Written in Red

IDOK DEVOTION FOR WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 16, 2008

My desk calendar’s quote for today:
We must know that we have been created for greater things, not just to be a number in the world, not just to go for diplomas and degrees, this work and that work. We have been created in order to love and to be loved. Mother Teresa.

And I John 4 reads:
15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.

And the Lyrics to one of my favorite songs says it well:
In letters of crimson God wrote His love
On a hillside so long long ago.
For you and for me Jesus died.
Love’s greatest story was told.
I love you.
I love you.
That’s what Calvary said.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you written in red.

Down through the ages God wrote His love
With the same hands that suffered and bled.
Giving all that He had to give
The message so easily read:
I love you.
I love you.
That’s what Calvary said.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
Oh precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow.
No other fount I know.
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
I love you.
I love you.
That’s what Calvary said.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you written in red.

AMEN!

Lord Jesus, thank You. Thank You for writing in Red how much You love me, all of us. Thank You. And that is enough for Eternity but You have told us in Your Word to come and ask so we are asking for these, for all they need today to love You and praise You. Thank You Lord.
