Trendy Christianity

Let me share this young woman with you, especially this particular post. A young woman in her 20s! This 60 something woman is delighted to meet – Rad Faith! 🙂

The Bible has no disclaimer saying “this might offend you, read with caution.” Similarly, this post will have no disclaimer at the end telling you that what you read is “to each his own.”

Let me tell you something, Christian to Christian, believer to believer. Maybe you are not a believer, but you have noticed this trend with your Christian friends. Here it is: WE (Christians) ARE MIRRORING THE WORLD.

What? Let me explain.

In trying to be inclusive and loving to everyone, which in itself is a good thing, we are becoming no different than the world around us, except for the big fat Christian label we place on ourselves. This is dangerous.

With that being said…listen. The church is not for us. It is not a sanctuary for ourselves. The church’s purpose is to glorify the Most High, the Father of the Universe, the…

Reading?

So what are you reading?

Are you like me, vowing to yourself that you will read more in 2017?

The last book of 2016 for me was this one. I’m a slow reader but I read Lost Decemberdownload in just a few days. It taught me some things about writing; I liked it. A lot! Albeit, riding for many miles gave an unusual number of hours for reading. Often when I read books I see potential Hallmark movies; this one would not make a Hallmark – it deals with some dark subject matter but handled well I think.

I’m in process now with Ann Voskamp’s latest: The Broken Way. 318583
I am savoring this one; reading extra slowly and making many notes to myself.   She has an online study beginning this month re this book. I’ve signed up.  You can too. Right HERE.

And on the recommendation of someone I love I am reading this: It’s All Over but the Shoutin.  51uygkcko3l-_sx321_bo1204203200_

And so far it’s life – messy life in the deep South a few decades ago; funny, heart-breaking, real stuff written in such a phenomenal way to be flat-out entertaining while teaching me things I need to know.  I may have more to say later when I’m finished.

So as I began. What are you reading?

2 Timothy 2:15  (KJV)
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not
to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. source

Study to rightly divide the truth – even in fiction 🙂

Blessings on Tuesday,
