IDOK DEVOTION FOR MONDAY, JULY 6, 2009

Good Monday Morning Dear IDOKs.We hope you have had a weekend of holy fun.

Psalm 118:23-25 (King James Version)

23 This is the LORD’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.

24 This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

25 Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.

And this morning we begin again.

This is the LORD’s doing; the sunrise, a new day stretched out before us, let it be marvelous in our eyes.Let us see the marvelous displays of His love for us today.And yes let us REJOICE and be glad today. Be glad that HE our God and Creator and King and Father has gone before us, has come behind us and is with us and has made this day that we may PROSPER. It is HIS good pleasure to prosper us today, it is our part to rejoice and let Him be Marvelous in our eyes.

Yes, ABBA save us, we beseech You now to save us from grumbling and complaining about this day but inspire us to rejoice and in our rejoicing we know You will send prosperity. And above silver and gold we ask You to send spiritual prosperity. As we interact with family and friends today we pray we will seek spiritual prosperity for them and for ourselves.We pray for tender hearts, tender to Your voice today, tender and open before You to confess sins and wrongdoings and turn from them quickly.We pray for hearts tender and open, ready to hear and obey Your instructions today.We pray for ready hands and feet to go about doing good today for our families and friends and neighbors, near and far. We pray for these listed here, some are not prospering in health as we had hoped and yet we are reminded that our hope is in You on their behalf and You do not fail.We pray for rest and peace for weary caregivers and even a respite for them, Lord. We pray for our IDOK Soldiers for their safety in spirit, soul and body; we pray they may prosper in spirit especially today.We continue our prayers for Peace for Israel, for the spread of Your Gospel in Iran and around the globe. We pray for the saving of America and the reviving of Your Church.Make us faithful servants in Jesus Name today. Amen and amen. 

ABBA, I am posting this here in prayer as a daily prayer and I am praying as pure in motive as I know how today, asking that You by whatever ways and means You choose, see to the removal from office of every elected Official in Washington and all 50 States that is not sensitive to and is not inclined to work to preserve Judaeo-Christian values and the Constitution of this Nation in its Original Intent. Lord, I am so sorry that many (and thank You not all) offices of this Nation are filled with corrupt, reprobate-minded people who have no regard for You or Your Word and if I have done anything that has contributed to the election of these people, please forgive me and stop me from any further actions that will damage and bring this Nation to complete ruin. I pray Holy Spirit that You will stir the hearts and prayers of enough people to bring this Nation to repentance and will clean and cleanse the offices and the Officials of this Nation. Father God, please have mercy on us. Lord Jesus, clean Washington even as You did the Temple if need be. And Lord some weeks later since this prayer began we have word from one of those Alabama officials that he wants our prayers, that he is mindful of You, that he does love You and obviously he is well acquainted with Your Word. And ABBA I am so delighted and grateful for this man and for others like him, so for each of them (and You know who they are, Lord) we pray that You will anoint and empower them to stand firm and holy in these places of service You have given them and Lord please bring others alongside to stand with them and help them. And as he suggested move us to be involved in the political process with more than just our prayers according to the individual will You have for each of us. Again, Lord, thank You for this news, thank You for what You are doing. Amen and amen.

It is the third verse of the song that speaks most poignantly to me today. Maybe it will you too.

This is my Father's world.  

O let me ne’er forget

that though the wrong seems oft so strong,

God is the ruler yet.

This is my Father’s world:

The Lord is King; let the heavens ring!

God reigns; let the earth be glad!

Let me not forget that though the wrong seems often so strong, God is the ruler yet. We do not have far to look to see rampant wrong, very strong; for some it is even in their own homes; the fact that God is ruler yet may be all that gives strength to keep on keeping on. To Him be the glory!

I opened The Word and read this:

Isaiah 55 (Amplified Bible)

1 WAIT and listen, everyone who is thirsty! Come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Yes, come, buy [priceless, spiritual] wine and milk without money and without price [simply for the self-surrender that accepts the blessing].

This is the picture that formed for me as I read. At a busy intersection stands a Man, not an unattractive man, but not the ‘holly-wood’ type either; but a Man with a message and more than a message – He has passion. You can see it. You can feel it. And He says, ‘WAIT, LISTEN! Before you walk on by, listen – are you thirsty? I have water. There’s no charge to you. Come. Come and drink. Come, drink till you are full. No, really! There’s no charge to you. I bought it for you – all of you. And not just water – whatever you need, I purchased it. Come, come and receive. Won’t you’?

An interesting monologue, wouldn’t you say? Have you heard a similar one? Is the GOD-MAN offering you something today? Has HE said WAIT, Listen! And are you? Has HE made you an offer that you shouldn’t refuse? HE has me. Am I foolish enough to refuse? Oh I hope not! Are you? And then HE says:

2 Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your earnings for what does not satisfy? Hearken diligently to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness [the profuseness of spiritual joy].

3 Incline your ear [submit and consent to the divine will] and come to Me; hear, and your soul will revive; and I will make an everlasting covenant or league with you, even the sure mercy (kindness, goodwill, and compassion) promised to David.

