Popping In

Just popping in to say hello.
I haven’t forgotten you — posting has just been on the back burner.

I’m still reading through the Bible, slowly. I’ve made it to the Psalms now.
I encourage you to read your Bibles.  Don’t take this holy and blessed gift for granted.

Read and KNOW The GOD who loves you.

Amos 8:11 Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord GOD, when I will send a famine on the land— not a famine of bread or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD.  12 People will stagger from sea to sea and roam from north to east, seeking the word of the LORD, but they will not find it.  Source

This was spoken long ago and in a distant land from us; I wonder if these words will come to this land? And when?

On a lighter note:

Names!

whole-wheat-pancakes-9735211f39d04cc783639c1bcc53c1a9-3233885327Good morning!

Nehemiah 11

I confess all these names in Nehemiah are not in my vocabulary. Pronouncing them — nope can’t do it. But let me tell you, I appreciate them.
Why?
All those names tell me GOD knows the people attached to the names. Each and every one of them, He knows their name! But that’s not all — He knows your name. He knows my name.

There’s more! Twice in this one chapter, He says this: “468 men of valor” and “123 mighty men of valor”.
Can you imagine GOD calling you a mighty man or woman of valor?
How good is that?!

May this Wednesday be a splendid day for you!

We Could

As I read Nehemiah, chapters 8 and 9, 9:2 in part says this: ‘and they stood and confessed their sins and the iniquities of their fathers’, and I wondered if many of us do the same. We seem so busy we miss enough respites of quiet to even see our sins much less to seek deliverance from those strongholds handed down in us from generations before us. We could study our spiritual heritage and see the good and the not good; we could give thanks for the holy and denounce and forsake the unholy. The art of quiet, real quiet saturated in peace and jeweled with smiles; based on Scripture, we could have it if we seek it and choose it.
