IDOK DEVOTION FOR TUESDAY, JUNE 30, 2009

We know when Luke penned the words of the Gospel, he wrote as he was directed by the Holy Spirit. (2 Timothy 3:16) recording for us what he had seen and heard; and he often found confirmation in what had already been written by the Prophets (also moved upon by the Holy Spirit) of the Old Testament. Take a look with me. Luke 18:27 But He said, What is impossible with men is possible with God. Luke heard Jesus say these words but Luke had read them too. In the Script of the Old Scrolls, Jesus by faith found Himself and so did His Disciples – so can we!

Genesis 18:14 Is anything too hard or too wonderful for the Lord? At the appointed time, when the season [for her delivery] comes around, I will return to you and Sarah shall have borne a son.

Do you have something that difficult and that wonderful for which you are praying? HE is able! You will recall that Sarah was well passed child bearing years, beyond menopause; who knows she may even have been beyond night sweats; and Our God delivered on His promise!

Now move with me to Jeremiah 32:17 Alas, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! There is nothing too hard or too wonderful for You –

Did you see it? Jeremiah is NOT asking a question. He is not saying Is there anything to difficult for God. He is proclaiming there is nothing too hard for the Lord God! We can proclaim that too.

One more; same chapter, verse 27; here God is asking the question of the Nation of Old and, yes, He is asking us too! Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is there anything too hard for Me? And how shall we answer Him today? Alas, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! There is nothing too hard or too wonderful for You –

Praise Reports and Prayer Requests

Dear Friends, Please pray for my precious brother, Donald, who is having a Melanoma Cancer removed from his back Thursday, July 2nd. Please pray that the cancer can be completely removed by surgery and that he will not need any further treatments. This is the same brother who went into cardiac arrest 18 months ago and was resuscitated. Thank you so much, La Juanna

Doug is not doing well. Please pray.

ABBA, we have just read and we here proclaim that all things are possible with You. By Your great power and outstretched arm You made the heavens and the earth and by Your power and outstretched arm, we ask You to attend Donald and Doug and Katie and Brian and Loyce and Marzelle and KC and Neolle and Mary and everyone of these precious people listed here. I am comforted that You know every face represented by the name; You know and You care. Thank You Lord for what You have done and will yet do for each one. Thank You for the protection You have given our IDOK Troops; thank You for the protection You will yet give. And I pray for them particularly anyone that is not walking as closely with You as You have called him too, I pray he will allow You to correct that. And as our IDOKs and readers begin their days, I pray for Your favor and blessing to rest upon them and to go before them and follow after them. ABBA, I am posting this here in prayer as a daily prayer and I am praying as pure in motive as I know how today, asking that You by whatever ways and means You choose, see to the removal from office of every elected Official in Washington and all 50 States that is not sensitive to and is not inclined to work to preserve Judaeo-Christian values and the Constitution of this Nation in its Original Intent. Lord, I am so sorry that many (and thank You not all) offices of this Nation are filled with corrupt, reprobate-minded people who have no regard for You or Your Word and if I have done anything that has contributed to the election of these people, please forgive me and stop me from any further actions that will damage and bring this Nation to complete ruin. I pray Holy Spirit that You will stir the hearts and prayers of enough people to bring this Nation to repentance and will clean and cleanse the offices and the Officials of this Nation. Father God, please have mercy on us. Lord Jesus, clean Washington even as You did the Temple if need be. And Lord some weeks later since this prayer began we have word from one of those Alabama officials that he wants our prayers, that he is mindful of You, that he does love You and obviously he is well acquainted with Your Word. And ABBA I am so delighted and grateful for this man and for others like him, so for each of them (and You know who they are, Lord) we pray that You will anoint and empower them to stand firm and holy in these places of service You have given them and Lord please bring others alongside to stand with them and help them. And as he suggested move us to be involved in the political process with more than just our prayers according to the individual will You have for each of us. IDOK DEVOTION FOR MONDAY, JUNE 29, 2009

We have enjoyed our weekend and although it is Monday, our weekend is not quite finished so I will be brief this morning. From my reading this morning I offer you one verse. Isaiah 2:5 O house of Jacob, come, let us walk in the light of the Lord.

