Giving thanks for a pretty umbrella and a Baby Girl and Hubby who shared it with us.
Umbrellas.
Shields. They shield us from sun and rain and even keep the table cleaner we hope.
Sunday School.
Our lesson came from 2 Peter 1. Click herefor a link to read.
Verse 4 says we have exceedingly great and precious promises and if we believe and rely on these exceedingly great and precious promises we have the greatest of all shields as we traverse this often hostile planet.
Virtue.
Verse 5 says we are to add virtue to our faith. In preparation for the class I was led to an understanding of the word virtue that has given me cause for praise. So thankful!
For books made of paper holding words carefully sealed with ink; pages that keep safe your highlights and words of your own added to his or hers; perhaps months or years from now to be treasured anew, if not by you then those you hold dear because electric grids and downed transformers cannot remove paper and pen.
For things eternal and Him who made it so.
20For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, Romans 1 source
Wisdom. I’m thankful for wisdom. Thankful that Father gives it to those who will ask.
James 1: (NKJV) 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.source
All of Father’s children who will apply themselves to His Word can operate in wisdom; their education, status, pedigree – none of that prohibits wisdom. They can wear it daily. They can listen to man’s words and discern truth from lies; they can listen and know right from wrong however tangled the spin. Yes, I am thankful for ABBA’s gift of wisdom given to the dumbest of us! :)
And I am thankful for smells and the ability to enjoy a pot of simmering water and oil drifting lazily through the house.
I’m thankful for falling leaves that blanket the yard and a gentle breeze that moves Old Glory’s strips.
Some weekend color in North East Alabama. As we rode, as we stopped, I marveled at the beautiful world we still have. Our Creator GOD is seen everywhere we look for Him.
We are glad you are here; stay a while, look around, and be encouraged. We estimate there to be over 3,000 posts here at The White Stone Blog. Please know my hope is ALWAYS to help and NEVER harm. I have voiced many opinions and thoughts here since 2007 and by now I MAY NOT EVEN AGREE with all of them and some of my grammar and punctuation likely needs editing. But this is changeless: JESUS is our ONLY Savior and Hope. Do you KNOW Him?
