IDOK DEVOTION FOR THURSDAY, JULY 31, 2008
A quote to ponder: It is how we rise from a fall that determines our character.
Today the 31st of July lets read a portion of Psalm 31 in the New Living Translation
19 How great is the goodness
You have stored up for those who fear you.
You lavish it on those who come to you for protection,
Blessing them before the watching world.
20 You hide them in the shelter of Your presence,
Safe from those who conspire against them.
You shelter them in Your presence,
Far from accusing tongues.
21 Praise the Lord,
For He has shown me the wonders of His unfailing love.
He kept me safe when my city was under attack.
22 In panic I cried out,
“I am cut off from the Lord!”
But You heard my cry for mercy
And answered my call for help.
23 Love the Lord, all you godly ones!
For the Lord protects those who are loyal to Him,
But He harshly punishes the arrogant.
24 So be strong and courageous,
All you who put your hope in the Lord!
His unfailing love kept me safe when my city was under attack. These words we believe to be penned by David coming from the Mouth of God giving us insight into who David is and giving us hope in the promises of God our Father. Is your ‘city under attack’ today? Have you in panic cried out with similar words: ‘I am cut off from the Lord’? Take heart. He in mercy has heard your cry and He has answered your call for help. Even when our own city is besieged, even when the assault is bloody and long, He hides us in the SHELTER OF HIS PRESENCE.
Romans 8: 31 What then shall we say to [all] this? If God is for us, who [can be] against us? [Who can be our foe, if God is on our side?]
Father God, thank You for this Word today. And I pray Holy Spirit You will apply Your Word to the heart of each IDOK and each reader. I pray every soul reading this portion of Your Word today will hear Your Voice and will draw strength and peace and assurance of Your Love and Mercy for him or her. Thank You for another morning, another day to breath in and exhale out Your Love and Mercy in this world. Thank You for the protection, grace and mercy You have lavished upon our IDOK Troops and we pray for Your Gifts of Love to each of them again today.
