IDOK DEVOTION FOR THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 2008
Today I am particularly humbly proud to be a daughter of the THE GREAT KING. Today, I am keenly aware that He is AWESOME and I cannot fathom that He is allowing me to minister in His Name. Blessed be the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ!!
Soon into my day I read this:
You are from God, little children, and you have conquered them, because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. I John 4:4
I never want to go back to my life of defeat. I live in alertness daily. However, God used my defeat to bring me to a place of ministry and authenticity I would never have known. It was not until I was broken that God was released to create in me a healthy heart and teach me the humility and compassion of a true servant.
I have a long way to go, but I have put the devil on notice: he may make my life very difficult, but he cannot make me quit. For, I like you, am one of God’s dear children, and I have overcome the spirits of darkness because of the One who is in me is greater than the one who is in the world. Written by Beth Moore. And the day has only gotten better from there. Blessed be the Name of the Lord!
Ephesians 1:
2 May grace (God’s unmerited favor) and spiritual peace [which means peace with God and harmony, unity, and undisturbedness] be yours from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 May blessing (praise, laudation, and eulogy) be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) Who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual (given by the Holy Spirit) blessing in the heavenly realm!
4 Even as [in His love] He chose us [actually picked us out for Himself as His own] in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy (consecrated and set apart for Him) and blameless in His sight, even above reproach, before Him in love.
5 For He foreordained us (destined us, planned in love for us) to be adopted (revealed) as His own children through Jesus Christ, in accordance with the purpose of His will [because it pleased Him and was His kind intent]–
6 [So that we might be] to the praise and the commendation of His glorious grace (favor and mercy), which He so freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.
Ah! So that’s why!! Again I say Blessed be the Name of The Lord Jesus Christ.
Update on Janie and Patti:
Janie was able to make the trip to New York for the US OPEN TENNIS with me. We
Had a great trip in between scheduling places for Janie’s mother to go to avoid
The hurricane. Our daughter Brittany did a great job of transporting her, the
Grandkids and four dogs all over the state to be in a safe place. Now we await
The next hurricane. Pray that hurricane ILKE will miss us. Janie is getting
Stronger but the stress of dealing with the hurricanes keeps her stomach
Churning. We head back to Little Rock on the 22nd of Sept. For her last chemo
Treatment.
Patti S has hospice helping Tony and her deal with her last days. She has
Been with her grandkids and kids as much as possible these past couple of weeks.
She continues to take daily trips to the hospital for blood and platelets to
Help her cope with the cancer. They give her medication daily to ease the pain.
We pray that the Lord will have mercy on her and let her go peacefully. They
Send you all much love for all the prayers and financial support you have given
Them. They said they don’t know what they would have done without all the help
From our friends. You guys are the best.
ABBA, You chose us because of who YOU ARE. Thank You. Thank You that in Christ Jesus we are pleasing to You. Thank You that You allow us the blessed privilege of ministering in Your Name. Blessed be Your Name. And Lord for Your own name sake we bring these listed here to You for You to pour out Your Peace and mercy and healing and grace upon each of them, particularly Janie, Patti, Joshua, Davis and his family, Brooklyn and her family, Kim and her Fiancee, the Family from Olive Baptist, Bernie, Steve, Heather and Brandon – all of them, Lord. We bring our IDOK Troops and we praise You for the protection already given to each of them and for the protection that You continue to graciously give to them. We pray for each of them a safe return home to family and friends and we pray for a successful conclusion to the war in Iraq and we pray for wisdom in other pending arenas of conflict and danger. Help us know what it right to do and how to do it. Again we pray for Israel and their safety and Peace, for America to have the wisdom and backbone to stand with Israel. We pray for revival in America and we pray for the presidential candidates, for truth to be valued and spoken. We pray for lies to be exposed and forsaken by the candidates and the voters. ABBA, I am asking You to manifest Your Glory upon the Ones You have chosen to lead this Country. And I pray for mercy upon the ones You have not chosen and I pray it become increasingly evident whom You have chosen. Thank You for Your mercy. Thank You for hearing our prayers. And Father, I am personally asking You for confirmation within my own spirit and in the spirit of any IDOK who desires such confirmation that You have raised up a Standard to stand against the flood of corruption and evil that has been spewing for a long time now.
