How Many Batteries Does the Radio Take?

IDOK DEVOTION FOR FRIDAY, AUGUST 29, 2008

Some of you know that in 2006, the firm at which I was employed downsized and I and several others lost our jobs. So on that Friday afternoon in March, I joined the ranks of the ‘not gainfully employed’. Jerry and I didn’t necessarily plan for me to remain at home this long, but thus far I have. (By the way, this week I did apply to substitute teach at a local Christian School) Often I have commented to my beloved how grateful I am that he has enabled me to be here. And I conscientiously noticed something today. If before Jerry leaves for the office or during our late night conversations he mentions something that needs to be done, like checking the radio to see how many and what type batteries are needed, I have been known to make that a priority of my day. So this morning, I stopped to analyze why I do that – it was an easy analysis. Based upon many former years of living compared with now, my gratitude and my love for him places checking that radio near the top of my To Do List. Moreover, it’s not a priority that I only do because I should but rather because I want to. It’s a way of saying I love you; you are important to me.
Now I am the first to admit, I am not perfect at it and too many times, I am neglectful. And I suppose you know I am sharing this with you for a spiritual application. Can you see it already?
Who rescued us from the life we were living? Who ‘married’ us and redeemed us from eternal death in hell? Who absolutely adores and loves us more than we can even comprehend? And during our conversations with Abba doesn’t the Holy Spirit often mention some things that need to be done?
I checked the radio today because I love and appreciate Jerry Lee Thompson. But I am thinking that we, the Bride of Christ, would make our Groom, the Lord Jesus, smile so big if we listened closely as He speaks and did some prioritizing. Whatcha think?
Revelation 22:
16 I, Jesus, have sent My messenger (angel) to you to witness and to give you assurance of these things for the churches (assemblies). I am the Root (the Source) and the Offspring of David, the radiant and brilliant Morning Star.
17 The [Holy] Spirit and the bride (the church, the true Christians) say, Come! And let him who is listening say, Come! And let everyone come who is thirsty [who is painfully conscious of his need of those things by which the soul is refreshed, supported, and strengthened]; and whoever [earnestly] desires to do it, let him come, take, appropriate, and drink the water of Life without cost.
18 I [personally solemnly] warn everyone who listens to the statements of the prophecy [the predictions and the consolations and admonitions pertaining to them] in this book: If anyone shall add anything to them, God will add and lay upon him the plagues (the afflictions and the calamities) that are recorded and described in this book.
Abba, Lord, You are AWESOME. This is so sweet, so right to the point, thank You. And more than thank You; yes, I want to do this for You because I love You and because You have saved me from so much. Thank You. Thank You. So I am counting on You to guide me, order my steps and perfect me as much as possible until I see You face to face at the Marriage Supper You are preparing for me and for all my brothers and sisters. You are so AWESOME! And Lord, we come with these listed here who have many and diverse needs and burdens they are bearing. And there is not a doubt in our minds that not only do You care but You are willing to answer these many prayers. And You are answering them. And we right now say thank You for the victories and healings and miracles You have done and will yet do for each soul listed here today. Our IDOK Troops are included we know but we specifically call them out to You. We thank You for the protection given, the guidance, wisdom, safety and the drawing closer to You that You are doing for them. We specifically pray again for America, for Her Repentance; for the safety and Peace of Israel and You know our hearts about Obama and McCain – Reveal Your Hand Lord for the good of America and to exalt You Lord Jesus. IDOK DEVOTION FOR THURSDAY, AUGUST 28, 2008

I pull out the keyboard drawer of my desk as this is where my open Bible lays, waiting for me any time I come to read it. And when I sat to read today, this is where I began – Psalm 146. Read it with me and be blessed by the Words of our Father. Listen to the heart of the Psalmist as he speaks to us.
Psalm 146
The Happiness of Those Whose Help Is the LORD
1 Praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD, O my soul!

First he praises the LORD. He commands his soul to praise the LORD. I like that. I like it when my Spirit takes command over my flesh, my emotions!
2 While I live I will praise the LORD;
I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.