Got a dry and parched soul? Hear HIS promise: come to Me; hear, and your soul will revive —

Your soul WILL revive. Oh! What a promise! And don’t we need it so much? Wouldn’t that give us the FREEDOM to make us really FREE?

Praise Reports and Prayer Requests

Most of the mass in Katie’s brain was removed, there are still unanswered questions and treatments to come. Please pray as you are prompted by the Holy Spirit.

Donald 1’s surgery was postponed until Monday; our continued prayers are needed and appreciated.

ABBA, we do want to be a holy display of Your Glory, more beautiful, more thrilling than the most beautiful fireworks displayed in any night sky we have ever seen or will see. Groom us and train us to be a brilliant display, shining brightly against the backdrop of this dark society surrounding us. And don’t let these just be words we type, words we read, but really words we pray and mean. Move us and shape us so that even our closest family sees the transformation in us.

And today we are praying for Holly asking for her medical condition to be cleared and for her health to be restored. And we pray for family dynamics, for changes to come, even quickly if possible, LORD, for wrongs to be corrected, for peace to settle in where strife is now prevailing, for spiritual freedom to come and set captives free, for thirsty people to realize their thirst and come and drink. And for lives invaded by illness and disease we pray for health and restoration. And for weary souls we pray they will receive rest and refreshment. For IDOK Troops we pray for safety and all around well being and for safe returns home to family and friends. And for Israel’s Peace we pray and for America’s repentance, for Iran and country after country to hear the Gospel and believe. LORD, look into the heart, mind and life of every person named here below and speak to them today. We pray they will hear You say Come and we pray they will for Your glory and their good. Truly our hope is built on nothing less than the Blood of Christ Jesus our Savior; all other ground is sinking sand. Found in Him, you, my sister and brother, are standing on a FIRM FOUNDATION today and in Him you shall not be moved however fierce the wind may be.

Ephesians 2:

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,

5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

Oh, ABBA, how do we even begin this morning to thank You for Your rich mercy and the SOLID ROCK, Christ Jesus, upon Whom our salvation, eternity, life and well being is built and resting forever? Thank You, LORD, and as we rush here and there this morning, to care for this one and that one, and make this arrangement and that arrangement and prepare for the weekend and all that is in our minds to do today, help us to not forget You.

We still have all these listed here in mind this morning and we have Donald to add. You know his need, you know his past and you know his future and we pray that You will tend to him and that he will respond physically and spiritually. We pray that he will arise from this to give You glory and serve You with an even greater passion than he has served himself. I am grateful for the privilege to pray for him and I thank You for the love and testimony that brought his name to us. You are AWESOME GOD! Thank You for giving us LIFE.

IDOK DEVOTION FOR WEDNESDAY, JULY 1, 2009

I have completed week one of Me, Myself and Lies! If you speak words to yourself that you would not speak to another, I recommend this study to you.

It has been a busy week, have pretty much abandoned my normal schedule, but Lord willing will return to it tomorrow.

Two words God spoke over me yesterday while sitting in the park watching grandchildren play: grace and truth. Is it graceful? Is it truthful? If I can answer yes, yes then I can speak it; otherwise – hush!

And this morning I have been reading in Isaiah 12. It’s a short chapter only 6 verses, but packed with power for us when we believe it. I’ll give you one verse here and close this morning. I particularly like the Amplified Version as it says: Cry aloud and shout joyfully, you women and inhabitants of Zion, for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.

With a few exceptions we, IDOKs, are a group of women and I am convinced that the Holy One of Israel is in our midst and He is here to do great works among us and, yes, even through us. He has done great works in our midst already but He is surely not finished with us. And if I am to see those great works and if I am to be a vessel of those great works, I must remember, grace and truth – speak it or hush!

You are so gracious ABBA. So gracious to me, to all of us; thank You for the Words You speak over us that Your Words are filled to overflowing with Grace and are altogether, forever Truth. I was reminded yesterday Lord, You are full of grace and truth and so must I be. Make it so. Make it so. Thank You for Kim’s good report and we pray the reports will continue to be good. We pray for Jon today as he seeks medical assessment and help for issues and conditions that You will guide the physicians to accurate diagnosis and appropriate remedies. We pray too for Ed and Debra, I know little to nothing about their conditions but obviously they desire to be helped and healed and so we pray for this. And Doug, I am beyond words except to speak again that You are love, You are kind and gracious in all that You do and allow. Thank You for Your presence with Doug and Claudia and Lord, Thy will be done. And over all these today we speak Your Grace, Your Truth, Your Healing and Uplifting Love and Mercy. And over our IDOK Troops we speak protection and safety and safe returns home to family and friends. And to troubled in mind and soul IDOKs we speak rest and trust. Amen and amen.

A P.S. here, ABBA, before I send this out, You know the email report I got concerning Wayne B. That was a tremendously horrendous day he had at the clinic and tomorrow another procedure is ordered. I cannot imagine it and I hardly know how to pray and yet I remember the message written above — YOU know what to do for Wayne, his wife and family. YOU know Your thoughts and plans for them and so it is for those plans, those blessings we pray now for them. Amen and amen.
