IDOK DEVOTION FOR TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2009
http://picasaweb.google.com/PupandKat/SweetPotatoes?authkey=Gv1sRgCOXyxaDB1NS8eg#
This was a relaxing day, don’t know when we’ve had a better Labor Day; hope you all had similar experiences.
I took a couple sweet potatoes that were way passed eating and which had begun to sprout, out to a basket hanging in our Bradford pear tree and today I noticed anew how brilliant and amazing is our God. Not only do these sweet potatoes have beautiful vines growing, but roots too! Such tiny, little things that look so delicate one wonders how could they push through soil and moss; but they did!
You and I are much tougher than sweet potato roots, we can do this thing called living Christian! Philippians 4: 13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Praise Reports and Prayer Requests
Kathie, I went to my 30th high school reunion Saturday and got reacquainted with some old classmates. Never would have reconnected if it were not for Facebook. One of my old classmates urgently needs prayer. I’d like to ask you to do your wonderful broadcast and get the prayers flowing heavenward. I’ll copy and paste some of the details here:
Two years ago Louise nearly died due to Superior Vena Cava Syndrome. She has been admitted again for the same thing and will have vascular surgery in the morning (Tuesday, Sept 8). The last time it was very difficult for her and her family. She spent 8 days on a ventilator and many unsuccessful attempts to put in a stent (it finally did take). The day after our 30 year High school reunion, she started showing signs similar to what happened before. At least this time she was stateside and was able to get to the ER quickly. Please pray that there will be one successful attempt tomorrow. Also say a few prayers for Ray, her husband, and her three kids. Thank you, Monica
Thanks Kathie. I know I can count on you to get the word out. Patti
ABBA, You really have put together a beautiful ministry here; we do not even know all the prayers You have heard and answered from this group of saints we call IDOKs. Thank You for giving this privilege and responsibility to us. And we pray for Louise; we would so love it if you would attend to this tomorrow and the first attempt be a good one. I would so love it if You would display Your Goodness and Mercy on her behalf tomorrow; aid the doctors, cause tomorrow’s procedure to be textbook perfect. We are placing this in Your Hands, trusting You and thanking You now for what You do. We pray too now for these others listed here; there’s a lot wrapped up in these names, the love and devotion of family and friends who care so much and we pray for Your Best to be done for these. We pray for our IDOK Troops to be safe and for them all to come home loving You more than when they deployed. We pray for the peace of Israel, the repentance of America and we Your Church to be revived and motivated like never before to pray, abide in Your Word and tell others that they need a Savior and You, Jesus, will save them if they will believe.