Walk today in the LIGHT the LORD has given you. What you know from Him to do, do that today.

Praise and Prayer

This report came in on Saturday: “I just wanted to thank you so much for all your prayers for Hayden. Angie and Matthew are so appreciative!! Hayden is off the ventilator now, still on a few iv drips, but ate a popsicle this evening. He’s on the road to recovery!! Thank you”

This one came in on Friday afternoon: PTL! Mother’s (Marzella) spinal biopsy report was negative so looks like cancer is confined to lung; may be a candidate for surgery. Thank you all for your prayers. God is in control and on His throne! He has shown us so many miracles already in this journey! Love you all! Brenda God Bless You Today!

My Grandson, Ethan, will spend his thirteenth birthday in Russia this year. He will be part of a 40 voice Youth Choir joining thousands in Helsinki , Finland . This is an opportunity that only God could provide, because Ethan’s parents could not afford to send him. The Russian born, raised & trained director wanted him to join them so much that she told my daughter to pay what she could when a cancellation came open. He has an amazing voice for a person so small. To read more about the trip, I’ve included a website if you are interested.

ABBA, please take this brief Word this morning and multiply and flourish it with much fruit in the hearts and walks of our IDOKs today. Thank You for the praises that have come to us and thank You for privilege of prayer and thank You for this opportunity for Ethan; we pray for traveling mercies for him and all his companions, we pray for voices loud, clear and melodious. We pray You will be glorified and the purpose for which You have given Ethan this trip will be realized. We pray for peace and blessings upon the family in all this.

We are remembering Doug this morning and Claudia. You know the need and we are depending upon You to meet it. IDOK DEVOTION FOR FRIDAY, JUNE 26, 2009

I just finished Day Two of Week One. The time went flying by! Do a little exercise with me; actually I have already done it, but humor me, here.

God’s thoughts toward us are what according to Psalm 40:5?

Many, O LORD my God, are Your wonderful works

Which You have done;

And Your thoughts toward us

Cannot be recounted to You in order;

If I would declare and speak of them,

They are more than can be numbered.

God thinks about us so much that we cannot number His Thoughts about us and we humans can count pretty high. Let me give you an example: How many $$ is the National Debt? 10.9 TRILLION and still clicking. How many zeros in a trillion? 12. In fact internet sources (however true they are) say numbers are limitless, they can go on and on and on, even to the degree that we do not yet have names for them.

So that’s why ABBA said His Thoughts about us could not be numbered! He is so AWESOME! Do you reckon He loves you?

Okay. Lets do another one. God’s thoughts are what in Psalm 92:5?

5 O LORD, how great are Your works!

Your thoughts are very deep.

Hmmm. How deep is deep? Again if we can believe internet sources, we would describe deep as this: The Challenger Deep is the deepest surveyed point in the oceans, with a depth of about 11,000 meters (about 36,000 feet) – Wikipedia

If you do the math (and I didn’t) you will recognize that 36,000 (or so) feet is equal to about 7 miles. Now, that’s deep! And OUR God, OUR ABBA designed and created it all. HE IS DEEP!! And He thinks about us!! How AWESOME is that? And are we not SO privileged to be invited to get to KNOW and fellowship with this DEEP GOD? Wow! That’s good!!

And what does Isaiah 55:9 say about ABBA?

“ For as the heavens are higher than the earth,

So are My ways higher than your ways,

And My thoughts than your thoughts.

Okay. Shall we continue with the pattern we have going here? But rather than go with the highest point on earth which would be less than the deepest point of the ocean, lets go with this link describing the farthest away known galaxy. That would be high, don’t you think?

