Amid the Wreckage (again)

IDOK DEVOTION FOR TUESDAY, DECEMBER 22, 2009

I am reading again this morning in my book entitled Jesus Lives by Sarah Young, ISBN-13:978-1-4041-8695-8 Thomas Nelson Publishing at pages 218-219.   She well entitles the piece: Trials; for that is what we often experience, but a particular phrase caught my interest: search for ME in the wreckage of adversity.  If only we would learn to do that. When trial and tragedy strike as we stand amid the wreckage kicking this piece and that piece, if only our hearts would lift that piece to see what treasure He had hidden beneath it.  Alas, that would make the trial and tragedy worth it.  Peace and Blessings to you all today this 22nd day of December, 2009.  Can you believe it?! Oh I hope our Christmas Celebrating honors HIM!

Trials

THROUGH I BRING GRIEF, I WILL SHOW COMPASSION, No matter what trials you are enduring you can count on My Love and My compassion—neither of which will ever fail.  I can bring good out of everything I allow in your life, but much of what I do is far beyond your understanding.  My children often misinterpret My ways with them.  When adversity strikes, they tend to feel as if I’m displeased with them.  They don’t realize that My most devoted followers are especially targeted in spiritual warfare.  The devil and his demonic underlings delight in tormenting those who live close to Me.  When you are suffering and your troubles seem endless, remember I am tenderly present in your afflictions.  Instead of lamenting the way things are, search for Me in the wreckage of adversity.  You will not fail to find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

I want you to experience more fully the greatness of My overflowing Love.  As you open yourself to My compassionate Presence, this Love flows into your more freely.  Like new wine, My Love expands within your, increasing your capacity for Me.  Another way to expand this capacity is to let My Love flow from you to others.  I am so pleased when you do this that I flood you with more of My living Presence.  As you continue this blessed adventure with Me, I fill you with ever-increasing volumes of unfailing Love.

Lamentations 3:32 Though He causes grief, Yet He will show compassion According to the multitude of His mercies.

Lamentations 3:22 Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

Jeremiah 29:13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you, says the LORD, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the LORD, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive.

DADDY GOD, Another morning I see is upon us and soon the sun will be making an appearance, as it does I pray You will speak to each of our IDOKs and Readers.  I pray each will sense Your Living Presence with us and within us.   We continue to pray for those who are grieving, that amid their great loss they will find the Reward and Treasure of Your Sweet Presence Lord Jesus.

I am thinking about Christmas Day, I really want You to be honored and exalted as we gather with family and friends. I really want You to be first in our minds and Holy Spirit without Your promptings and reminding I think I will get busy and the day will slip away; please don’t let that happen.

And we pray for our IDOK Troops, for not only their safety and protection but for peace of mind and comfort of soul.   And again we ask that they all get to come home safe and sound.   We pray too for Israel, to see them in the Place You have for them; to see them at peace and occupying the LAND You have given them.  We pray for America that You will forgive and bless us with holy repentance.

We pray too for each one spoken here today; please look upon each face and look within each heart and comfort and correct and rescue as You know each one needs for Jesus Name sake.   Amen and amen.

This is Personal! (again)

