IDOK DEVOTION FOR FRIDAY, MAY 15, 2009

It has been a long day, but one I have enjoyed. I considered going to bed at 8:30 and getting up really early to write our Devotion for today but before going to bed I decided to read Proverbs 14. And when I did 10 words lay comfortingly and gently on my soul. Let me briefly share them with you.

Proverbs 14:26 In the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, and His children shall always have a place of refuge.

And His children shall always have a place of refuge. Oh that feels good. Let those words and the significance of them wrap you in comfort and peace. As His daughter or son, You always have a place of refuge, not sometimes, not ever once in a while but always. My on line dictionary defines refuge this way:

1. Protection or shelter, as from danger or hardship.

2. A place providing protection or shelter.

3. A source of help, relief, or comfort in times of trouble.

And my Hebrew Lexicon gave me this:

The Hebrew word for refuge is hoxm and its transliterated word is machaceh and as we would expect it means refuge, shelter from rain or storm or danger. And then look at this: from falsehood.

In Him as His sons and daughters, we are never left alone with wolves to rip and tear us to pieces; we are never left in a storm without a port; we are never left in a pit of darkness without a light to find the ladder up; and we are never left to be swallowed up in falsehood. I believe this is a promise from our Father that we can live in this dark world and still not be taken in by falsehoods; we can live in this place that is corrupted with seducing spirits and doctrines of demons and still not be deceived. We have a refuge from all that, IF we will moment by moment walk with Him, if we will reverence Him in our daily goings and comings, if we will worship Him alone, then we have His Word that we will not be deceived or destroyed.

Please, please remember this: if we just one time call something good which ABBA has called evil, in that moment we have taken our first step toward being deceived and we are on our way to forfeiting our promise of refuge. That does not mean He will not come after us because He will but until we turn around and reverence and worship Him alone again, we are not guaranteed a port in the storm or that a wolf will not take off an arm and a leg.

Thank You ABBA. You are so good to me. Thank You for being a forever refuge to and for us. I am so grateful for the promise that You will protect me from falsehood; that You are my refuge and protection against being taken in by seducing spirits and doctrines of demons. Holy Spirit, I ask You to keep me close so I will always be protected in this way. I pray this too for all our IDOKs and for these listed here and we pray for other blessings too as needed for these; healing and restoration, debt relief, food, clothing and shelter, reconciliations, the mending of broken hearts, protection and safety for our IDOK Troops, and peace and safety for Israel. Father, it’s been a long day, why do we say that? This day has had the same number of hours as any other day but I’m tired and no doubt I am not the only one. So I pray for our IDOKs as they are turning in for the night that they will lay down and sleep peacefully and awaken in the morning with You being first on their minds and that their first words will be to greet you and praise You for Who You are and who You are growing us to be. Holy Spirit I pray you will take this devotion and comfort and encourage and excite each reader to love and worship You Lord more and more. ABBA, I am posting this here in prayer as a daily prayer and I am praying as pure in motive as I know how today, asking that You by whatever ways and means You choose, see to the removal from office of every elected Official in Washington and all 50 States that is not sensitive to and is not inclined to work to preserve Judaeo-Christian values and the Constitution of this Nation in its Original Intent. Lord, I am so sorry that many (and thank You not all) offices of this Nation are filled with corrupt, reprobate-minded people who have no regard for You or Your Word and if I have done anything that has contributed to the election of these people, please forgive me and stop me from any further actions that will damage and bring this Nation to complete ruin. I pray Holy Spirit that You will stir the hearts and prayers of enough people to bring this Nation to repentance and will clean and cleanse the offices and the Officials of this Nation. Father God, please have mercy on us. Lord Jesus, clean Washington even as You did the Temple if need be. Amen and amen.

IDOK DEVOTION FOR WEDNESDAY, MAY 13, 2009

Just a little note; don’t know if it will blossom into a full edition or not.

Luke 4:16 So He came to Nazareth, [that Nazareth] where He had been brought up, and He entered the synagogue, as was His custom on the Sabbath day. And He stood up to read.

As was His custom on the Sabbath day. If you are physically able and not consistently and faithfully worshipping with a local body of Christian believers (that is going to Church), you are not following in the steps of Jesus. That’s as simple and as blunt as it is. This is also addressed in another place in Scripture. Hebrews 10: 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

And THE DAY is approaching! Praise the Lord!!

Okay. I’ll get back to my journal now. ‘See’ you in a bit or longer.

It’s been longer than a bit and it has been a productive day as to household pleasures and the like. Even took the time to do some posting to Kat’s Meows. Okay enough of that.

Luke 4: Then He rolled up the book and gave it back to the attendant and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were gazing [attentively] at Him.

Wouldn’t you have loved to have seen that? If only we would gaze attentively at the Word today, how different would our lives, our homes, our churches, and Washington DC be today? We could find out. Do you think we will? I Peter 4: 17 For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?

This one I am adding just because I love Israel and this is God’s promise to them.

Ezekiel 28: 25 ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “When I have gathered the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and am hallowed in them in the sight of the Gentiles, then they will dwell in their own land which I gave to My servant Jacob. 26 And they will dwell safely there, build houses, and plant vineyards; yes, they will dwell securely, when I execute judgments on all those around them who despise them. Then they shall know that I am the LORD their God.”’” I think this time is coming quickly, don’t you? What should we be doing about it?

