troops today and these. Amen and amen. Tye B. Joann. Sheri, Tyler, Hannah. IDOK DEVOTION FOR FRIDAY, JULY 11, 2008

Good Morning! Have you read the Word lately just for the sheer joy of reading it? Have you allowed the Word to pour over you and comfort you; to just love on you today? Please do. I ask you to make a decision to give the Scriptures a place of priority, a place of honor, make them a royal treasure in your heart and allow them to govern your thoughts and deeds. I am poignantly aware these days how blessed I am to have and hold and read and BELIEVE the Bible. I am so grateful that it is not a dead book to me but a living one; so grateful that when I read it, I do believe it, and when I read it and heed it, God actually lives in and works His Life through me to others. What a gift! And yes, I do mean gift! It is a wondrous Gift from God that we BELIEVE the Scripture; a gift that I had taken for granted. I am grateful for His reminder that BELIEVING and HEEDING the Word is a priceless treasure!
So let me tell you what I read this morning in Luke 18. You may recall that beginning in verse 1 of 18, Jesus is telling a parable; He is giving a earthly example with a spiritual message. It’s the one about the woman who had a need and she pestered the Judge to defend and protect her from the one who was opposing her. But the Judge paid her no mind at first BUT she kept on and on until he determined he would do as she asked just so she would leave him alone. No doubt you have heard it preached that we are to be just so when praying, to be just so persistent and that is so. But be very careful here, be very careful that we do not get the wrong impression of Our Father …. Some have you know! Our God is not one that we have to “pester” to get Him to do what we want Him to do. The parable is to encourage us by CONTRAST; if a man who has no regard, no respect for God or man, will be swayed to do what is asked of him simply by persistence, CAN YOU IMAGINE WHAT OUR LOVING FATHER WILL DO WHEN WE, HIS CHILDREN, CONSISTENLY COME TO HIM WITH OUR DESIRES AND CRIES OF OUR HEART?
And will not [Our Just] God defend and protect and avenge His elect (His Chosen Ones), who cry to Him day and night? Will He defer them and delay help on their behalf? I tell you, He will defend and protect and avenge them speedily. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find [persistence in] faith on the earth? Verses 8 and 9. Do you see that promise from Jesus Himself? Father is attentive to your every word and you can be assured that He will defend you, protect you and He will deal with all your adverse situations; He will not put your needs on the back burner and say I will get to it, when I get around to it. No! Even before you pray, even before you travail with that burden, He has the answer already in the works BUT if you want the FULL EFFECT, the full joy of the answer when it comes, KEEP ON PRAYING, not because He forgets or does not care BUT BECAUSE WE FORGET AND BECOME CARE-LESS unless we continue to pray. Is that good or what?!
Father, thank you that you hear every word of our hearts and minds; thank you that you know us perfectly and that you not only know us but that you care for us like a Good Shepherd cares for His Sheep. Thank you that we are Sheep of Your Pasture and we are well cared for; that there is food and water and shelter and protection in abundance in Your Pasture, My Lord. And I ask you to keep me praying; to keep me persistent, not because You need it BUT because I do. And Father, you know what is on my heart, you know exactly what is there and you know exactly what I desire, please keep me faithful in it until you have removed all the obstacles to faith and you give birth here on earth to what I know is Your desire as well because Your Word says so. And Father, no doubt in this circle of my email family there are sisters (and brothers) who have such prayers as well; keep us faithful so we will appreciate in fullness your answers when we receive them for Jesus sake. Amen and amen.

To Buy or Not To Buy

IDOK DEVOTION FOR THURSDAY, JULY 10, 2008

Sweet Memories in the making: early morning non-regulation tennis, PlayStation 2, Internet Coloring Pages, Computer Baseball, French fries and trampoline jumping contests! It’s been fun all day and now I am hoping for a new IDOK rather than a re-run.

