A Grand Start

I am returning to a verse of Scripture I read yesterday to share with you this morning.

7 For God gave us a Spirit who produces not timidity, but power, love and self-discipline.

via 2 Timothy 1 KJV;CJB – Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the – Bible Gateway.

He, the Holy Spirit, produces not timidity but power. Power to do what? To love and to discipline myself.  Discipline myself in what way? Every way that does not line up with Love; His love.  What am I doing that does not demonstrate God’s love? Love for JESUS, love for others, even love for myself? Then that is what I have the power from the Holy Spirit to stop doing. That’s what it says. And that’s my mission today. Perhaps you will consider taking on this mission as well. Disciplining myself to cease even just ONE of those things would be a grand start. I like that! A grand start this Monday morning.

I’m Smiling ~ ~ ~   :)

Thank You, ABBA. Thank You for a Grand Start to this day and thank You, HOLY SPIRIT, for the power to continue to love and disciple today in JESUS name.  We remember now to You Jamie and I ask You to heal her, to restore her to health and give her the privilege of serving You more. Collectively as Your people we bring ourselves and those we love for You to regenerate and revive.  Amen and amen.

Cease Entertaining

May I quickly share a few verses of Scripture? I picked up my Bible and it fell to Romans 12 and my eyes met with verse 20 and I backed up to 19 for context. Please read with me.

19 Never seek revenge, my friends; instead, leave that to God’s anger; for in the Tanakh it is written,

Adonai says, ‘Vengeance is my responsibility; I will repay.’”

20 On the contrary,

“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
For by doing this, you will heap
fiery coals [of shame] on his head.”

21 Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.  [source]

Vengeance is my responsibility; I will repay, He said. And we know our GOD cannot lie; not will not but CANNOT. He would cease to be GOD if He ever lied and, Friends, that ain’t :) gonna happen. Aren’t you glad? So let us leave vengeance and pay back to Him; but as we leave it to Him let us NOT sit and wait for pay back to come so we can rejoice.  No. No. No. That is not His command to us.  Rather, let us move forward as He has commanded and do good to those who do evil to us. And if today all the good you can do is pray for them and not do the evil to them that you would like, by all means do that. Pray for them and cease entertaining that payback.

This is not an easy passage, ABBA, but I am grateful to read it; grateful for Your promise and grateful for Your instructions as to what You expect my conduct to be. Thank You. And thank You for the grace and strength to obey, all that is left to add is my willingness and I pray even for help to be willing. Thank You, ADONAI.  And, ABBA, it is rare that JT would be sick but he is today and I am asking You to heal him today.  And there are others that are always on my mind; Jamie for one. Thank You that You are fully worthy of our trust and You are able and You do all things well; so we trust You. And thank You for reminders. So I pray for Israel. Thank You for that blessed Nation and I ask for their protection and the subduing of all their enemies; all praise and petitions here offered in the Name of YESHUA, JESUS the CHRIST.

Remembering

We are remembering Veterans today; as well we should.
Many lives have been given; much blood has been spilled and, we are deeply saddened.

And while we look to mortal men and women who have given blood for temporary freedom, let us look to the ONE who gave His Blood that we may have Eternal Freedom.

And YESHUA said:

11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

14 I am the good shepherd; I know my own, and my own know me — 15 just as the Father knows me, and I know the Father — and I lay down my life on behalf of the sheep.

17 “This is why the Father loves me: because I lay down my life — in order to take it up again! 18 No one takes it away from me; on the contrary, I lay it down of my own free will. I have the power to lay it down, and I have the power to take it up again. This is what my Father commanded me to do.”  John 10 [source]

Luke 4:17-19

17 And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. And He opened the book and found the place where it was written,

18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor.
He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives,
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set free those who are oppressed,
19To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord.”

Thank You, ADONAI YESHUA, for eternal freedom, for eternal liberty; ONLY You could set us the captives eternally free and You did. Just words are not enough to say thank You. And thank You for men and women who loved freedom so much that they would lay aside their own lives. Help us celebrate today with gratitude, peace, praise, honor, and dignity for them and most highly for You, LORD JESUS.
