Pray for the Peace of Israel

As I begin this I am uncertain of where I am going with it and certainly I am clueless as to where we will close today.
Earlier, I was talking to my friend and our sister Bev. Who by the way she is home from the hospital (with a Central Line for Antibiotics) and doing so much better. On Sunday the doctors were not even talking about even speculating when she would be released and Wednesday she is home! Is our God AWESOME or what? And thank you for your work in this as you prayed for her.
So, she and I were talking about procedures and timing and a host of things related to this illness and about Father and His Hand in it all. As we talked, this thought came to mind: Healing(s) are for Father’s Glory.
I know, I know – Duh! That is not a novel thought. Hang with me here. Father is able to speak a word and if He does that disease, infection, whatever is GONE! And Scripture records for us some of the times that Jesus did exactly that. Here is just one example:
Luke 4: 38 Now He arose from the synagogue and entered Simon’s house. But Simon’s wife’s mother was sick with a high fever, and they made request of Him concerning her. 39 So He stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. And immediately she arose and served them.
And now, even as then, for some illnesses and diseases we seek natural medical attention and that is good, very good. And so I continued to think about Bev and all the tests and IVs and pumps and cultures and doctors and staff, etc. Etc. That has gone on to bring Bev to this stage of recovery. And I thought of others in my circle of friends who have survived cancer and are now doing well and I thought of others who are still enduring treatments and we are not seeing what we want to see. And on the heels of all these thoughts came a sense of knowing; a sense of God’s Sovereignty; a peace relating to His Glory and people and reaching them and touching them with Himself.
That’s what I believe sickness and disease and healing is all about. We live on a sin cursed planet and we get sick. That is a fact of life! Sometimes we get sick because we make poor choices.
Sometimes we get sick because other folks make poor choices and we get caught in their fall -out.
And sometimes we get sick just because of where we live — sin-cursed planet earth!
But, by whatever means, we as Father’s People fall ill, His Purpose in allowing the sickness, the length of the sickness, the natural medical recovery efforts taken, and the eventual healing by either medical means or by His Word, the purpose for it all is to manifest His Glory in order to demonstrate His Love for PEOPLE. Not just we, His sons and daughters; but all people, including those who have not yet come to know Him.
He uses our illnesses and diseases and the natural medical recovery avenues that we take for the purpose of getting His Message to the world that Jesus Saves! It’s all about His Glory and People coming to know that Jesus is the Savior.
Father, would not allow His sons and daughters to suffer the effects of this earth without an Eternal Heavenly Purpose.
And when the time is just right with events and people coinciding in just the right way, HIS GLORY PLATFORM is then fully ready with just the right amount of SPEAKERS for proclaiming what He wants to proclaim; it is then He gives recovery of the infection, illness or disease OR He takes His beloved child HOME!
So while we are here, we say this:
2 Corinthians 12:8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
And in time, we will say this:
2 Timothy 4:6 For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.
And through it all – TO HIM BE THE GLORY!!
Thank You Father, just keep WOW-ing us. To You be all the Glory. ONLY You are worthy of Glory!! Thank You. Thank You. Let me NEVER forget that ONLY You are worthy of GLORY. Bless this message, give it the Platform You desire and speak it as You desire it to be spoken. And Lord, we confess we are not You and we confess we do not know what You know and therefore, we cannot know what is best for these and so it is for YOUR BEST that we pray for these:

Pray for the Peace of Israel

I read something I want to share with you. I have been reading about Passover. A family begins to prepare for Passover by thoroughly cleansing the house of ‘leaven’; the whole family gets in on the cleansing but it is the Man (Father/husband) who makes the final inspection. He is responsible; he must ensure that all the house is cleansed (keep that in mind). After the cleansing of the home, the candles are lit and it reads this way: Lighting the candles
Once the house and the participants are ceremonially clean, the Passover seder can begin. The woman of the house says a blessing and lights the Passover candles. It is appropriate that the woman brings light into the home, because it was through the woman that the light of the world, Messiah Jesus, came into the world (Gen. 3:15)
I hope that strikes you as beautifully as it did me. I have such a sense of warmth, and love, and blessedness – a knowing that I am cared for as I type these words. How precious Father’s Daughters are to Him! Is it any wonder that Satan hates ‘woman’ so much? Is it any wonder that there is such a push, an all out war to pollute and destroy ‘woman’ and the mission she has been given by God? Look again – she brings light into the home. What does candle-light (lamp-stands – oil and wick) do for the home? Dispels darkness; lends an ability to see, to search and find (remember the woman searching for the lost coin? She lit a lamp to search. See Text below); gives a warm glow to the walls of the home; gives a sense of peace, even romance. And Satan, using the world, is out to do anything and everything imaginable to distort, destroy and kill each of these blessings.
What is the first thing you sense when you step across the threshold of a Godly Home? Notice I did not say CHRISTIAN Home, I said GODLY HOME. There are many Christian Homes – I was raised it one! But God intends more for us than just a Christian Home. A Christian Home can be a CARNAL home (see Text below) but a GODLY HOME is filled with the HOLY SPIRIT and Jesus is KING in such a home. And how did Jesus come to be in this world? You got it! Born of a WOMAN. Now do not run too far with this. I believe in the ORDER of the FAMILY. Look back at the order of preparing for Passover. Everybody gets in on the cleansing but the MAN (Daddy/husband) makes the final inspection. The Man is RESPONSIBLE before God for the condition of his home. But the Woman (Momma/wife) – oh she can do SO MUCH to bring the LIGHT of CHRIST into the home!! She needs to incorporate all the benefits of the lamp-stand into her home in order to bless the occupants who live there and guests who come to visit there.
I hope you love this as much as I do!! I hope you feel as blessed and honored and privileged and loved as Father has and is doing when He made you His Daughter. And you, Sons? Don’t you feel the same? Did He not honor you, privilege you and love you, when He gave you the ‘White Gloves’? Oh how AWESOME He is!!!
Luke 15: 8 Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it? (NKJV)
1 Corinthians 3:2 I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; 3 for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men? (NKJV)
There is so much more I see here, so much more to say. Pray that I will be faithful to develop it and put it on paper; but, I got to give you one more this morning. Remember above the mention of romance? Father made us sexual beings. He designed us that way for many reasons; one of those reasons for the majority is to birth children. But He also had other things in mind when He made us WOMEN. I confess it angers me at Satan when I see what he has done and continues to do to distort and destroy the beauty of Woman. For one, the exploitation of the female anatomy to sell cars, hamburgers and everything in between to be sure was hatched in the pits of hell to mar and degrade and eventually destroy the vessel God chose to bring Light to the World. And you know what – any male who would be pleased and/or entertained by this exploitation of woman is NO MAN! Sisters, I am asking you to pray and stand – hold your head up, square your shoulders and live your lives in modest holiness and godly pride. Don’t allow yourself to get caught up in the trash of this world that wants to reduce you to anything less that a vessel bearing the Light of the World! And Brothers, I am asking you to help us – put on those White Gloves!!