I opened my copy of the New King James and began to read. I came to this verse and stopped: Proverbs 23: 23 Buy the truth, and do not sell it, Also wisdom and instruction and understanding.
Buy the truth. What does that say? What is it that Abba is saying to you and to me in those three words? To buy is an exchange, is it not? Exchanging one thing of value for another of value. And hopefully the latter is of equal or greater value than the former, right? When we take hard earned cash (or debit card) to Belks or Ann Taylor’s we want the most we can get for our $$, right? We want to exchange our $50 bill for a $150 ensemble, don’t we? And if we have done our homework – been patient and have watched carefully for just the right ‘sale’ – that just right outfit might make it to our closet. So we can safely say we KNOW how to BUY. Abba, knew just what word to use here, didn’t He? So we got the Buy part, lets look at the other word: Truth. The original Hebrew word here is tma. Transliterated: ’emeth. And pronounced: ‘eh-meth. Meaning: truth (of course) and firmness, faithfulness, sureness, reliability, stability, and continuance; just to name a few. Obviously, Father wants us to BUY – TRUTH. He was us to acquire truth and all that goes with it. Remember we said to buy we must make an exchange? So when we go to Belks, Ann Taylor’s or Wal-Mart we look at the item, we look at the price tag and we determine if the item is worth to us the asking price. If we determine yes, we pay the $$ and the item goes home with us. If we determine no, the item stays on the rack.
You see the principle clearly, don’t you? Let me give you my interpretation of Proverbs 23:23. In this Father is telling us to pay the price; to determine TRUTH is of such great value that we are willing to pay the full price tag to acquire it. And after acquiring it to place such a great value upon it that it would be unthinkable to us to sell this Truth (now OUR Truth) to the highest bidder. In other words, once we have acquired Truth, we will not compromise it for any shiny bobble that the flesh, the world or the devil can dangle in front of us. The question is are we willing to pay the price to obtain TRUTH? And not just truth but wisdom, instruction and understanding? Only I can answer for me and only you can answer for you. To buy or not to buy – good question. And another one might be – whatcha been buying lately? And a final one: Has Truth found a home in us or is it still on the rack?
Edie’s home and she sends this message, in part: Dear Kathie: Thank you and IDOKs very much for prayer for me during surgery. It went well. I am home and doing really well. Thank you again. …Love, Edie
Abba, thank You. Thank You for this word. I want to ponder it more. And I pray all our IDOKs will ponder and meditate upon it until we have gleaned every golden nugget in it that You have for each of us individually.
Thank You for this beautiful day You have given. Thank You for the laughter, the memories, the miracles we have seen today. Thank You for the report from Edie. We are grateful Lord and we pray for more reports of increased strength and health and peace from and for Edie. And we pray for Bernie. Thank You for the miracles You are doing; thank You for the glorious testimonies You are crafting here. Thank You for glorifying Yourself. You are AWESOME. Thank You for loving on Bernie and Linda. Thank You for loving on each of us. Thank You for taking care of our IDOK Troops, for keeping them safe and for drawing them to love You more and more. Protect Israel; give wisdom, discernment, courage, equipment and every resource needed to maintain and acquire all You have given Her. Move and encourage American Leaders to Bless Israel that we be not cursed. Forgive and have mercy; grant grace and space for America’s people to repent. Raise up Leaders in Your Church – men and women to lead, teach and preach Your Gospel for Jesus Name sake. And Abba, love on J.Lloyd, give him restful sleep and make him well, please. Amen and amen.

We are glad you are here; stay a while, look around, and be encouraged. We estimate there to be over 3,000 posts here at The White Stone Blog. Please know my hope is ALWAYS to help and NEVER harm. I have voiced many opinions and thoughts here since 2007 and by now I MAY NOT EVEN AGREE with all of them and some of my grammar and punctuation likely needs editing. But this is changeless: JESUS is our ONLY Savior and Hope. Do you KNOW Him?
