IDOK DEVOTION FOR MONDAY, JULY 20, 2009

Okay, what do I do with the remainder of this day? What would be holy and acceptable and beneficial? Do I have to? Is there anything else that will get me out of this funk? Ugh! Am I really what that word means?

A state of cowardly fright; a panic.

A state of severe depression.

A cowardly, fearful person.

Is this what is up with me? A spiritual funk? This cannot go on! What did David say? Why should I be depressed?

Psalm 42

5 Why are you cast down, O my soul?

And why are you disquieted within me?

Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him

For the help of His countenance.

What is that? For the help of YOUR countenance? What does that mean? What about Your Countenance? What does YOUR countenance do for me? And there it is – Oh, You answer so good!

Numbers 6:

26The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).

The Penman was saying; You are saying through him that I am helped when I look at Your Face and see that You are smiling at me, You approve of me, You love me, is that right? That IS peace! But to have this peace, I would have to see Your Face, Your Countenance, by faith, wouldn’t I? And if I don’t, I just then called You a liar, didn’t I? Oh, that seems harsh. That would be a hard message to deliver. Is there another way to say the same thing? If I don’t see Your Face looking at me with love and acceptance, then some one else or some thing else is standing between You and me. Oh, okay and then what? And that some one or that some thing could only do that if I let them? That’s right! You have already given me the power in Christ Jesus to remove them from between us. Okay, so who’s standing there? Who is the person or thing that is preventing me from seeing Your Countenance? Who? Me? It’s me? It’s me, my own will, my own pride, my own want it my way, disguised to look like him or her or it? You are right. Thank You, ABBA. By faith, I see Your Face. By faith I am at Peace. I love You, DADDY GOD. You are so AWESOME to love us and all of us born and seated in Christ Jesus You do look upon on us with Your approving, loving countenance. Amazing!

Update on Marzelle: Mom will have surgery July 27! God has been sooooo good to us. We have many miracles to share. Thank you all for your prayers. Mother is a real trooper and a warrior! Love you all! Brenda God Bless You Today!

Update on Katie: Katie’s tumor was found to be benign. Each CT scan shows more improvement. Drainage has stopped and swelling has decreased greatly and should be gone by Sunday. Radiation treatments will begin after discharge to home. Keep praying for them.

ABBA, Thank You that even though this devotion was written days ago, it is still true. Thank You. And thank You that in Christ Jesus Your Face is toward us in approval and love. And thank You for the excellent news from Katie and Marzelle and we pray for more good reports concerning them. We pray for Doug for rest and peace and for a successful surgery; for doctors and staff to be well rested and we ask that You enable them to perform a textbook perfect procedure. Keep Claudia stayed on You and in perfect peace. As Joni and Todd make arrangements, guide them and bring along side every help they need; help them grieve in holiness and rest and be comforted that they will see Anna again. Undergird Roy and Julee for the task before them and again we pray for his healing; we pray for Mollie B and her family, for peace and comfort and for all the others listed we pray for knowledge and love to abound. We pray for continued protection for our IDOK Troops and safe returns home; for the cleansing of America, for the refreshing and reviving of Your Church; for peace for Israel, for the spread of Your Gospel to all the world and for sinners to be converted to faith in Jesus as Savior and Lord. IDOK DEVOTION FOR FRIDAY, JULY 17, 2009

HIS REST is OUR NEED

1THEREFORE, WHILE the promise of entering His rest still holds and is offered [today], let us be afraid [to distrust it], lest any of you should think he has come too late and has come short of [reaching] it.

2 For indeed we have had the glad tidings [Gospel of God] proclaimed to us just as truly as they [the Israelites of old did when the good news of deliverance from bondage came to them]; but the message they heard did not benefit them, because it was not mixed with faith (with the leaning of the entire personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness) by those who heard it; neither were they united in faith with the ones [Joshua and Caleb] who heard (did believe).

3 For we who have believed (adhered to and trusted in and relied on God) do enter that rest, in accordance with His declaration that those [who did not believe] should not enter when He said, As I swore in My wrath, They shall not enter My rest; and this He said although [His] works had been completed and prepared [and waiting for all who would believe] from the foundation of the world.

I’m still reading in Hebrews and how intriguing it is that when I finally talked myself into getting out of bed, the place where I am in Hebrews is talking to me about REST (and I seem to just not get enough of it) and how the Ancient People of Israel did not enter in ABBA’s REST because of unbelief. And I have heard the admonition many times from this passage that we do not want to be stiff-necked and rebellious and fail to enter into the REST of God. And I agree. I want the REST of God and this morning as I was checking my on-line Greek Lexicon one particular definition of REST was bold on the page to me. For our word REST in Greek is katavpausi? and the transliterated word Katapausis comes from another Greek word that is pauvw and transliterated Pauo. And rest means what you think it means a resting place, a putting to rest; but to get the full benefit of the Greek language you would have to be way more informed than I am, but be that as it may, I looked at four Greek words meaning rest and I settled on this: to make to cease or desist

to restrain a thing or person from something

to cease, to leave off

have got release from sin

no longer stirred by its incitements and seductions

For me to have REST, the Rest ABBA intends for me to have I must BELIEVE Him and in that believing I will no longer be stirred by sin’s incitements and seductions. Now that my Sisters and Brothers is REST!!