He goes on to say all the days of my life I will choose to Praise the LORD. That means even when he does not FEEL like praising the LORD, he chooses to praise anyway. The Psalmist is telling us up front what are his aspirations and intentions. Then he moves to give us counsel and we would do well to heed his counsel.
3 Do not put your trust in princes,
Nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help.
4 His spirit departs, he returns to his earth;
In that very day his plans perish.

Here he tells us no matter how charming, how charismatic, how powerful, how successful is a man; he is ONLY a man and one that is only a man is of no eternal help to us. A son of man cannot save us, cannot deliver us. A son of man will die even as we shall die and with his death all his earthly doings will cease. So if MAN cannot make us happy; cannot give us meaning and purpose, who can? And here is our answer. THE SON OF MAN.
5 Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help,
Whose hope is in the LORD his God,

Look now in these following verses at the power and majesty of God; at His strength, justice, reliability, everlasting truth, power to heal and restore, love and compassion; all this, HE has and is for us. He does for us what no mere mortal man can.
6 Who made heaven and earth,
The sea, and all that is in them;
Who keeps truth forever,
7 Who executes justice for the oppressed,
Who gives food to the hungry.
The LORD gives freedom to the prisoners.

8 The LORD opens the eyes of the blind;
The LORD raises those who are bowed down;
The LORD loves the righteous.
9 The LORD watches over the strangers;
He relieves the fatherless and widow;
But the way of the wicked He turns upside down.
And how long shall He do these things? How long shall He be GOD?
10 The LORD shall reign forever—
Your God, O Zion, to all generations.
Praise the LORD!

Forever!! Yes, let us Praise the LORD!! Let us choose like the Psalmist to praise the LORD when we feel like it and when we don’t. When the world is as it should be and when it is not. This reminds me of a song. Let me see if I can find us a YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cyqn2LxKVk
May it be that you are now smiling and rejoicing in the Love of Jesus our LORD.
Oh yes Abba, Blessed be Your Name on whatever road we walk, Blessed be Your Name! Praise You LORD! Thank You for this song. Thank You for Psalm 146. Thank You for this day. Thank You for brothers and sisters who send words of encouragement, even words carrying Your message of caution. Oh praise You ABBA You are AWESOME and I love You more every day. Thank You. Thank You. I pray now for our IDOKS that each will praise You today; that whatever road they are on today they will still praise You. We especially pray for strength and courage and hope and peace for these whose road is marked with suffering and pain and illness and disease. And we pray that their road will turn to healing. And for those whose road is marked with indecision we pray for wisdom and courage for them. For those who are heavy burdened we pray they will sense and know for certain that You are undergirding them. We pray for our IDOK Troops for their continued protection. Lord, my words cannot express how grateful I am for the safety You have given our IDOK Troops. And we continue to pray for families and friends left here missing them, please comfort them and supply their needs. Father, You know my prayer for America to repent; You know again today I am asking You for mercy and space and grace to repent. You know my love for the Nation of Israel; You know my gratitude to them for being the People through which You Lord Jesus came to me and You know I want Israel to have Peace with You, to have all the promises You have made to them to be finally fulfilled and if there is anything I can do to aid that Lord let it be. Father, my request is the same for the election; I pray for mercy for the candidates and for we as citizens of America. Thank You again for loving us and redeeming us. And Abba I am asking You to give me unshakable love for You and unshakable trust in You for Jesus sake. Amen and amen. Family from Olive Baptist. Tory. Davison and Mosley Families. Danni A. Bernie. But For Today

IDOK DEVOTION FOR WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 27, 2008