Father, these are questions that we will answer. We cannot ignore them, for ignoring them is an answer. Isn’t it? Would You have us do more as IDOKs than pray for Israel? We are waiting and by Your grace and will, we will do as You direct. And Lord that day in the temple, oh that must have been something to see You read that passage and proclaim to them that You were their Messiah. I am so glad that many of them believed. It will be good to meet them all one day. Thank You for making that a reality for me and for all who believe You. I pray now for any IDOKs that might not be as faithful in corporate worship as You were here on earth in Your going to the cross mission and I pray we will be more faithful in assembling with other Christian believers. I pray we will be more consistent in our building up and edifying one another. Claudia’s report on Doug is really good news. Thank You. And thank You for the improvement of others that we may not have even heard about yet. Please continue to improve Steve. Please continue to undergird and walk with Linda in this time of learning to live with Bernie there with You instead of here with her. And there are others in that process too, missing their loved ones, and so I pray for them to be in the center of Your will for them. And as daily when we come to pray we pray for our IDOK Troops. We are so grateful to be able to pray for them and so grateful at Your faithfulness to protect them and keep them safe. Thank You. And we pray again for the cleansing of Washington and all 50 States, we pray for the removal and replacement of those that are not willing to be at peace with Your Will and Ways. And we pray for each name written here. You know we don’t read every name every day but every day You see them and every day You are there for them, helping and loving and providing. Thank You Lord. IDOK DEVOTION FOR TUESDAY, MAY 12, 2009

I am still loving my 90 day journal; it is more than a 90 day journal to me for more than a couple reasons, but be that as it may, I want to share with you a portion of what Beth wrote (Jesus, 90 Days with The One and Only. Page 79. B&H Publishing Group. Nashville, Tennessee):

“In Conclusion, it’s clear that these were no ordinary temptations. They appear to be direct assaults on the messiahship of Christ. We can, however, draw a few applications from them:

Seasons of intense temptations are not indications of God’s displeasure.

Satan is tenacious. Don’t expect him to give up after one or two tries.

Scripture is the most powerful tool in our fight against temptations. Don’t fight back with your words. Fight back with God’s!”

As you may have figured out, my reading today is Luke 4:1-13 and is the account of Jesus’ 40 days in the wilderness and Satan coming to attack Him when He was physically weakened. Satan must have been hoping that Jesus’ physically weakened state meant that His Spiritual state was also weak. He was wrong!! Praise God, he was wrong! You and I would not be saved today, if Satan had had his way with Jesus that day. But he didn’t and we are rejoicing. Yet in my rejoicing I am reminded that another will come along (and he may already be on the scene) and Satan will make him the same deal; that man will say yes.

Luke 4:

5 Then the devil took Him up to a high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the habitable world in a moment of time [in the twinkling of an eye].

6 And he said to Him, To You I will give all this power and authority and their glory (all their magnificence, excellence, preeminence, dignity, and grace), for it has been turned over to me, and I give it to whomever I will.

7 Therefore if You will do homage to and worship me [just once], it shall all be Yours.

Sadly, tragically, damnably for all eternity, the Anti-Christ will say yes.

And Beth introduced a thought to me that bears pondering. On page 78, she asked me (and everyone else who reads the page) if I could imagine how Jesus must feel as He watches the state of the world under the influence of the Satan? So, can you imagine? What do you imagine He feels? And does imagining that help you understand Him more and love Him more? I think it does me. With all the corruption, oppression, and violence that fills this world that ABBA loves so much, she said: “Surely Christ is counting the days until He grabs the deed restriction to the world and reigns without rival in righteousness.” I think He is, don’t you?

So when folks ask us how it is that God can allow such evil to go on, tell them in His Righteousness and Justice He is biding His time and one day all evil will be over FOREVER!! And then we can ask that dear soul asking such an accusing question, “where will you be then?”

ABBA, I am thanking you again for the ministry You have given Beth Moore; for her faithfulness to Your Word. Thank You, Lord. But thank You more that You are the giver of that ministry and that You Holy Spirit quicken Your Word to us. Thank You. It comforts me that the day will come when we will be no more affected by evil; that Satan will be put away and You Lord Jesus will reign here. I can only imagine it but because of You it will be more than imagination it will be reality; so much so that we can count it has having already happened. You are that sure; that safe. Oh, that is good! Thank You. And in this moment I am now reminded that the school term is coming to a close and teachers and students need encouragement to finish this ‘race’ well and so I pray that for them and selfishly I especially pray it for the teachers in my family and those teachers affecting my family, like those who are teaching my grandchildren.

Again, thank You for Doug’s progress; we would love for him to be so improved he could go home today. And in addition to Doug we pray for the remaining ones listed here. We don’t know what it is specifically that each needs but whatever it is we believe, we know, You will give it, so we say thank You even now. And we pray for our IDOK Troops, for their safety and protection in spirit, soul and body. We pray for the cleansing of Washington and all 50 States. We thank You for those in office that love You and for them we pray for a stronger voice, a firmer platform and that they will cast only righteous votes at whatever the cost. We pray that You will convict and correct Leaders who sign bills without reading them. If You will DADDY make it impossible for them to sleep if they intend to vote without reading. Thank You for every heart that You are working in and I pray we will be willing to obey. Thank You for the freedoms we still have and I pray we get to keep them; show us what we can do to work with You to keep them. Amen and amen.