IDOK DEVOTION FOR THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 2010
This Is Personal!
            As I begin, this is early Wednesday morning, probably many of you have not read Wednesday’s edition yet as I begin Thursday’s.  I know at least one of you has though, as you were up way early this morning – I pray right now for grand-babies to be well and for rest for you.
            I want to share portions of Isaiah 43 with you.  I want you to take this passage personally.  It will give you strength! And it may even give you a ‘warm fuzzie’ and a warm fuzzie with JESUS is always WONDERFUL!
            To read the TEXT as it is written in the NKJV go to this link http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=is%2043&version=NKJV
To read it personalized (I really don’t think DADDY GOD will mind) continue on here:
            Isaiah 43
 1 But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O _________ (fill in your name),
      And He who formed you, O ________:
      “Fear not, for I have redeemed you, ________;
      I have called you by your name;
      __________, You are Mine.
       2 When I pass through the waters, HE will be with me;
      And through the rivers, they shall not overflow me.
      When I walk through the fire, I shall not be burned,
      Nor shall the flame scorch me.
       3 For (He has said to me) I am the LORD your God,
      The Holy One of Israel, your Savior;
4 Since you were precious in My sight,
      You have been honored,
      And I have loved you, __________; . . .
5 Fear not, for I am with you;
I like this practice of making Your Word personal; of reading it as though You spoke it to me personally. And You have. I pray our IDOKS and our Readers will be encouraged; that they will take Your Word personally; that they will KNOW Your promise to never leave them or forsake them is real and You are faithful and Your Word does not fail.
We pray too for all spoken here.  Thank You for allowing us to be a part of the work You are doing in their lives.  And we pray for our IDOK Troops, asking You to again keep them safe and bring them home safe and sound.  Please continue to speak to our hearts.  I pray this IDOK ministry will be made up of people who weep with those who weep and rejoice with those who rejoice.  I pray we will truly be people of prayer; so much so that the enemies of Your Gospel are turned back and lost people will be rescued from their bondage and slavery to sin.  Thank You for what You are doing in America.  Thank You for the grace and space You have given us; we pray for more; we pray for revival in America.  We pray elected officials that do not honor Your Word will be voted out of office.  We pray that those who have agendas to promote what You hate will be stopped and removed from office and we pray that at least morally sound people will be elected and that this Country will return to the basics.  You know all the unspokens, the specific unspokens, and parents and grandparents with heavy concerns, I pray for Your Will to be made plain and manifested in all these things.  And this I pray in the Mighty and Holy Name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.  Amen and amen.

More (again)

IDOK DEVOTION FOR TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2010
MORE
            As you may have noticed, my timing is off this week; just have not gotten into the groove yet … I am planning to do that today.  As I took inventory this morning of what needs to be done around here it is a daunting task.  BUT what is that Scripture? Philippians 4:13 (New Living Translation) 13 For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.   So, I can do this day.  You can do this day!
Colossians 3:23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.   And whatever we are doing today, we are wise and we are obedient if we perform it as an act of worship unto our Lord and Christ.
Ecclesiastes 9: (New King James Version) 10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might;   Yeah! Put my heart into it as well as my hands and feet! And if I just don’t have the heart for it and if you just don’t have the heart for it – pray for it!
Philippians 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
Be anxious for nothing – that includes wondering if something is too little to pray about it – it’s NOT! Pray! If it matters to you even just a little bit, it matters MORE to HIM! Pray!
So lets pray:
ABBA, I got stuff on my mind and You know for sure but I think I am not the only one.  I think all our IDOKs and Readers have stuff on their minds, as well as stuff on their ‘plates’ to do.  And now that we are discussing it we have things on our ‘plates’ that You did not direct us to put on our plates, don’t we?  Help us rake that stuff off — even if it takes more than a few scrapes help us be willing and learn to do that.  And help us learn and be willing to be trained to do all we do as an act of worship.  I think this may be foreign to our emotions as well as our minds; but I want us to include You in all we do.  I don’t want to leave You out of anything.  I want to practice Your Presence as I do the laundry, make the bed, stitch up those pants, vacuum, cook, take pictures, read, shop, talk on the phone – everything I do I want You included.  I want You there not just as a Partner but MORE.  I want You as Guide and Protector and King.  You need to be the BOSS over what I do.  I need You to Boss me today, because if I boss, I will not hit that groove today and we both know it.  You are not only AWESOME God, You are Practical and Smart God too. I am acting just down right stupid when I leave You out of anything and I do mean anything.  And You are helping me practice this more, thank You.  I pray we will have some, a lot of IDOKs and Readers to amen this.  Right now I got breakfast to cook, come with me and bring me back here timely.
Thank You for this ministry, thank You for letting us pray for so many and Holy Spirit make us fervent effectual pray-ers. We pray for Israel’s peace and prosperity and for the subduing of Her enemies. We pray for America’s repentance, for cleansing from the White House to every house and for You to raise up an army of prayer warriors.  We pray for Your missionaries around the world, for their safety and boldness to proclaim Your Gift of Eternal Salvation In Jesus and Jesus alone.  Amen and amen.