Well, the DNC is continuing. Did you notice DNC this week is Democratic National Convention? Did you also know that DNC is a means to murder (abort) babies? I am told there is a sign in Denver this week that reads ‘DNC kills babies’. I agree!
If you will please bear with me as I work through this Presidential election. I am hoping to get off this campaign soap box soon and get back to just the Word and praying but not today. And as I ‘preached’ yesterday, I am by Father’s Grace moment by moment choosing to learn to fret not. I said to my beloved tonight that should it be that there are not enough godly people and decent, morally sound people left in America to keep Barack Hussein Obama from being elected President, wouldn’t it be GREAT if when the polls close on that November Tuesday that the Trumpet would sound and the Bride of Christ be raptured out of this place? Read with me His Promise to us.
1 Thessalonians 4:
16 For the Lord Himself (oh I love reading those words: THE LORD HIMSELF) will (not maybe, not hope so but WILL) descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.
Just think about that! Can you imagine it? Do you from time to time use your holy imagination and let that scene play on the screen of your mind? I hope you do!! It’s a glorious PROMISE to us and I am counting on it. I am counting on that day when He, HIMSELF, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, will come to the atmospheric heavens, that blue sky we look at every day and from among those beautiful white, fluffy clouds He will call us UP and we shall hear Him and we will RISE to meet Him. Yes, these are words of comfort to me. Yet, I do not know when Jesus is coming again. I am thoroughly convinced it will not be has long as it has been. And if this November election goes to those who have refused to Vote the Bible, Jesus may still delay His Coming and if He tarries longer we can be sure that He will take care of us even in an America that is even more unholy then than it is today. BUT for today I am NOT giving up that we Christians and decent, morally sound people can still defeat Barack Hussein Obama IF we will PRAY and when the Holy Spirit says SPEAK to do so in HIS BOLDNESS.
Psalm 140: 12 I know that the LORD will maintain
The cause of the afflicted,
And justice for the poor.
13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks to Your name;
The upright shall dwell in Your presence.
Lord, thank You that You are coming again for us. And thank You that until You do gather us to Yourself that we are safe and secure in You; that You guide us, protect us, and provide for us. That not one need we have will You allow to go unmet. Thank You. Thank You that You will not allow one plot of the evil one to eternally harm us and You will not allow one disease or one illness we suffer to be without Your Glory resting upon us. Thank You that every happening in our lives will be shaped by You for our own good. Thank You for the protection and safety You have given our IDOK Troops and Abba, I am asking You to continue to protect each one of them. I am asking You Holy Spirit to speak to them to encourage them to fall more and more in love with You Lord Jesus. And to hedge them about and keep them safe from all harm and to bring them home safely. And I pray for families as they wait that You will encourage them and that they will rely upon You for strength and peace. I pray for the Peace of Israel and for strength and victory over all Her enemies. I ask You to encourage, give strength and direction to each and every IDOK and Father, whatever each one needs today I am counting on You to supply. And now Father, I ask You once again because of the gravity of the situation that You empower and move people to vote against Barack Hussein Obama. I pray You will have mercy and not allow us to be governed by this man. And Father, I pray for John and Cindy McCain; Lord, I’d like to see him conduct an honest and honorable campaign. And Father, thank You for reminding me, my main prayer for Obama is that he and Michelle repent and embrace Your Word as THE TRUTH to live by. Abba, in fact that is my prayer for all of us that we repent of all sin and live according to Your Word. And Father, I ask You to balance me for Your Glory and the good of my brothers and sisters and the lost who have not said yes to You in salvation. amen and amen. Family from Olive Baptist. Tory. Davison and Mosley Families. Danni A. Bernie. Darlene. Edie G. Rachel. W C and family. Maggie and Family. Dylan. Joseph Toomey and Family. DeLois. Terri. Kim T. Kevin and the children. Katelyn (B). That’s Not My Job!

IDOK DEVOTION FOR TUESDAY, AUGUST 26, 2008
I am on my way to wellness. Thank you for your prayers.