Again I say, we are so privileged to be invited to KNOW and fellowship with Him Who created the galaxies we know about. And what about the ones we have not discovered yet?!! We should be just laid out here in overwhelming admiration, adoration and abandoned surrender to HIM. Oh my goodness, ABBA, make it so. Make it so of us! Oh my goodness, You are Awesome! And You let me call You DADDY! That’s just too much for me!

One more and I will hush for today. This one is most familiar I think. Jeremiah 29:11:

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Do you think He is saying, ‘My goodness child, don’t be afraid, don’t worry; I KNOW My own thoughts about you! I KNOW I love you. I KNOW that all my thoughts, all those you cannot number, all those that are deeper than you can go and higher than you can go, are for you, not against you. All My thoughts for you are so you can experience and know My Peace in this journey you are on right now, today; and when you are finished down there, I am going to bring you up here and, Sweet Love, you ain’t seen nothing yet!!’

Do you think that Kathie Thompson paraphrase gets anywhere near what He is saying? Probably not! But it sure does feel good, doesn’t it?

Oh, ABBA, I have SO enjoyed this today! Thank You. Thank You. I can hardly wait to send it out but I will, and when it does reach their screens I pray You will just illuminate it before their eyes and their lips will praise You; that shouts of joy and praise will come forth from them to Your glory. No problem, no concern, no illness, no disease, no sad situation is too big, too deep, too high for You to handle. We trust You with it all. These listed here, our IDOK Troops, the condition of the world, the hearts of ‘man’, the offices of Washington and every State, the Christian Churches, the non-Christian societies and cults, Precious Israel, Iran, all of it. You can handle it and all we ask is to be trained to stand with You and work with You. Oh, ABBA, YOU are beyond words AWESOME. Thank You. Thank You, for this Word today. Don’t let it fall on deaf ears and don’t let us loose it in our busy-ness, but use it for Your Glory and the good of ourselves and others. Amen and amen.

IDOK DEVOTION FOR THURSDAY, JUNE 25, 2009

As I sit to write, inside my head are swirling thoughts, so many of them, and I am wondering just how many of them will make it to the screen – hopefully some will help you and me. Yesterday, I began via the internet to participate in the summer Bible Study with Beth Moore. She and I and oh, probably close to a 1,000 other women by now, will meet at her Blog every other Tuesday (a total of 4 Tuesdays) to learn the message ABBA gave Jennifer Rothschild in her book Me, Myself & Lies. And today I began the workbook, having now completed Day One. Here’s a little background before I give you the clincher for the day. First Matthew 12:35 (Holman Christian Standard Bible) 35 A good man produces good things from his storeroom of good, and an evil man produces evil things from his storeroom of evil. And Jennifer told us that ‘storeroom’ is like the Magi’s Chest, it is a container. It holds things. And the Magi’s chest held TREASURE for Jesus – gold frankincense and myrrh. Then Jennifer went on to point out to us that our hearts are a thesauros (a container of words), words we use to either bless or curse, speak life or death, to OURSELVES! And the study leads us to seeing what words we have in our thesauros and whether or not it is a treasure chest or a junk yard. Now here’s the clincher: The magi’s treasure chest existed to have something to give Jesus. As we begin to speak wise words to our souls, we do so to ultimately have fitting treasure to offer our King. He deserves our finest thoughts, best words, and a thesauros full of truth. But even with all that said, she was not done with us for she said: As you go through the rest of this day, ask God to show you if you have filled your thesauros based on who you truly are or if you have confused your identity with your struggles. And that is when it hit me . . . why it is that even though I am saved and no doubt loved, I struggle to allow adjectives (for me) like smart in my thesauros but have no difficulty keeping words like stupid, dumb, forgetful, fat, ugly, etc. etc in it and daily speak them to myself! As you go through the rest of this day … that’s the key to my ‘junk yard’ and here’s the TEXT: James 1:24 For he thoughtfully observes himself, and then goes off and promptly forgets what he was like. I study, I do the work, I see it and then I promptly get up from my study and forget it, continuing to tell myself lies about who I am. And if I were a betting woman, which I am not, I would bet you do the same thing. Why else are we failing to see the POWER of God displayed mightily in our day to day comings and goings? (Be reminded: we are talking here who I am, who you are, NOT what we struggle with; and if we continue to believe that we are what we struggle with, we will never walk, talk, or stand in who the Word says we are!).