However (again)

IDOK DEVOTION FOR FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 2010
However
            I’ve been away from my computer most of the day and tonight since getting home I have played — talked on the phone, read some emails, done a little reading and now it’s time for bed and I don’t have a devotion written!
            However! I am reminded just now that I had two points yesterday and only gave one.  Let me see if I can speedily develop point number two here.
            There once was a King in Judah and Jotham was his name. 2 Chronicles 27:1-9 says he did what was right in the sight of the LORD. He built the Upper Gate of the house of the LORD; he built cities in the mountains of Judah; in the forests he built fortresses and towers; he fought enemies and defeated them; he built commerce – a really good guy. Right? Yes, BUT.  2 Kings 15:35 reads: However the high places were not removed; the people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places.
            And so when Jotham was buried with his fathers in the City of David (verse 9 of 2 Chronicles 27) his son Ahaz assumed the throne and if you continue to read you will find that Ahaz sacrificed and burned incense on those high places that his father did not tear down.  Moreover Ahaz’s debauchery continued and he wound up sacrificing his own child to idols.
            Jotham in his reign did some really great things; he was a good king BUT – Beth wrote it this way: The atrocity Jotham chose to ignore was the one that snared his own son.
            What are we ignoring that will snare our children and grandchildren? It is not enough for us to do what is right, we have to do all we can to correct or remove what is wrong.

            ABBA, the hour is late, it’s time to post this and rest but I dare not until I come with our IDOKs and Readers to pray.  To pray for each other; to pray for those on our hearts; for their well being in spirit, soul and body; for the peace and prosperity of Israel; for weekend activities to be safe and fun and vehicles to communicate Your Gospel to those we see whom You have prepared to hear; and so many other things on our individual hearts.  And to thank You for just being You.  To thank You for the Bible – what a gift it is to us.  Forgive us for neglecting it and inspire us, oh more than inspire but even give us an insatiable appetite for it.  It would be so good if we craved Your Word more than we do meat, potatoes and chocolate.  It would be so good if we desired Your Word more than food or drink.  It would be so good if You were our food and drink. And so we do not come under a load of condemnation, which I know does not come from You, I thank You that we are making progress here.  You are increasing our appetite for You and I am delighted about it; but I don’t want to be satisfied with what we have right now tonight.  I want us to want more tomorrow, more and more.  You do too, don’t You?  You make me smile.  Thank You.  I love You, LORD.  Thank You so much.  Rest us, refresh us and point out to us individually and even collectively, the Body of Christ, when we choose political correctness over holiness and don’t let us be comfortable in compromise.  Have mercy on us and bless us with conviction and correction so we can better equip our children and grandchildren to live free and holy.  I don’t pretend to know what You are up to these days but You are up to something and I can’t wait to see You unfold it and I cannot thank You enough for including me  in it.  I am so glad to be Your servant. Let me, train me, anoint me to serve You more and more.  To love and serve Your Body more and to really, really care that people are racing headlong to hell – help me care enough to put up some roadblocks in Jesus Name.    Holy Spirit, please take this prayer, tweak it so that it agrees with You, that way I know You will answer it and we will receive Your answer.  I like what Joyce said, that she was gonna ask You for anything and everything she wants and be happy with everything You give.  I like that.  Make it so in me too, ABBA, and not just me but every one who prays along with us in agreement.  I know it’s time to rest.  Amen and amen.