Father, You are WOW-ing me! MORE! MORE! I love You. Thank You.
Hear the names of these, your Sons and Daughters with illness and disease and grief and wayward children and grandchildren, and abused souls, fears and doubts, material needs, need of wisdom and direction, all this and more. We proclaim that You are our Provider and You are the God who heals us. You are our Savior, our Companion, our Friend. You are our Everything, help us live this way. Thank You Father for these and what You will do on their behalf:

And Father, revive America, compel us to repentance and use IDOK if You will. Thank You for this ministry and this privilege in Jesus name. Amen and Amen.

Just in case some of you are unfamiliar with the meaning I am intending with ‘White Gloves’, I retrieved this from an Internet Site:
: : : : As I understand this phrase, it refers to an inspection of a room for cleanliness. The idea is that, if the room is sufficiently clean, The inspector would be unable to find a speck of dust, even if he/she were to don white cotton gloves and run a gloved finger along every surface. I seem to remember this phrase from the late 50s/early 60s. I wonder if it’s got a military origin or if it’s just a Relic from a TV commercial.

: : : It’s military. For many years, vicious NCO’s have used a white glove to test to see if the squaddies have got their barracks to Ridiculously clean standards. They would claim that it’s character-forming, I suppose.

Rest assured my IDOKS in Father’s Army the Standard of Cleanliness is not ridiculous and that Standard builds Everlasting Character that will one day walk the Street of Gold! Hallelujah!

IDOK DEVOTION for Monday, August 20, 2007

This Monday morning came much too early but I am sure it is right on time; it is I who is running behind.
I hope you have had a restful weekend.

One thing in particular my Pastor said this weekend is with me this morning. He said we have lost something and I think he is correct. He talked about Jesus walking on the water. He talked about Jesus saying to the storm, “Peace, be still.” He talked about us reading those accounts in Scripture and we don’t say WOW any more. Where has our AWE gone?! I don’t like it when we read the Scripture and it is just words on a page. I like it when the words leap off the page and become alive on the screen of my mind and I like it even more when that “Scripture Movie” plays again and again at just the right moment.

So yesterday in Sunday morning worship, I said, “Lord forgive me and WOW me again.” I prayed that and I am still praying it because I know that my flesh has no ability and no desire to be WOW-ed by Him. I need His help. I know that my natural mind does not have what it takes to be AWED by Him. I also know that I must not approach Him seeking to be WOW-ed by Him for Wow-ing’s sake. I must seek to be WOW-ed by Him in order to KNOW Him more, in order to LOVE Him more, in order to OBEY Him more, in order to fulfill my mission here.
We are well familiar with these verses. They tell us that without Him we can do nothing and I believe that includes being WOW-ed and AWED by Him.
John 6:4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
There is a key in these verses too – ABIDE. For me to be WOW-ed by Him, I must consistently ABIDE in Him and I cannot even do that without His help to. Do you get the idea that I can do NOTHING without Him? Me too. WOW!
Father, I appreciate the WOW this morning and I am asking You for more WOWs, not only for me but for any IDOK willing. And I am asking WOWs for these in all the areas they need You.

Lord, WOW us with You, not for WOW-ing’s sake but because You deserve it, You are Worthy of our AWE and Lord, we NEED to be WOW-ed by You. We NEED to Worship You, we NEED to stay in constant AWE of You; that is the only way to keep us SAFE, the only way to keep us living holy lives; the only way we will ABIDE in You. WOW us Lord. WOW everyone of us. Thank You Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
