Moving-Ins

IDOK DEVOTION FOR MONDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2009

I’m at a loss for words this morning. There were happy events this weekend and hard happenings this weekend. A happy and delightful couple moved into a new home and two Saints moved HOME. Both moving-ins were a pleasure to those ‘moving-in’. In one case we can visit from time to time and enjoy their home with them. In the other cases, we will not see their faces again until we get HOME too. This is what one FaceBook Friend wrote about Doug: Heaven has certainly gained a fine trustee of its mansions! It was our honor to have known Doug. Amen.

I Thessalonians 4:

13Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope.

14We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.

15According to the Lord’s own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.

16For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.

17After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

18Therefore encourage each other with these words.

Praise Reports and Prayer Requests

And we must be about caring for these families in prayer this morning. John Kirk, Sr.’s and Doug Stowe’s Memorial Services will be on Tuesday.

ABBA, getting to our IDOKs this late is not a pleasing thing to me but thank You for the privilege of getting to them. Thank You for John and for Doug, for the years and for the influence in Your Name they gave to their families, friends and to their corner of the world. We ask You now to comfort the families, hold them up in these most difficult hours of saying their temporary goodbyes and please continue in those long days before we say hello again. Thank You for the comfort and strength You are to us.

We pray too for our IDOK Troops for their safety and protection today and we pray for each name listed here for their peace and strength, comfort, pain relief and healings in Jesus Name. Amen and amen.
