Need some rest in these days of trouble?

(TLV) Psalm 94: 12 Blessed is the one You discipline, Adonai,
and teach him from Your Torah,
13 to give him rest from days of trouble . . .   .  source

Why does the Father want us to study His Word? Why does the Holy Spirit draw us to and teach us the Scriptures?  Because when we apply the counsel, the teachings, the promises of His Word to our souls, we find the rest we need.

(TLV) 14 For Adonai will not forsake His people. He will never abandon His inheritance. source

(CSB) 18 If I say, “My foot is slipping,” your faithful love will support me, Lord19 When I am filled with cares, your comfort brings me joy.  source

Got Room?

Psalm 135:13 Adonai, Your Name endures forever,
Your renown, Adonai, from generation to generation.
14 For Adonai will vindicate His people,
and have compassion on His servants.
15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold,
the work of human hands.
16 They have mouths, but cannot speak,
eyes, but cannot see;
17 they have ears, but cannot hear,
nor is there any breath in their mouths.
18 Those who make them will be like them—
so will all who keep trusting in them.

A Living I Will

Psalm 116:I love Adonai,
for He hears my voice, my cries.
Because He has turned His ear to me,
I will call on Him all my days.

Adonai is gracious and righteous—
yes, our God is compassionate.
Adonai protects the simple-hearted.
When I was brought low, He saved me.
Return to your rest, my soul,
for Adonai has been good to you.

10 I trusted even when I said,
    “I am very afflicted”—
11 even when I said in my haste,
    “All men are liars.”
12 How can I repay Adonai
for all His bounties to me?
13 I will lift up the cup of salvation,
and call on the Name of Adonai.
14 I will fulfill my vows to Adonai
in the presence of all His people.

Ones

Today’s Headline

Psalm 12  (CSB)

Help, Lord, for no faithful one remains;
the loyal have disappeared from the human race.
They lie to one another;
they speak with flattering lips and deceptive hearts.
May the Lord cut off all flattering lips
and the tongue that speaks boastfully.
They say, “Through our tongues we have power;
our lips are our own—who can be our master?”

“Because of the devastation of the needy and the groaning of the poor, I will now rise up,” says the Lord. “I will provide safety for the one who longs for it.”

The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver refined in an earthen furnace, purified seven times.

You, Lord, will guard us; you will protect us from this generation forever. The wicked prowl all around, and what is worthless is exalted by the human race. source

As I said. Today’s headline.  But there is Good News! The LORD has come!
For the One who longs for Him.  Whoever that One is. However many Ones. He has come.
