Tenacious Living – All For The Glory of God!

IDOK DEVOTION FOR THURSDAY, JULY 23, 2009

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-6aeJ8sqLA

I have been reading again this morning in Hebrews and am settling for the purpose of this devotion in chapter 4. As we travel the hours of this Thursday we will meet our challenges if we hold with tenacity this: 13 And not a creature exists that is concealed from His sight, but all things are open and exposed, naked and defenseless to the eyes of Him with Whom we have to do.

That means NOTHING that comes into our lives today will/has taken our God by surprise; no downturn, no upturn, no sickness, no disease, no harsh word, and not even is any one going to get by with mistreating you today that ABBA is not and has not been aware of since before the foundation of the world and He has promised AND He has given instructions; let us read, believe and live tenaciously today all for the glory of our Father.

(Romans 12) 19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Praise Reports and Prayer Requests

ABBA, thank You for this Word this morning; You see, You are aware, nothing is hidden from You; nothing about me, nothing about nothing is concealed from You; that is comforting to me. Thank You. I can rest easy today knowing that You are aware; You know and because You know You will act appropriately and timely not only for Your glory but for my good, all of us, all that You have redeemed. This is good and I am glad. So I pray for our IDOKs and for myself that this Word will take root and bear fruit in us. I pray for our IDOK Troops to be safe and well today. I pray for Israel to be led in Peace; I pray for Your Gospel to be preached in all the world and for sinners to be converted to Christ and for saints to glorify His Name today. And we pray for each listed here, just bringing their name to Your Ears so we can be a part of the work You are doing in them and on their behalf; we entrust them to You, expecting You to lavish Your Love, mercy and grace upon them for Jesus Sake. Amen and amen.

Beth and Me

IDOK DEVOTION FOR WEDNESDAY, JULY 22, 2009

My study time was brief yesterday and I did not settle in to write this morning I have walked 2.22 miles, packed my beloved a lunch, and have decided to let Beth Moore share with us today from her devotional book Breaking Free Day by Day. Today’s reading is this:

What fruit was produced then from the things you are now ashamed of? Romans 6:21

Have you noticed that there is no such thing as a small act of disobedience? To disregard God’s commands is a sure way to bear bitter fruit, sooner or later. Some of Israel’s kings who otherwise followed God’s ways still failed to tear down the high places of pagan worship. Ultimately, this oversight took its toll. A kingdom resulted in which God’s own people sacrificed their children to pagan gods.

Truly, anything we exalt over God in our thoughts—even a little thing—is an idol, which is a terrible affront to God. It is also an open invitation to disaster. Never forget the ever-increasing nature of sin.

Even though I am brief this morning I cannot let this observation pass. A kingdom resulted in which God’s own people sacrificed their children to pagan gods. America dare not thumb her nose at this event in Israel’s history as since Row v Wade Americans have sacrificed more than 38,325,000 of their own children to the god of self in the abortion mills across this Land. What a gracious God we have that He has not annihilated us.

Lamentations 3:22 Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not.

Romans 6:

15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!

16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?

17 But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered.

18 And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.

19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.

20 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.

21 What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.

22 But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

May the Peace of God and our gratitude to Him rule in us today so that we will not sin against our God!

Something More Than Feelings

IDOK DEVOTION FOR TUESDAY, JULY 21, 2009

Often when we receive a Word from God, feelings come along with that Word and I, for one, love that feeling! It’s a mountain top experience and it is my favorite place to be! But the Word is not walked out on the peaks; the path to fulfillment of the Word is somewhere below those peaks. And somewhere below those peaks that FEELING is going to fade and the ugly, ugly face of doubt is going to show up in the shadows. So make sure you latch on with a ‘life grip’ to the FACT of the Word you heard; it’s your foundation in the trenches; it’s what will keep you steady when that much loved feeling is gone and you are waiting and waiting for what God said to you to be seen with your ‘baby blues’, ‘bold browns’, ‘hopeful hazels’ or ‘gentle greens’. Did I leave out anyone?

Psalm 123

1 Unto You I lift up my eyes,

O You who dwell in the heavens.

2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters,

As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress,

So our eyes look to the LORD our God,

Until He has mercy on us.

And this one is so good!!

2 Chronicles 13 NKJV

10 But as for us, the LORD is our God, and we have not forsaken Him; and the priests who minister to the LORD are the sons of Aaron, and the Levites attend to their duties.

The KJV says the Levites attend to their business. I love that. When the feeling fades lets keep attending our business. And what is our business? Believing God, of course!

Praise Reports and Prayer Requests

This is an update on Noelle. She has been home almost 3 weeks now. After she finished up with her antibiotics, her appetite is improving again. She is now eating some table food again. We received a lift this week to help get her out of bed into the wheelchair. This has really brightened her spirits. She is able to get up for short periods of time and sit outside again weather permitting. I have a large fan in the patio area for her. God sent us a beautiful morning today, almost like a spring day and she enjoyed it very much. Roxanne (Noelle’s 8 year old daughter) is home now and attending day camp with the YMCA. She loves it and has so much fun, sometimes she doesn’t want to come home. She is confused by her mommy’s illness and does not talk about it much. God is so good to give us this time together and we cherish every moment. Trisha

My last word on Doug is he was resting, the surgeon believes he got all he needed to get; it will be a week or so before lab results are received.

ABBA, this is really good; thank You. It is a Word to me I am taking it! Thank You. And thank You for keeping Doug through the surgery and we look to You for the best outcome for Doug and not only for Doug but for others too, like Donald, Noelle, Roy, Ed, Mollie, and every one listed here. And I pray for weary ones for them to experience renewed strength and minds; for our IDOK Troops to be safe and protected from all harm in spirit, soul and body and for each of them to come home safe and sound. We again pray for peace for Israel; the spread of the Gospel around the world; for health, safety and every provision needed for Christian missionaries, for the cleansing of America and for revival in us. I pray for rest and peace for all our IDOKs. Amen and amen.