Here’s the TEXT in context:

22 But be doers of the Word [obey the message], and not merely listeners to it, betraying yourselves [into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth].

23 For if anyone only listens to the Word without obeying it and being a doer of it, he is like a man who looks carefully at his [own] natural face in a mirror;

24 For he thoughtfully observes himself, and then goes off and promptly forgets what he was like.

25 But he who looks carefully into the faultless law, the [law] of liberty, and is faithful to it and perseveres in looking into it, being not a heedless listener who forgets but an active doer [who obeys], he shall be blessed in his doing (his life of obedience).

Yep! That’s the key to getting rid of the junk yard and replacing it with a treasure chest for Jesus – go through the rest of the day thinking about and practicing what I read/heard in The Word. He deserves our finest thoughts, best words, and a thesauros full of truth. Amen and amen. Make it so. Make it so!

Prayer Requests and Reports

As you know we added Micah and Katie on Wednesday.

Today we are adding Brian. Brian has melanoma but the doctor is confident he can get it all that is the good news but there is still the ordeal of it – Brian needs our prayers.

Update on Katie: The tumor is in the center of her brain and attached to the rest of the brain. The biopsy is Friday. They will try to remove all of it and then start radiation.

I can see already this study is timely and I am in the right place; thank You, ABBA. I pray that a whole bunch of us daughters will trade our junk yards for treasure chests.

And now we pray again for Micah and Katie, we really want You to heal these two little ones. And we pray for Brian that all will go well with him; particularly we pray that if he is uncertain of a relationship with You that You will convince him that You are worthy of his trust and that without You he will never be free. And we pray for Loyce and Marzelle, KC, Neolle, Mary, and every other name listed here below, asking for Your Will to be displayed in and through them. We pray for our IDOK Troops to be safe and protected; for America to be cleansed from the White House to every house; and especially for we Your people to repent and walk humbly with You. We pray for Peace for Israel and for Your Gospel to spread like wild fire through the Muslim world. Thank You for tending us with perfect love. Amen and amen.

ABBA, I am posting this here in prayer as a daily prayer and I am praying as pure in motive as I know how today, asking that You by whatever ways and means You choose, see to the removal from office of every elected Official in Washington and all 50 States that is not sensitive to and is not inclined to work to preserve Judaeo-Christian values and the Constitution of this Nation in its Original Intent. Lord, I am so sorry that many (and thank You not all) offices of this Nation are filled with corrupt, reprobate-minded people who have no regard for You or Your Word and if I have done anything that has contributed to the election of these people, please forgive me and stop me from any further actions that will damage and bring this Nation to complete ruin. I pray Holy Spirit that You will stir the hearts and prayers of enough people to bring this Nation to repentance and will clean and cleanse the offices and the Officials of this Nation. Father God, please have mercy on us. Lord Jesus, clean Washington even as You did the Temple if need be. And Lord some weeks later since this prayer began we have word from one of those Alabama officials that he wants our prayers, that he is mindful of You, that he does love You and obviously he is well acquainted with Your Word. And ABBA I am so delighted and grateful for this man and for others like him, so for each of them (and You know who they are, Lord) we pray that You will anoint and empower them to stand firm and holy in these places of service You have given them and Lord please bring others alongside to stand with them and help them. And as he suggested move us to be involved in the political process with more than just our prayers according to the individual will You have for each of us. Again, Lord, thank You for this news, thank You for what You are doing. Amen and amen.