As I begin this IDOK, Jerry is viewing some of the coverage of the Democratic National Convention. I watched all I could which was not much. It is not good for my health, neither my blood pressure nor my spirit. I cannot fathom the blindness of people. Have you ever seen a child whose conduct was so unruly, so mindless that in your flesh you could take hold of them and shake them, hoping in some way to stop their wrong behavior? That’s the way I feel as I begin this devotional writing. I want to grab hold of folks and shake some sense into them. But that’s not my job. I want to shout: “People, his name is Barack Hussein Obama! He is not an ‘American’! He is an Ishmaelite!” But that’s not my job. And further ‘they’ are not my audience; you are. And you already know this. What could I tell you about the political scene in America that you do not already know? What could I tell you about the rampant and blatant sin in America that you do not already know? Maybe my frustration to a lesser degree or not is your frustration. Maybe you want to get some folks told too. Maybe you want to enlighten them even as I do. But in this moment, that’s not my job. And I don’t know that Abba will ever give me a platform to tell Obama that he has offended me (and I suspect he wouldn’t care anyway). Or Katie Couric or many other media personalities that they too offend me. Obviously, tonight that’s not my job. And neither is it my job to talk loudly to the television – which tonight I have done. Father, forgive me. And when I left the television and came to my office, I was still speaking rather loudly and there was only one place I could go for calmness, for comfort, for hope, for help.
Psalm 37:
7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him;
Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,
Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.
8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath;
Do not fret—it only causes harm.
You can come to this place too. Whatever is overwhelming you, you can come and rest and trust your Abba. Fretting, only causes harm. And I have done enough of that already.
Continuing in Psalm 37.
18 The LORD knows the days of the upright,
And their inheritance shall be forever.
19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time,
And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD,
And He delights in his way.
24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down;
For the LORD upholds him with His hand.

25 I have been young, and now am old;
Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken,
Nor his descendants begging bread.
26 He is ever merciful, and lends;
And his descendants are blessed.
39 But the salvation of the righteous is from the LORD;
He is their strength in the time of trouble.
40 And the LORD shall help them and deliver them;
He shall deliver them from the wicked,
And save them,
Because they trust in Him.
Whoever is elected President in November, these Scriptures are true. So what is my job? My job is to take to ABBA with my frustrations and trust Him to be GOD – always! And then maybe He will allow me to keep on sharing His Gospel which is our ultimate job – yours and mine.
Father, thank You. Fretting over Obama and thousands of other mis-guided people does not help me or them. Only You can change me and change them and that is what I am asking You to do. Thank You that whatever comes You are LORD, and You give Your People strength in times of trouble. Father, my concern for this election remains but I am choosing by Your Grace to not fret over it and by Your Grace allow You to take my frustration and make it productive for Your Kingdom. I continue to pray for America that You will pour out conviction and give grace and space for repentance. And I pray You will continue to expose the character of Obama and McCain too. Father, I am sorry this country is in such a state of sin. Please have mercy. And I am continuing to pray that America will stand with Israel. I pray that people in positions of power here in America who will not stand with Israel will be removed from office. Abba, this place is in such a mess only You can fix it and I know the time is coming when You will. And we are looking forward to that time. In the meantime, please protect our IDOK Troops and families; give comfort and wisdom and supply their needs we pray. And for these listed here we pray for their strength to increase, their faith to grow and their love for You to abound. We pray those who are sick to be healed. We pray for those seeking directions as to medical treatment, or debt management or mending relationships that You will guide them and they will follow. And for a family we believe to be members of Olive Baptist Church who are troubled on every side, we pray for strength and provisions. Thank You for being our ABBA. Thank You for forgiving us when we sin and act unbecoming. amen and amen. Tory. Davison and Mosley Families. Danni A. Bernie. Darlene. Edie G. Rachel. W C and family. Maggie and Family. Dylan. We are glad you are here; stay a while, look around, and be encouraged. We estimate there to be over 3,000 posts here at The White Stone Blog. Please know my hope is ALWAYS to help and NEVER harm. I have voiced many opinions and thoughts here since 2007 and by now I MAY NOT EVEN AGREE with all of them and some of my grammar and punctuation likely needs editing. But this is changeless: JESUS is our ONLY Savior and Hope. Do you KNOW Him?
