IDOK DEVOTION FOR WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9, 2008
Once upon a time, prayer was needed, so she prayed. As minutes and hours ticked by more prayer was needed but the cause was so close it could not be spoken to the ears of others. So she enlisted others the only way she knew she could and she prayed: ‘Holy Spirit even though I cannot enlist others You can. Please get others to pray’. And she was specific in her request. She said: ‘Enlist sisters and brothers with power, those who can pray and Father will hear and respond’. And she prayed more, she prayed all the words she knew to pray and still more prayers were needed. Then her own words came to her again ‘enlist those who have power to pray’ and in that moment peace came as her own request gave the answer: She could ask the ONE with ALL POWER to pray and He would know just what to say. She could voice again those words she had voiced years before: ‘Jesus, pray for me’. And He did. And somehow in that moment she knew He would do it again. Once upon a time could be any time. And anyone of us could be the Princess calling upon the King – He will always know the words to pray. Ask in faith: Jesus, pray for ________. (you fill in the blank)
Romans 8: 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Lord Father, thank You for what You are doing in the lives of these listed here and the lives of each and every IDOK and their families. You know the unspoken cries in the hearts of Your sons and Your daughters and we trust You. We proclaim Your Word is true and You will never leave us or forsake us and nothing will ever separate us from Your Love and if not from Your Love then not from Your Provisions of all that we need. Thank You. We ask You to comfort broken hearts, mend broken hearts; chasten the wayward and uphold the weary; encourage those whose hope is waning; protect and preserve our IDOK Troops, thank You for each one and again we pray for a successful conclusion to this war. Have mercy on America in this Presidential election, give us not what we deserve but be merciful to us. Please continue to expose unrepentant sins and open the eyes of people everywhere. Exalt Jesus as Lord and Messiah; bless and bring Israel to the Peace You so desire Her to have. We pray for honest seekers, protect them from deception for Jesus sake. Amen and amen. Oprah. Chris B.
