Excuses

If I were really your friend, I’d tell you the truth, wouldn’t I?

I’d tell you that the difficulty in relationships is not all because they won’t behave well. I’d tell you that you wear your feelings on your sleeves, that you have a chip on your shoulder and it gets bumped off a lot.

I’d tell you not all they say is cruel or crazy but you hear it that way.

I’d tell you, you are not the only one who hurts. I’d tell you there are two sides to every coin.

I’d tell you it hurts to see you hurt. And I’d tell you it hurts to see you hurt others.

But I’m afraid to tell you. I’m afraid of how you will react. I’m afraid I will make you angry. Afraid I will hurt you and make you cry. Or scream – at me, or not. Afraid. So afraid.

Love. Maybe that’s it. If I loved you enough I would tell you.

Shame. Guilt. One heaped upon the other. But that’s not altogether the whole of it. I do love you. I know I do, ‘cause I’ve watched and listened, examined and prayed . . . but still I can’t tell you. I think I know why. I’m afraid you don’t love me. So what do I do? Love takes time. Time to decide. Time to watch. Time to see.

Faithful. Faithful I must be, so you will see.

So I’ll keep praying and waiting, praying and waiting for love to grow, and one day perhaps we both will know HE has told us so.

Holy hugs, kt

Do you know it? Do you know JESUS SAVES?

It has been a busy weekend and truth be told, I’m tired! And the week ahead promises to be even busier! So perhaps I’ll be brief. :)

I got a new book on Friday night – Morning and Evening – A book of devotions by Charles Spurgeon.  Let me share one with you for today’s IDOK Lesson.

“The lot is cast into the lap, but the whole disposing thereof is of the Lord.” Proverbs 16:33

If the disposal of the lot is the Lord’s whose is the arrangement of our whole life? If the simple casting of a lot is guided by Him, how much more the events of our entire life–especially when we are told by our blessed Saviour: “The very hairs of your head are all numbered: not a sparrow falleth to the ground without your Father.” It would bring a holy calm over your mind, dear friend, if you were always to remember this. It would so relieve your mind from anxiety, that you would be the better able to walk in patience, quiet, and cheerfulness as a Christian should. When a man is anxious he cannot pray with faith; when he is troubled about the world, he cannot serve his Master, his thoughts are serving himself. If you would “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,” all things would then be added unto you. You are meddling with Christ’s business, and neglecting your own when you fret about your lot and circumstances. You have been trying “providing” work and forgetting that it is yours to obey. Be wise and attend to the obeying, and let Christ manage the providing. Come and survey your Father’s storehouse, and ask whether He will let you starve while He has laid up so great an abundance in His garner? Look at His heart of mercy; see if that can ever prove unkind! Look at His inscrutable wisdom; see if that will ever be at fault. Above all, look up to Jesus Christ your Intercessor, and ask yourself, while He pleads, can your Father deal ungraciously with you? If He remembers even sparrows, will He forget one of the least of His poor children? “Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He will sustain thee. He will never suffer the righteous to be moved.”

“My soul, rest happy in thy low estate, Nor hope nor wish to be esteem’d or great; TO take the impress of the Will Divine, Be that thy glory, and those riches thine.”

Thank You, Father, for books to purchase containing words You inspired men (and women) to write.  I appreciate Charles Spurgeon and the legacy he left here when You called him HOME. I pray HOLY SPIRIT, that You will lead us to be legacies in JESUS’ Name. We pray for our loved ones trusting You to care for them, tend to them and provide all their needs in CHRIST JESUS. I pray too for all our IDOKs and Readers, asking that this lesson be a source of strength and comfort and however else You chose to apply it to our hearts in JESUS’ NAME. Amen and amen.

S E R I O U S L Y!

Christmas Song # 12 *** O Holy Night ***

Just for the fun  of it (and since it is my birthday :) ) would you PLEASE leave a comment sharing which of these 12 songs so far is your favorite?

If you would like to review all 12, each is linked on page You Tubes

I don’t mind telling you with this one, I shouted, cried and clapped sitting right here before you and this computer screen. O Hallelujah THE SAVIOR HAS COME!!

The SON of DAVID, legal and HOLY heir to the Throne of David, is JESUS CHRIST THE LORD!!  (Matthew 1:1-18)

I’ve been studying for Sunday School this morning in chapters 1 and 2 of Matthew and I’m about to give away part of my preparing for class ’cause for sure at least one faithful IDOK (and Reader)  is a member of the class.

Per chance any one of us should be waiting and praying and waiting for ABBA to bring something to fruition I want us to ‘take heart’ today. Our ABBA, GOD and KING takes His Word, His Promises S E R I O U S L Y! Not one thing He ever says He will do, does He not do!

Just in two chapters alone in the book of Matthew is recorded by Him for us these words:

Chapter 1, verse 22: “Now all this took place TO FULFILL what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet.”

Chapter 2, verse 15: “He remained there until the death of Herod. This was TO FULFILL what had been spoken by the Lord through the prophet: “OUT OF EGYPT I CALLED MY SON.”

Verse 17: “Then what had been spoken through Jeremiah the prophet WAS FULFILLED:”

Verse 23: “and came and lived in a city called Nazareth. This was TO FULFILL what was spoken through the prophets: “He shall be called a Nazarene.”

Our AWESOME, LOVING GOD means what He says and says what He means and He makes sure it comes to be. So if you have come to the Word of God and He has spoken His Word over you and confirmed in your Spirit by His Spirit that He will do such and such; Honey, you can take that PROMISE NOTE to the BANK of HEAVEN and you will be rewarded the full face value written thereon!  You MUST hold onto it until MATURITY, and based upon the Character and the Word of our HOLY GOD and FATHER it will be so!! (If you don’t mind, let me point you to another [IDOK] post for more encouragement, Did You Check the Attic? ).

Oh, ABBA, this is so GOOD. Thank You. Thank You. And HOLY SPIRIT, I pray right now with my sisters and brothers that You will anoint me to minister Your Word and serve Your People on Sunday Morning; but not just Sunday Morning in Sunday School but anywhere and everywhere You will privilege me to do so. I pray to be accurate and filled with love for You and People always.

And as it has come to mind, I pray for Jessica, the young woman in Walmart last night and her beau, Joshua, that was so fun – thank You – I pray for them now; for strength and courage to do right, to trust, to wait and lean hard upon You as they seek to know what You have for them.  And not just for them but for these too – Praying for These – I am honored for the privilege of bringing each name before You this day. I know You love them, I know Your heart is for them, to do good for them and even through them for others and so I and we are entrusting them and their needs and even their wants to You and as always we include our IDOK Troops too for safety and protection and wisdom and right decisions and safe and sound homecomings. And there are other matters no doubt, many that are represented by every precious one who comes to read and pray at this screen.  I ask You, ABBA, in the Name and through the BLOOD and RIGHTEOUSNESS of JESUS to tend them, to encourage them and bring them up a step higher in fellowship with You today. And in particular Elaine comes to mind, comfort and bless and heal her I pray in JESUS NAME. Amen and amen.

Christmas Hope and Holy hugs, kt
