I am giving thanks today for more than I am going to innumerate here. I am a delighted woman.
Potatoes. Yes. I am grateful for potatoes for soup. I had leftover chicken and all the other fixings for chicken pot pie soup – no crust. :) I was chopping and throwing veggies in the pot and thought I need a potato. I have no potatoes. Who wants to go to the store for 2 potatoes? But JT said he would and as he was leaving the drive –Misfitsarrived. Potatoes! Along with other veggies!
Soup’s on!
And later there will be roasted brussel sprouts. Oh my, are they good with a little olive oil, onions, and carrots, a little spice, and roasted just right!
We have so many reasons to give thanks.
Psalm 37: (CJB) 25 I have been young; now I am old; yet not once have I seen the righteous abandoned or his descendants begging for bread. 26 All day long he is generous and lends, and his descendants are blessed.
27 If you turn from evil and do good, you will live safely forever. 28 For Adonai loves justice and will not abandon his faithful; they are preserved forever. But the descendants of the wicked will be cut off.source
I am thankful that 27 years ago today a little man was born. His lungs filled with air and he let out a cry that told us all he was strong and loved.
Happy Birthday, Sweet Boy. Your Mamaw loves you.
Children. Gifts from GOD!
Psalms 139
13 For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. 15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.
17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! source
Are you giving thanks for children today?
Are you giving thanks to the Father who has allowed us to love and care for these precious little men and little women?
The privilege, the responsibility. the GIFT of introducing these little ones to JESUS is our greatest joy and our greatest accomplishment.
Amen and amen!
Another week has zipped through our hands. I am wondering how much slipped by without its due notice. No doubt some. From my view vantage this morning I am noticing my parasol tree’s leaves have turned, mostly yellow now.
The sun is shy this morning and the temps are cooler. I think Fall is finally in the air here in LA.
Mainly, I’m just touching base and saying hello. I think I don’t have a lot to say these days.
This world is a mess but GOD is still good.
As beautiful as is my view from this desk I know life is hard and getting more — more what? What is life here? Oh yes — a vapor.
James 4:14 New King James Version 14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.source
Parasol trees. I have just one. A gift from a dear friend. I think of her often. Would you like to know more about Parasol trees? LookHERE.
We are glad you are here; stay a while, look around, and be encouraged. We estimate there to be over 3,000 posts here at The White Stone Blog. Please know my hope is ALWAYS to help and NEVER harm. I have voiced many opinions and thoughts here since 2007 and by now I MAY NOT EVEN AGREE with all of them and some of my grammar and punctuation likely needs editing. But this is changeless: JESUS is our ONLY Savior and Hope. Do you KNOW Him?