I am sad that we must add Roy and Julee to our list again. Cancer has returned to Roy and he and his dear wife, Julee, need our prayers.

A sweetheart of an IDOK wrote it so well to me today when she said: Life is hard but God is good! Amen and Amen.

ABBA, without a doubt we need Your REST and without a doubt we have Your REST when we believe You. We pray as the father in the Gospel of Mark prayed LORD help my unbelief. In all our situations and there are many, many of them represented in these names listed here and in the email addresses to whom this writing is sent – volumes of them, LORD and in particular this morning, Roy and Julee; disease and sickness; physical sickness, emotional sickness, spiritual sickness and spiritual death – all of this and it is way heavy and we pray for Your REST; help us enter into Your REST. Please comfort and protect our IDOK Troops; please continue Your Plan and Way for Israel and America and Your Church and revive us, Your sons and daughters, to fight the good fight of faith. Amen and amen.

ABBA, I am posting this here in prayer as a daily prayer and I am praying as pure in motive as I know how today, asking that You by whatever ways and means You choose, see to the removal from office of every elected Official in Washington and all 50 States that is not sensitive to and is not inclined to work to preserve Judaeo-Christian values and the Constitution of this Nation in its Original Intent. Lord, I am so sorry that many (and thank You not all) offices of this Nation are filled with corrupt, reprobate-minded people who have no regard for You or Your Word and if I have done anything that has contributed to the election of these people, please forgive me and stop me from any further actions that will damage and bring this Nation to complete ruin. I pray Holy Spirit that You will stir the hearts and prayers of enough people to bring this Nation to repentance and will clean and cleanse the offices and the Officials of this Nation. Father God, please have mercy on us. Lord Jesus, clean Washington even as You did the Temple if need be. And Lord some weeks later since this prayer began we have word from one of those Alabama officials that he wants our prayers, that he is mindful of You, that he does love You and obviously he is well acquainted with Your Word. And ABBA I am so delighted and grateful for this man and for others like him, so for each of them (and You know who they are, Lord) we pray that You will anoint and empower them to stand firm and holy in these places of service You have given them and Lord please bring others alongside to stand with them and help them. And as he suggested move us to be involved in the political process with more than just our prayers according to the individual will You have for each of us. Again, Lord, thank You for this news, thank You for what You are doing. Amen and amen.

IDOK DEVOTION FOR THURSDAY, JULY 16, 2009

I begin with an apology for my tardiness to this screen. Life is full!!

Yesterday we spoke of three answers from ABBA: yes, no, wait. Today I have continued reading in Hebrews and this morning for us I am asking questions as to verse 18 of chapter 2. Here’s the verse and following will be my questions: For because He Himself [in His humanity] has suffered in being tempted (tested and tried), He is able [immediately] to run to the cry of (assist, relieve) those who are being tempted and tested and tried [and who therefore are being exposed to suffering]. First, we know tempted, tested and tried are not equal. Tempted by definition is that we are at the crossroad of choice, we can go either way: God’s Way or our way; one is victory and one is sin. Simple as that. Does this verse mean that when we are standing at that crossroad of choice between victory and sin and if we call out to Him that He will show up IMMEDIATELY to give us strength to choose victory? I think it does. Does it mean that if we are in a situation and we are calling out for relief from that suffering situation and He is not IMMEDIATELY removing us from that suffering, does that mean that He knows we have the strength He has already infused into us (and is there to continue to infuse into us) to be victorious and not sin in that situation? Is that what this verse is saying? And if He already knows that, is it not of paramount importance to us for us to remain in that situation until WE know that? Is that why deliverance tarries? Ponder it and if you are so led, share your ponderings. Again, sorry for the delay this morning; His love in me to you all!

For Donald 2 we have great news! He is home from the hospital, sooner than expected. His physical healing is progressing and he appears to be moving in the direction of a spiritual healing; he needs our prayers for this most important miracle of all miracles – to Trust the Lord all the way to holy living.

ABBA, I thank You for this to think about today and I pray that I will think about it, and ponder it until You give me with certainty just what it is You want me to know and not only me but every IDOK and every reader who comes upon this writing. I am personally grateful and encouraged and delighted with this news about Donald (2) and I am personally asking You, Holy Spirit, to hang in there with him and send others along too, to steer and guide Donald to a life of holiness. I pray for any brother of mine out there that You have prepared for this rescue ministry to say yes to You and get in there with Donald and walk with him out of this pit, all the way to holy wholeness. And we pray for our other Donald for You to heal him; and there are many, many others on this list that we would love to see You cure from cancer and other diseases, so we ask that You do that. We know we have nothing to lose by asking; we also know that You are able, that You are loving and kind and just and more descriptive words of perfection and love than we have; so we trust these to You. By faith we will in love and grace accept Your will for these we love. And we pray for our IDOK Troops for their safety and safe returns home and we pray for the Peace of Israel and for the WORLD to hear Your Gospel and for the cleansing of America and for Your Church to rise up and be filled with Your Holy Spirit, to have dreams and visions and appropriately act upon them for Jesus Name Sake. Amen and amen.
